"I called and left a message requesting an estimate and I never received a return phone call. I am disappointed with Angie's List as this seems to be the "norm"" with several companies listed!!!

"From our first contact, these guys were just outstanding. They returned our call promptly, gave us a reasonable estimate, AND did a perfect job. Our floors look" fabulous! They exceeded our expectations in every way. On top of flawless workmanship, both

Hardwood Flooring

Few home improvement choices add as much character and warmth — not to mention resale value — as hardwood flooring. But before hiring a flooring contractor to install or repair hardwood flooring, it’s important to know both its advantages and disadvantages.

There are so many things that can be done with old flooring. Here are some ways that it can be reused.

In our showroom, hardwood is the No. 1 choice made by homeowners looking to update or build a new home.

If you're looking for eco-friendly flooring, research the composition of the flooring, as well as the adhesives and glues.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.

I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.

Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

The outcome is amazing! We had four different companies come to the house for quotes and advice prior to picking
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
. The
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
bid was the second to lowest for the work, but we had a personal reference from a family member to use
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
so we knew that the work would be good even with the great pricing.
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
is extremely nice, very responsive, professional and helpful. We ran into some leveling issues and he was patient as we discussed and determined all of our options. The end result could not be any better and we feel that the pricing was great. I don't think we are the only ones either since he and his team seem to book up fast.

Unfortunately had issues with customer service regarding job quality/completion. We called the issues to
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
's attention and he did come right over, but was screaming at someone on the phone. Totally odd and inappropriate.

Vanity was damaged due to his employee stripping the hose ring upon re-install. He said nothing could be done as that person had quit working for him the day prior. The more we stood our ground, the more he became arrogant and disrespectful towards us.

The floor and shower tile was not wiped down, grout and red glue all over the place and trash (food, bottles, etc.).
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
said it's should be easy for us to do. Blamed his employee again. We told him his employees and completion of jobs are ultimately his responsibility regardless of how easy it would be. (By the way, getting the grout, glue and film off was not easy.)

He had gave us a "freebie" hall light. He said that should make up for the other issues. The light was missing parts and never installed as promised. Also failed to install a bathroom fan as agreed upon.

Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
left ranting about the 100k addition he was working on and he was going to stick to big jobs. If he couldn't handle this smaller job, hate to see what happens with the larger ones. Customer service is so important no matter how small or larger a job.

Everything was great!
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
is a real pleasure to work with. He came out the day after my call to assess the work and provide his estimate. As luck would have it, he had an opening in his schedule that allowed him to start the work immediately.
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
completed all of the work according to the agreed work plan and the quality of his work was very good. Will certainly use his services again in the future and I'm very happy to endorse him to others!!

It was great. I gathered several bids on the project and
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
was not the cheapest, but I felt would do a good job. The biggest reason was
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
was willing to put the work into making sure the whole project looked like the one continuous floor. Others said we would have to have a small transition piece to join floors that would be approx 1/2 inch different in height. Included in the price
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
quote was completely removing the existing old flooring layers and even the sub-floor if need and filling it in with plywood so the floor would be solid and the same level as the existing living room floor. We went with a very light natural wood color and it came out great. We have followed the recommendations for care and a year and a half later it still looks amazing! I plan to use
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
again when we redo the second level wood flooring.
I was also impressed as
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
was aware we were trying to get it done in time for guest arriving for my daughters wedding and worked with us to squeeze into his openings and get it done.
The only complaint I have is they didn't believe me when I said our refrigerator wouldn't fit through the door without removing its doors. He tried just removing the handles and it didn't work. He then forgot to put the handles back on before leaving. It was a minor irritation.

He came in and installed the new floor, repaired a few damaged areas and then sanded that and all the wood floors and then sealed them and put finish the floors. You cannot tell where the old floor ends and the new floor begins.

Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
was very professional, knowledgeable and had a lot of great suggestions. His bid was very straightforward and was essentially what we ended up paying in the end (no unexpected fees/charges). Installing wood floors is his and his crews forte -- when it came to installing them they knew EXACTLY what to do in order to get the job done correctly the first time. The crew was very respectful, clean, hard workers and they all spoke English -- double bonus in my book since I could ask any of them questions and actually get answers! I would highly recommend using
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
and his crew on your future flooring project.

I have seen and experienced several properties that

I called
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
at
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
& Coat. Told him that I had a blemish about the size of a basketball in my powder room floor that needed repair.
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
informed me that they had a technician working in my neighborhood and that he would have him stop by to take a look.
Watkinsville Hardwood Floor Companies Provider Name Locked
said that if the tech thought that B&C could handle it they would repair it right away. The tech came by repaired the hardwood in about 2 hours. Very responsive and professional firm. Highly recommend B&C and would definitely use them again.
