"Great! I purchased a gorgeous couch and love seat set from The that were like brand new. They were on sale for $350.00." I then was able to sell my leather couch with matching ottoman. The Court delivered my sofa set for free (!!!) and picked up my leather couch and ottoman to take back to their store at the same time. Perfect. I love the store. On the first floor there are a lot of booths so there is a variety of collections. The second floor is for furniture consignments and there is where I found my sofas. I didn't expect to find Slovely fabric sofas at The Court - I was expecting great wood pieces only. So this store is on my monthly shopping round. The people who work there are really friendly and helpful. The owner, , was so kind about the couches.

"This we had hardwood installed in our upstairs rooms. They moved all the furniture in each room to an area where it would be stored while" installation proceeded. The furniture was draped with blankets, sitting on blankets to protect the existing hardwood. They also dismantled an electric mattress system and ran out to get a tool needed to remove a recessed bolt in our bed frame. A few weeks later, they returned and restored everything to its original condition. They were maneuvering in tight areas with a lot of large furniture. Many of the employees have been at the company since the first time I used them so many years ago. There has been no damage to house or furniture during any of these adventures. They are incredibly efficient, professional and punctual. And very careful. Any they work very quickly. The $500 is for each visit.

Antique collecting is one of the most popular leisure activities in the United States. Due to their intrinsic value, antiquated items are either collected for investment and profit-making purposes or as display pieces, prized as heirlooms.

Hi, benterrific.

Keep checking around at the auction houses and antique dealers. There are a few in your area that are highly rated. The bigger auction houses should have qualified appraisers. You might also check with your local art museum or fine art gallery. Just like we recommend for big home repair projects, shop around to get the best price.

I found out the hard way in the military that it depends on the product. Some silver polishes will turn brass and copper black with instant tarnish and etch them, so check the label. Some types can be used for any soft metal, some not. I suspect it depends on the pH of the product, or whether it has aommonia in it. And of course if you do decide to try it, do the center bottom (where it sits on the table) first so you can see if it is causing problems.

Brasso is probably the top name in the industry - they make both liquid and treated cloth polishing products both for specific metals, and general polishing ones.

I would ask local antique shops and art stores (ones selling art and frames, not galleries) if they repair antiques, AND for references, so the repair does not decrease its value unecessarily. In many cases the old frame is worth more than the painting !
You could also ask local art museums who they use to repair/rehab frames, if they do not do it themselves.

Thanks so much, Rich, for making our chair repair such a great experience. I love our dining room set and was afraid that I'd have to spend money to replace all the chairs, and with the holidays coming up, I wouldn't have them in time. Not only was Rich able to repair it so it looks like it was never broken, but he was also very expedient ...More in getting it done. I would highly recommend Rich to anyone looking for quality work in a timely fashion at an affordable price!!

Needing a muffler for my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and dreading going to one of the big name franchises, a friend suggested I go to . I stopped in about 11:30 expecting to have to make an appointment for a later date, he took a peek underneath my car and said if I could return about 1:30 he would do the repair today. Also quoted ...More me price of $137.
At 1:30 I returned and they went to work immediately. While doing the replacement, he noticed that the tailpipe hanger (installed at ) was incorrect and the tailpipe was actually resting against the gas tank, He torched off the old hanger and manufactured a new one on the spot, (no additional charge)
So within a half an hour of pulling it on the lift.. I was ready to go.. At the quoted price. Fast, friendly, efficient.

They give honest prices, not trying to steal anything, and excellent to buy from! They're honest, reputable, and broad knowledge of all periods. I've used other providers and nobody even comes close to them. The best antique dealers in the whole city and the best for widows trying to get rid of their estate or people trying to buy or modify ...More their collection. If you want to buy go to them, they are so knowledgeable. I will not go anywhere else. If you are in a crisis, they will calmly work with you.

