Woodworking Reviews in Norcross

I called
on Tuesday 7/10/12 to set up a estimate to have a new deck and fence built at our home. I set up a appointment for Monday 7/16/12 at 1:00pm and was looking forward to getting a bid. On Thursday 7/12 I called and left a message because I had failed to realize that I had a doctors appointment scheduled at the same time. I stated that earlier or later or even another day during the week would work for and apologized for the error on my end. I never heard back from anyone. I thought about calling again to set up another date, but decided that if coming out to give a estimate to a potential client wasn't worth a phone call back than I probably should use this company. Disappointed as I saw all the great reviews on their work. As a small business owner myself I found the lack of professionalism unacceptable.

Excellent! The quote they gave me was concise and very clear. In the beginning we only wanted to paint the outside, but they pointed out damaged areas on the outside of the house and it made sense that we should get them repaired. We appreciated their honesty. They gave us a good price that was right in our budget. They were very knowledgeable and experienced in each area so we felt comfortable letting them do addional work inside the house. It was nice to have just one company do all the work from A-Z. They were professional, friendly, and always on time. I will definitely use
again and will highly recommend them to family and friends as well.

Woodworking reviews in Norcross

Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
rates an A+ in my book, and I recommend him without any reservations. He responded quickly to give me an estimate, completed the job in 4 weeks (18 work days), and did a top notch job. He was pleasant to work with, had good suggestions and ideas, arrived on-time, and I trusted him enough to give him a key, and to work alone at my condo while I went to work. He made every effort to tape and seal off the kitchen from the rest of the house, and cleaned up each night, making sure I had access to the microwave, coffee maker and fridge. He scheduled the work well, allowing me to paint over the weekend without slowing him down. Fortunately there were no delays with tile, appliance deliveries, etc. The only things that made the job last longer than he estimated were my adding jobs to the original contract, and my making him undo and redo the backsplash tile because I changed my mind about the design after it was partially done. At the end of the job he cleaned the site really well, even sweeping my downstairs neighbor's walk and patio, where sawdust, etc. had fallen. The amount paid included the following materials, as well as labor: 5 solid pine doors, 1 solid bifold door, 4 wire shelves, drywall, crown molding, base shoe, Hardibacker tile underlayment, tile "glue" and sealer, 7 can lights, 4 halogen puck" lights, various electrical outlets, switches and power cords (who knew a new electric range doesn't come with a cord?!), and miscellaneous supplies.

Overall, it was a good job. But could have been better, if the contractor took time to discuss the details of the work to be done with the client and his team lead. The only time I saw
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
, was during the initial estimate for the work. Then his team lead
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
showed up and said he's going to start the work. They tried to cut corners by replacing just the rotten portion of wood, rather than the entire piece. For eg. a portion of window sill was replaced, instead of the entire piece. Also, there was miscommunication between

said, it wasn't in the list,

Fantastic! We'd gotten quotes from other companies and Riverside's was very reasonable. They showed up promptly every day as promised, the work was done perfectly. The workers were neat, quiet and polite. Any debris was picked up after the job was done. The supervisor was always available; returned phone calls very quickly.

Work was scheduled to begin on November 18 and to be finished before Thanksgiving. It is now the day AFTER Thanksgiving and work has not yet begun. They have rescheduled twice, and promised they would be here today (Friday, November 25, 2006) at 9:00 am. They haven't arrived as of noon, or returned any of the four phone calls/pages we have made to them today. They were very punctual about showing up to give the estimate, but we won't have them do the work now. They aren't reliable.

We were very pleased with Mr.
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's work and professionalism. He was very reasonably priced, on time, and offered very good advice with regards to our needs. We will surely use him in the future.

Before installation was even scheduled, we saw and benefited from Vision's attention to detail. Because our platform inlay had to line up precisely with the inlaid pattern on the treads, accurate measurements were critical. We gave them a sketch with a rough idea of size and positioning, but
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
came out and measured much more precisely. A few days later,
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
came out and actually made a template, so there'd be no question about the exact dimensions of our platform, any out-of-square conditions, etc. Their care with this single, crucial step reassured us that we'd picked the right company for the job.
The two installers arrived as scheduled, worked as quietly and neatly as possible, and left a clean job site overnight. They even worked till nearly 7 p.m. on the first day, to be sure that we had a complete run of functional treads and safe access to our upstairs overnight. When they were finished after 2 days of work, we had a list of questions and concerns that were handled with extreme courtesy the very next day. The final step was for Vision's stain and paint guru to caulk, fill nail holes, paint and put on a final coat of polyurethane. He also arrived as promised, worked neatly and quietly, and left a clean job site overnight. He worked his schedule around to accommodate our need to access upstairs by no later than 8 p.m., which meant that he needed to finish the poly by noon on the day he applied it.
Now that our staircase is finished, we're very pleased to be able to give
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
our highest recommendation. We are picky and we were asking for a very unusual installation with a lot of detailed, custom work. If they found us to be a pain in the behind, they hid it well. All we ever saw was enthusiasm for the unique challenge we were presenting - a
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to make something truly different than a more typical bid request. Again, special kudos to
Norcross Carpenters Provider Name Locked
for her help during the design and quotation phase. Besides helping us settle on a workable pattern for our platform inlay, she also suggested new ideas for our main newel post. We had to request a custom size because the standard newels were either too small or WAY too grand for our small entryway. We just wanted the custom size and hadn't considered anything beyond that. Once we committed to custom sizing, though, she quickly said that if we were paying for a custom white oak newel, why not add a cap of walnut to truly tie it in with our unusual stairs? There was no additional charge for the wood change, so her suggestion wasn't made just to up-sell us. It did enhance our happiness with the end result, though - exactly what you'd hope when you're hiring a professional and asking them for advice.
