Plumbing Reviews in Savannah

One night, the float valve in our upstairs toilet -- which is pre-1970 and doesn't have a water shutoff valve -- burst, sending a jet of water to the ceiling and flooding our bathroom. We couldn't shut the water off from inside, and when we tried to shut off the main water supply from the street, we found that the shutoff valve was too rusty to move. So we called
for an emergency service, and a technician arrived quickly, shut off the water from the street using some sort of massive winch device, then completely repaired the toilet -- including installing a brand new float valve.
Since this was late-night, emergency service, I expected a huge bill. But then the tech let me know that the total was $62.50!
Couldn't have been happier with the service or the cost.

We were so pleased with
's work. This was some of the last painting that needed to be done on this house and we couldn't have asked for a better job. I had some painters prior to
that turned a 10 day job into 8 weeks and never finished. So getting
and his crew was a huge blessing.
is professional, punctual and was very responsive in a timely manner. I met
at the house on
8th to sign off on the work. While he was there I showed him where there had been a water leak in a bedroom and told him I thought it was from the AC condenser in the attic. He took a look while he was there, and fix the clogged drain from the
. He charged me nothing for fixing the drain. What a guy!! Most of all he told me when they would start the job and when they would finish. He was absolutely right on the time. It was nice to have someone who did what they say they are going to do. I would highly recommend
and will use him in the future.

and his wife first detected the exact area of the leak with a listening device. This is crucial because he was able to remove one single tile and after hammering through the slab arrived at the exact spot of the leak. He repaired it and recemented the spot up to floor level. I had to get someone else to replace the tile but this was explained and the price determined before the work was begun.
It was an expensive repair but well worth it because my whole floor was not torn up in the process. They did a very good job very well done.

The leak detector was

The serviceman told me toilet was old (approx. 25 years, as opposed to 3 other toilets I have between 35-40 years old that work fine) and needed replacing--something that RotoRooter could do for me (off course!). He told me that if he squirted a few drops of dishwasher detergent in toilet tank and it flushed easier, that meant I needed a new toilet--which, again, THEY could provide/install for me. Sure enough, toilet did flush easier after adding a few drops of detergent in tank. I told serviceman I would need to check with my husband before deciding whether or not to get a new toilet. However, I told him, I would like for him to check main line, while here, to make sure it was not somehow clogged. But, he was not able to figure out how to unscrew the cap to access the line. He told me I owed $75, and I told him I wanted to pay via credit card (which I was told was an accepted form of payment). However, he asked if I could give him a check instead. I thought that seemed suspicious and so told him I preferred paying via credit card. A couple of weeks later, when toilet flushing continued to be sluggish, I called a plumber. He removed cap to access main line, found it was clogged, cleaned it, replaced cap to clean out area, told me toilet was fine and did NOT need to be replaced, and charged me $135, In addition, he gave me some inexpensive tips on how to keep roots out of our mainline system. The toilet has been flushing perfectly since. I would never use or recommend RotoRooter services in the future. In addition to being a total rip-off, I think all they were interested in was providing/installing an unnecessary new toilet.

We had used
Savannah Plumbers Provider Name Locked
a few years ago to replace the fixtures in our tub/shower and called them for this job. We had a very old porcelain cast iron sink and wooden vanity with

top that had been put in about 45 years previous. We purchased a new vanity, sink and faucet and called Dependable to put it in. Their $200 charge to rip out the old and install the new included new water lines, drain line and all caulking. My wife was very pleased with the result.

Could not be happier. This is the person to call
on your plumbing job. Top rated knowledge and
works quickly. A very nice person. Will use for all
my future plumbing work. Very happy.

I am not happy with the cost of $240.00 to clear the bath tub and the sink drain, way over priced. Before he started, I did sign the estimate for that amount, thinking that he had to do a lot of work to get the job done. But the bath tub was an easy job; the sink took longer. The next day, I called the company upset about the price I paid, but they would not make an adjustment. and they never called back. On the positive side, the man arrived on time and was professional. .But the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt I was ignorant about plumbing and taken advantage of..... I especially feel bad because I bought the 3 year service plan for another $100.