The estate sale went very smoothly. We had already gone thru my Mother's things and discarded and removed the items we didn't want sold. We were later told that we may have thrown away items that might have sold. Oops! literally cleaned my mother's house, pricing, staging, and executing the sale. They did everything ...More in a timely manner and sold everything with the exception of one old chair. When the sale was over, the house was spotless. and were very professional. was paid a percentage of the total sales. The sale went on for 3 days. We were paid in cash.

handled the Estate of my Grandmother. They were most professional, and genuinely cared about our needs and concerns when it came to liquidating belongings that were so precious to us. They explained everything to us in great detail. There were two ladies that we dealt with and ...More . They were the kindest ladies we had ever met. They handled everything from start to finish. They provided signs, did all of the appraisals, took care of all of the advertising and cleaned up any mess that was made during the sale by people coming in and out.
At the end of the sale, handed us a box of things she found while she was getting the sale ready that she thought would be near and to our hearts. If she found a loose penny, then it was in that box. We were given photos, old drivers licenses, real jewelry that had been away. Any thing that she felt would be sentimental like that she made sure it was safely returned to us.
I would recommend this company based on honesty and integrity. It is very hard to find someone that you trust with your valuables. This is an A+ company and I would HIGHLY recommend at least talking to them before you sign a contract with anyone else.

It went surprisingly well. Surprisingly....only because I'm a natural skeptic.
I have some rolls of state quarters and wanted to determine what their likely value is. I've read greatly varying info on this on the internet with some claims that most are worth about $.40 ea and others that claim they are and will continue to be worth roughly ...More face value for the foreseeable future.
The gentleman that I spoke with was very "down to earth" and answered my questions at a level that a non-coin-collector could appreciate.
In the end, we concluded that though it's possible that I may have one or two quarters that exceed face value, that the likelihood is not great. He mentioned, in particular, a couple of state quarters where for one reason or another that the likelihood may be slightly greater.
Two thumbs up for any business that doesn't waste your time trying to make a dollar. If ever I decide to get a formal appraisal I will definitely choose them.

After a phone conversation and quote, I dropped the album off. I received a call that the work was done. Approximately 5 days after drop off as promised. Very please with job.

Many people couldn't find the house or even the street and confessed that she didn't want to place the GOOD SIGNS where they were supposed to go because she was afraid ...More they would be ROBBED! She thought it best to let people get lost instead of have them find the house. ( I have no idea, where she thought she was I live in a good neighborhood...actually so safe, I moved around the corner.... geez WHOLE PROCESS SHOULD BE MADE MORE FORMAL, WHEN YOU ENTER, YOU SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO SIGN IN, YOUR WALKING THROUGH SOMEONE'S HOME! TAKE YOUR ITEMS TO THE FRONT, GET CHECKED OUT - GET A RECEIPT AND LEAVE.
Having and work on a FLAT FEE vs. a percentage is also a BAD IDEA, because they have NO INCENTIVE TO SELL ITEMS FOR A HIGHER PRICE....... I WATCHED SELL A $350.00 CRYSTAL BOWL (which) wasn't for sale for $20....She didn't give a d*** that I told her it wasn't for sale to begin with and continued to sell another Crystal Ice Bucket for probably another $20. I can bet that between the two of them they sold some of the most expensive items like the Sharp Aquos 44" TV AND a similar TV plus the Snap On Tools, for pennies on the Dollar, even after I gave a price list for the tools.... I should have come away with more money than I did.
I also had to pay another $1150 for the day.
I listened to tell me how I should feel sorry for the spanish couple who live in just starting out, building a store, they bought many kitchen items and wanted me to reduce the prices on tools in the garage because the mechanics in can't afford to pay much on the $25-30/hr salary they make!. Imagine that, no being able to afford the very things that you use to make that handsome salary, geez... guess I would make a deal with the Snap On guy like everyone else does, or pay for a good deal. I said to , and the couple this is my lifes work ..... we all have a c to bare! The tools are not priced high, they can't be discounted anymore. They all got mad because I didn't fall for the sob story.
