Trees is a first class company who provides great customer service and actually gives the customer more than they expect! This is so unusual" for today. They arrived a little early and worked throughout the day. They addressed all of my concerns with where the cut branches fall and their cleanup of the branches, leaves, etc., and left our yard spotless!
is terrific and even played in our yard afterwards with our grandson and our 2 dogs. His staff including
were very professional, respectful and courteous, and his wife
our contact in the their office is a pleasure to work with. We used
Tree Service 3 years ago, and most recently 6 months ago at our Mother-in-Laws house for tree work. They are the best and we appreciate the job they do and how they treat their customers. Our trees look great!!!

"They did a good job -- better than a previous company. They didn't leave a sloppy mess on windows or walls.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

Improper trimming leaves a dangerous situation for homeowners and can damage your trees.

Trees and above-ground power lines can safely coexist, with a little care.

Angie's Answers

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Montezuma

I purchased a $99.00 "Big Deal" for $200 worth of tree work.
Montezuma Tree Services Provider Name Locked

responded promptly and we agreed on a deal for trimming one tree. At
the time of the estimate, I indicated I may not be available the next
week and the representative understood. I received two calls the
very first week and I was out of town on both days. I was told I
could expect another call the second week but I did not receive any
calls. I contacted the vendor at the end of week three and was told
they were very busy and weather had impacted his ability to do my
work. I understood and he agreed to accomplish the work the very
next week and even asked if they could come to my home as early as
8:30 am. I agreed and waited. At the end of week four, I finally
realized that this company was not responsive and regrettably, I
requested my money back from Angie's List. Angie's List staff were
very responsive and refunded my money promptly. That was my first
and, in all likelihood, last attempt to use the “Big Deal”
program, What a shocking disappointment.
- Billy S.

My initial request for a bid was promptly attended to. My call back to schedule service was promptly addressed, and the crew came out in five days. They used equipment that quickly and efficiently did the job, chipped all the wood and branches (They did offer to cut and stack the wood in fireplace sized pieces, but I don't have a fireplace); ground the stump and returned the soil into the hole, and cleaned up all the debris. They were friendly, safety-conscious, and efficient. I was impressed with their work!

Montezuma Tree Services Provider Name Locked
shares his years of tree care knowledge and that helped us understand the process he needed to do to help our trees. Our elm is quite old and preservation was the key.
Montezuma Tree Services Provider Name Locked
not only showed us the problems with past trimmings but explained exactly why and how he intended to proceed with our tree. When finished there was quite a difference! Even passers by remarked it was like art/architecture. The bay now looks beautiful and is trimmed so light and air are available to the tree.

responded to my email inqury the same day and was out and provided a free estimate within two days. My request for an insurance certificate listing my wife and I as additional insureds was not an issue. His bid was not the highest or lowest, but was reasonable, and he had great reviews on Angie's List, a good reputation around town and was recommended by friends.

had the insurance certificate within a week and contacted us to schedule a date after
Montezuma Tree Services Provider Name Locked
would have the yard marked (which was delayed by winter weather). Two days later, Zeke and crew showed up on-time and was leaving less than 2-1/2 hours later with the job professionally done and the yard racked.

Zeke did the job the "old fashioned way" with tree spikes, a climbining belt, and a roped safety harness which he used to swing between branches. He used another rope, manned at the other end, to do controlled drops of branches and limbs that over-hung obstacles below. They were amazing!

It went well. The workers arrived promptly at the time contracted for and spent appropriate time to get the trees trimmed. They removed all the cut droppings and blew the yard clean. This was the first time I had ever had these trees trimmed. They were about 30 years old and were starting to lean. I was afraid they might fall over in a bad storm. These trees were also starting to hang over into a neighbor's yard. The cut them back so this does not happen at least for a little while. I bought the promotion from Angies List for $400.00 worth of work for $199.00. When the gentleman came out to provide me with a price to complete the work, he added anther 450.00 to the cost. A little more than I wanted to spend but the work was well worth it. My trees now look happy and rested as they don't have the extra weight they had before the trim. I would recommend company to others and I would use this company again for any additional tree work I needed.

came by to give an estimate for work I was thinking of doing. He's very courteous, friendly, and straightforward. They will clean up and haul away branches, etc. after finishing. The estimate for the job was fair. I would have no problem with hiring them for future work.
