Peachtree City Handyman Services Reviews
Over the past 15 years, our front steps leading to the front door had sunk nearly 3 inches creating unsightly gaps.
My daughter and son-in-law have used
For the estimate, Bill was very pleasant and listened to me and my wife to understand what we wanted to accomplish in this project. He came back a second time to get some additional information and bring us samples of material to consider. His quote comprised of two parts: 1-An estimation of materials with no markup (he would give me the receipts and I would reimburse him for his actual expense), and 2-The labor expense.
He had a delay in starting the project but we were not anxious to get it started so it wasn't a big deal for us. Bill communicated the schedule changes as they happened.
The roof replacement and skylight installation was supposed to be done first. However, the roofer was delayed so the sun room ceiling installation was done first. The sun room ceiling work went well but there were some issues. We had asked Bill to install supports in the sun room ceiling for a swing to be installed later. He and I discussed the location of the supports with the carpenter, but I wanted my wife's final buy-in on the location. Without getting her buy-in and while I was at work, they installed the supports and then began installing the new wood plank ceiling. The supports are not installed where she wants the swing. Bill offered to come back and make it right when we decide to install the swing (which we have not done yet). The blame on this is shared between me and Bill. I could have made a bigger deal about getting my wife's buy in, and Bill could have ensured that the decision was clearly made before work proceeded. The quality of the installation was good. Bill worked with us on choosing the stain for the wood. The painting quality on the trim around the wood is marginal and looks rushed. Except for the swing issue, this portion of the project went well.
The old roof was removed and replaced in one day including the installation of the new skylights. They cleaned up and removed all debris as he had committed. The roof installer installed the skylights differently than the ceiling installer had expected which left some pressure treated wood exposed next to the skylights from the view in the sun room. Bill brought this issue to my attention right away and proposed several solutions to improve the look. He had the carpenter return to the site and fix it at no extra charge. I was very impressed by Bill's responsiveness and honesty.
They also repaired a hole in our guest bathroom ceiling. The work quality was very good. There was a lot of sanding dust coated on the bathroom light fixture and on the medicine cabinet shelves. So there could have been better clean up.
All of the other construction clean up was well done except for a bucket of tar from the roof work. I found it in my garage a few weeks after the project was completed. I left Bill a message to come remove it, but I did not hear back from him. I ended up disposing of it myself.
Overall, I'm pleased with the work completed and would recommend
Four workers doing four different tasks at the same time made for quick work and they finished right up with the initial list of items.
On to the bathroom renovation that included demolition, new drywall, lots of beadboard, new tile floors, new bathroom vanity, a shower built from scratch and tiled beautifully, new toilet installation and a new clawfoot tub installed.
There was a lot of moving plumbing lines and rerouting pipes and it all occured without mishap.
They were timely, very knowledgeable, and cleaned up at the end of each day.
It was very rainey and muddy when they were working here and I have linen colored carpets with stairs.
They took the time to cover the stairs in plastic and took due care to cover the rest of the carpets as well.
I will hire them again and would highly recommend them for your next project, whatever it may be.
