"Unfortunately the provider has performed quite poorly. After a month and a half, I am still waiting for my refrigerator to be fixed. From my original service request," it took two weeks for anyone to even contact me on service request. Once a subcontractor was assigned, it took another week before they were even able to come to my come to look at the refrigerator. They quickly diagnosed it needed new parts and ordered. As I write this review, they still have not come out to replace. I've called AHS and their customer service depart stated I needed to work with their subcontractor to figure out. Again I have not had a working refrigerator in 6 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous. You would think the customer service department would be all over this to rectify, but they have been less than adequate. Based on my experience I would not recommend. I hate to imagine what would have happened if my water heater or furnace broke.

"The service was prompt, courteous and satisfactory. Will probably use the company AHS assigned again, for non-emergency repairs. Was totally satisfied with how AHS handled my problem.

What's Included in a Good Home Warranty?

What separates a good home warranty from a bad one?

Home warranties

Year after year home warranty companies have topped the Angie's List most complained about category list, with nearly half of member reports in this category rating these companies unfavorably. The key behind this appears to be an expectations gap between the companies and their clients regarding what is covered and whether service calls on covered items are entirely free.

No. 1: fire stations make good neighbors. If you’re more than five miles from a fire station or more than 1,000 feet from a fire hydrant, you’ll pay several hundred dollars more per year for your policy.

First, call your insurance company and tell them you do not want any proceeds paid to the contractor under your policy as you are not going with them.  This way they can not collect money on your behalf.  Insurance will typically have you sign a form for release of funds anyway but this is a good extra step to make sure your signature isn't forged.  Second, call the contractor and tell them you will not be needing their services afterall.  Did your husband pay a deposit?  If so it may be non-refundable.  Then follow up with a certified letter.

An email as well doesn't hurt but some states don't yet recognize email as a form of communication for legally binding documentation.  This may have changed and I'm sure more states do recognize them as I haven't followed that topic elsewhere as much as I used to.  The contractor's office should be local.  A sure fire way to ensure they got the message is to deliver the letter to the office of the contractor and have someone at the office sign a duplicate stating it has been recieved and read.  There's no arguing whether they received it or not by doing that.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson about high pressure sales techniques and storm chasers looking for a quick buck.  Some people find out a much harder way.  While these guys may be legitimate you should always do your homework on a contractor before signing the contract.  Unless you have water running out of the house and the work has to be done on the spot it's not so much of an emergency that it can't wait until the next day.

Home Warranty reviews in Rossville

I have used them for small things like wall sockets and ceiling fans, they don't replace faucets .I really thought about dropping them because at 50.00/month and not using them that is $600.00 /year I could save. I guess I have Paid for 3 washers since I've used them. They could definitely be a benefit to so one with an older home. I give them a grade of A.

I will attempt this at a later date,as I have already spent so much time on this awful Westinghouse furnace. AHS also had to replace a refrigerator which took them a week to do, so I consequently lost over $200.00 in food. People should NOT waste their money one this company. Just put the monthly premium in the bank, or look for a competitor.

the plumber quoted us a price for work. It is on the high side. He claimed he had to move stuff around. that is why it cost as much. If we used our own faucet to replace the one that was leaking we would have had to pay the wjole cost, not just the service fee. the faucet they wanted to use was a cheap piece of garbage. We were going to save them the cost of a faucet but they did not like that.

Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
(AHS) used a horrible pool service company to repair my pump. This company then lied to AHS and told them that my pump had been broken for months, which would void the warranty because the pump would have been broken prior to my service contract with AHS. This was not the case. This company uses horrible contractor (in my experience) for their repairs. EVERY phone call I made to AHS I was on AT LEAST a 45 min hold. When I did cancel the entire phone call lasted 1hr 15min, 50-60 min of that I was on hold between 2-3 people. I have filed a successful BBB complaint against them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The multiple times I've called on
Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
for both my homes, they send the dumbest and cheapest technicians they could find. Even if you have something as
Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
as a clogged drain, the companies they call out can't handle it. One time I had to call Roto Rooter out after having one of their "highly vetted and trained" plumbers come out. It took him a half hour of half-

the job, then he charged me my fee and left. After he left I called Roto Rooter and they were there within an hour and unclogged the drain in 5 minutes. No problem. It cost me $115 for Roto Rooter to come out, but they were efficient. Over they years when I've had their "highly trained" technicians come out they show up, look at the problem, say they can't do anything and leave. I would wind up fighting with the people at
Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
because they will always find a loop-hole way out fixing anything, leaving you stuck with calling a real technician out and paying them the full price. I found that since I've dropped
Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
on my primary residence I've saved money. I was paying them $800 a year for my policy, and I would pay $65 for a "highly trained professional" to show up at my house to tell me the loop-hole of how
Rossville Home Warranty Companies Provider Name Locked
won't fix the issue. So now I call the real professionals out for not much more than what the service call charge was, and I don't have to fork over $800 a year.

Charged for things that did not require fixing……contract state certain coverage which they refuse to honor…dishonest at every level
- David P.

They would not make the repairs that they say are covered, always had to pay a lot out of pocket. Do not use AHS., They charge a lot for yearly contract and charge the highest copays of any home warranty. Also if you actually ask for repairs they will cancel you and not renew. Spent $700-800 for 10 years and they never seemed to cover things and each time they worked on the old furnace it was for replacement parts to keep it limping along and they would charge me $100 co pay. Do not use AHS!!!
- jennie B.

Easy submission of problem to AHS; quick reply by contractor to set appointment. Super fast determination of issue and motor replacement - he was in and out in about half an hour. Great contractor!
