did a great job. Completed on time and priced right. I had called
last Thursday and met with
" that afternoon. He gave a quick run thru and gave quotes of $890 for ea big tree and $2290 for all trees. These were two water maples at about 70 feet each, one box
at 30 feet and one dead cedar with the limbs removed. I decided to get all removed. Stumpgrinding was also included. A team of 4 arrived with 3 remaining and alternating with other workers during the job. Websters had all equipment needed for tree removal, chipping, and stumpgrinding. Two trees were removed the fist day, one needing the tree climber. This tree was close to electric lines and phone lines. The remaining trees were removed the following day. Stump grinding was done the next day, along with my neighbors large cedar which he had requested from
during my job. I was very satisfied with

"They were prompt and very careful to not damage the lawn or property. They did a nice job cleaning up. The crew was polite and professional. The price was reasonable." I will definitely call them again for any further tree and stump removal.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Brooklyn

Company came out on time. Had problems with faulty equipment. Didn't initially trim tree as proposed, promised to come back and finish. I didn't think final invoice reflected appropriate amount based on inclusive work all done at same time. Crown cleaning consisted of breaking off 75% of branches by hand and cutting remainder, took approximately 20-25 minutes for this portion that I felt should have been considerably less cost for what they did.

This is the most unprofessional person I've worked with on a home project. He initially came out and trimed the trees we needed trimed. That went ok, but we also needed a stump ground up. He said he would need to rent the equipment, but that he'd follow up I a few days and set up a time. That never happened. Like I said, the tree trimming went ok. They never told us when they were done and that they were leaving, and they didn't give us an invoice or ask to get paid. A week later my spouse called him, after we didn't hear anything, and because we had not paid him for the work he did do. He again committed to getting the equipment and grinding the stump and said he would follow up in a few days. He also committed to sending an invoice for the services that had been rendered to this point. Neither of these things happened. Finally, today, weeks after initially asking for the service, he sent out another contractor to grind the stump. These people showed up without so much as a phone call. There was no one home. My dogs were in the back yard. The people who came to do the work parked in the

, blocking neighbors' driveways. Again: no one was home and here had been no contact from Mr
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
for more than a week; the two people who showed up to do the work simply were not authorized to do so. Had someone called before people came to my house or even called after they got there and realized no one was home, the story would be different. Obviously we weren't happy to come home to discover this. We honestly thought he blew the job off and either forgot to send a invoice, or was too embarrassed to after not following up. So when we called to express our concern that random people were in our backyard with our dogs and that there had been contact prior people showing up to do the work, Mr

got very angry and threatening. When I stated that I didn't think we should have to pay for the stump grinding due to the reasons I outlined, he said "you will pay me god damnit it!" I hung up on him after he cussed at me. He then called back and spoke to my spouse when he threatened to show up at our house and make me pay him. I did finally get an invoice after the telephone threats, though.

Peraino, owner of

, arrived at 1:30 PM and suggested how best to trim the Elm tree and to cutback the fig tree. He gave me what I thought was a reasonable bid to trim, cutback and haul away the limbs and branches. I agreed to his price and

returned to his shop which was near by to get his equipment and crew. He returned within thirty minutes to began the job. They completed the job in less than two hours. I was more than pleased with the work performed. His crew operated like an

We had a beautiful ash tree in a confined space right next to the south side of our house. It was approx. 50' tall, and growing like crazy. We had already had the tree trimmed twice in five years and needed to trim it again. It dropped all its leaves every fall/winter and dropped a multitude of seed pods every spring. During the drought it started dropping large branches. Felt bad, but we determined we needed to remove it.
I called
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
and spoke to
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(son). He came by and provided an estimate of $1600 for removal, leaving the stump but cutting it down a few inches off the ground. (Given its location, there was no need to remove the stump.) That seemed like a reasonable price since we had paid close to $1200 in the past just for trimming.
Three men, including
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(father) came one morning about 7:45 and got to work. One climbed the tree and cut it down branch by branch. The other two captured the branches as they were lowered by rope and put them in the chipper. They worked efficiently and safely. In about 31/2 hours they had the work completed and the work space completely cleaned. At my request, they left on my front yard a large pile of wood chips, which I am using for landscaping.
I would point out that these three men, without an elevated work platform (cherry picker), did substantially more work in less time than my previous tree company's seven men with a cherry picker, who were just trimming.
My only issue - and it's a small one - was that their truck had a fair amount of cedar mulch in it from a previous job. That mulch was unfortunately dumped with my wood chips. I'm using some of the mulch elsewhere but I've had to spend some time and effort separating chips from mulch. So, if you ask
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
for chips, ask him to make certain the previous mulch/chips are removed from the truck.

Could not have gone better! To tell the truth, I did not price check this job. I was so impressed with my first encounter with
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
that I decided to go ahead with the estimate he provided. The crew showed up on time and ready to work. Their equipment was so clean and the crew's attention to the details of safety procedures inspired confidence. Although the crane wasn't strictly necessary for my job, they had it in my area for another job so they used it and it probably did speed things up a bit. Plus it was very cool to watch in action!! It was such a pleasure to work with a contractor of this caliber. I would recommend them without reservation. Both

The crew arrived on schedule and carefully removed three very large, very tall (70ft) pine trees, one of which was leaning toward the house and had limbs overhanging the house. They removed all the debris to the front of the house where it was picked up by their loading truck on the same day (we were expecting the pick up the next day). The crew ground down the stumps to below ground level and offered to grind another stump in the backyard for $30 while they were there, which saved me a weeks worth of hard work to try to remove it myself. The crew completely cleaned up the yard and removed pine needles and tiny branches from the roof. The yard was clean as if the trees had never been there.
I would absolutely use
Brooklyn Tree Services Provider Name Locked
Stump Grinding again and would recommend them highly.

I had no advance phone call that they would be coming, but I was expecting them sometime this week so it was not a surprise. The fellows did their job quickly and efficiently, and were friendly, asking at one point if it looked OK to me - which it did, of course. The limbs and debris from the trimming were picked up within an hour or two of the job. They answered my question on a branch that I feared would be close to the house.

The Save A Tree personnel did an excellent job. They arrived on time, did the work requested and cleaned up when they finished. I was very satisfied and would recommend them.
