It went really well. Good communication and the did a great job. Very nice crew that worked on my house.

Our insurance company told us to use Rainbow. If not covered by insurance, we would have bailed out. Initial responders were unprepared & caused more damage, phone calls weren't returned in a timely manner, repair work had to be re-done. Our final dealings were ok, after a change in personnel, but it took over 2 months for minor roof repair to be completed.

The owner quoted my $2,950.00 which I paid up front (ALL OF IT). I paid half in mid

and gave him the remainder on August 1st, 2013. He cashed both checks and promised me that the work would be done by mid August. He was not able to get to it by the middle of August, but promised it would then be done right after Labor Day. Again, it was not done. I continued to call him every couple of weeks (until the Friday before Thanksgiving). I left messages regarding needing to know when the job would be done. He would sometimes return my call, but not all of the time. Each time he gave some excuse for it not being done and then promised it would get done. In November, the bottom half of my chimney received the first coat of skimming (unfortunately it is the top half of the chimney that needs fixing). He apparently contracted with someone else to do the actual work and was having trouble getting them to finish the job. I basically consider this an unprofessional and dishonest company. The owner took my $2,900.00 and then did not complete the work. It is stealing in my book. I am now going to have to take him to small claims court in order to either get the job finished or get my money back so that I can hire a true professional to fix my chimney and complete the other work.

I had five large windows replaced on the back of my home.

did an excellent job. The windows were hard to install and required a lot of detail work. I look forward to having them return to complete additional projects in the spring and would highly recommend their work.

We would like to praise our actual builders, they did everything that was asked and did it well. The same goes to the owner of the company. He was responsive to concerns and also provided us with more than we had originally asked for. We are very happy with the finished product. This does not hold true of the general contractor whose unresponsiveness and lack of planning delayed our project for at least 4-5 weeks.
We were told that construction was to start the middle of May. When the builders didn't show, we were told he hadn't given us that date. (The major hinderance was that the GC was not licensed in Davenport IA which has its own licensing and is more strict than IA. He had told us that he would pass the test by the time we were to start. Didn't happen)
Next we had to wait for different reasons including our builders had started working on another job. Then we were told that because they weren't licensed in Davenport, we would have to go take out the Building Permit. This was the only time we saw the GC; he came up to pay for it.
The GC all knew that our main power line post to the house would need to be moved because it was in the way. He 'forgot' about it. The builders had to work around it until they could go no further. It wasted two weeks while the builders arranged to get this moved. Instead of having the building supplies on site ahead of time, the builders were continuously having to go pick them up. The GC did not arrange for an electrician for the site, so that caused numerous delays. Once we did have and electrician, there were numerous delays because the GC did not communicate well with them. My wife had to act as the go between with them and the city's electrical inspector on numerous occasions causing delays in the inspection.
Other problems

when the building inspectors came. The biggest problem was the GC's fault also. The city code states that if you have an untreated main support beam, it must be 18 inches above the ground. A treated one can be lower. The GC arranged for an untreated one and either didn't tell the people who dug and built the foundation or he didn't know. I

no blame on the builders because they are not from the area and only had the materials provided. This caused a two day delay as the builders had to crawl underneath and hand dig out enough clay to give it the 18" the inspectors required. Because of how the foundation was dug, another problem with the entrance arose. By code it needs to be 16" to give access underneath. The cement work did not allow this so the builders had dig out the ground and had to cut the hole bigger. It also meant they had to tear out a good cement pathway leaving open clay. (They did put down rock to keep it from becoming a mud pit. It is also in a location that is very rarely used so it wasn't much of a problem)
In conclusion, an A for the company's owner, A for the builders, and an F for the GC. I would use this company again as long as I had assurances that this GC had nothing to do with it. I will give him one concession though. We were told that he is licensed in Illinois and Iowa but not Davenport. Davenport seems to be very protective of its own local builders so they do make it difficult for someone to break into the

. This seems to hold true for the City's inspectors who I really think nitpicked the job. All in all, we had 3 different building inspectors at various stages. Two of them passed on the very same items at the beginning of the job that the third final inspector would not allow. Either the first two were derelict in their inspections or the third was trying to make sure this company didn't come back to Davenport.

Gentlemen came to my door and said their pitch. After negotiations, we decided on a price and set up time for installation. The guys came out after ordering and started put the roof on. Very timely and professional through the whole process. Very happy with everything.

The salesman came out measured the roof, explained a little about the company and showed us his bid. He was not high pressure or pushy. He explained financing options and went on his way.

The roof was put on the fall of 2011. And this spring APR 2012 - it LEAKED.
When the company came out to repair the leaks we had a carpender inspect the roof with them. MANY - MANY PROBLEMS. Holes in the deck were not repaired - Just shingled over. Acrons on the roof were shingled over. Nails were sticking up above the shingles. When one shingle was pulled up -- long stripes of shingles came with it. Pictures were taken of all problems.
When talking with the company - had to threaten going to court before they agreed to redo the whole roof.
The roof was replaced and inspected by the

Company did not have a building permit last fall - but did have one this spring.
Still waiting for repairs of water damage inside of house.

The new roof that was put on in Oct, 2011 "LEAKED"
When we called to report the leak - they promised to repair it. When they were here to do the repairs - we had a carpender here to inspect the roofing job with the roofing crew.
. The roof was so POORLY put on - No needed repairs had been done - a hard wind would have stripped all the shingles. Nails were sticking up. Acorns were shingled over. Strips of shingles came up when pulling up one shingle. Holes in the decking under shingles had not been repaired, just shingled over. Pictures were taken of everthing.
.At this time we demanded a new roof. And had to threaten going to court in order to get the job done right. April 2012 they returned to reroof..
This time they had a building permit. They did strip the old roof and replaced with new materials. Repairing the holes in the roof that should have been done the first time.
We had the second job inspected by county inspector, who OK'ed the job.
But, they PROMISED to repair the WATER damageD ceilings inside the house and HAVE NOT RETURNED TO FIX THAT MESS.
