"They're very nice. They know their stuff and they work with you very well. They do a wonderful job. I've had very few side effects from my surgery. They" have a really nice practice and a nice waiting room.

"He’s done some serious damage on my mouth, and I'm not the only person that that has happened to. I actually referred people there because I liked him," but then they had trouble with the appliances he put in and two of them ended up
him. The appliances didn't fit right, so they ended up breaking my teeth. I had to have one surgically removed, because the wire was caught between two teeth. I just kept going to the same one because I don't like change, and he was a friend. Whether or not I had an appointment, I still had to wait.

I am familiar witht he ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers across the country, in particluar, the one in Overland Park, KS.  They are a "one stop" implant center.  The doctors there are at the top of their field, and an advantage is that you have all of the specialists that will be working with you in the same place.  That would have to make communication easier between doctors.  They usually offer seminars for patients and I think, offer free consultations, which is always worthwhile.

If you chose to go the other way, some Prosthodontists will place and restore the implants themselves. In other cases, an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist will place the implant and a Prosthodontist or General Dentist restores it.   Fees can vary quite a bit from office to office and with the different options for restorative materials.  Some offer free consultations, for others, they charge a fee that might be applied to any future treatment in some cases.

The first step is to schedule a few consultations with different providers, which it sounds like you've already done.

The most important factors when deciding which practitioner to work with:
:
.1.  You should feel comfortable asking your doctor any questions so that you have a good understanding of the procedure itself, healing time and long-terem outcome, and possible complications.  Write down a list of questions and take them with you to the consultation.

2.  Ask about the experience of the practitioner. How many similiar procedures have they completed?  Have they had any major complications with any cases?  Ask to see photos if possible.

3..Figure out if it works out better for your schedule, to go to a "one stop" provider or to separate providers for the placement and the restoration of the implants.

4. Follow your instincts.  If you feel rushed, didn't get direct answers to your questions, didn't communicate well or had any other negative feelings, this probably isn't the doctor for you.

5. Consider insurance coverage and financing options.  If your dental plan covers implants and it is important to you to use a preferred provider, you will want to check your list.  Many times, insurance does not cover implants, or at least not all of the steps.  You may want to inquire about payment and financing options.

I hope this at least helps you feel a little less confused and a little more directed. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further help.
Sincerely,

As a  Dentist, I am sorry to hear about your denture nightmare and I know how frustrating that can be.  I am surprised that your doctor wasn't willing to work with you on some type of solution.  A few options would be either remaking the dentures once more,  or offering to return some of the money and have you return the dentures.   Unfortunately, the doctor has put in a lot of their time and lab expenses, but the patient also  has time and money invested.  You might try sending a letter re-explaining the problems you hand and offering an acceptible and fair solution.  Be sure to keep a copy of it and any correspondence you receive from the Dental Office.  In the event that you don't get anywhere, you have documentation of the problem.

At any point in the process, did they have you sign something saying you were happy with the denture set up?  Some practitioners will document the patient's acceptance at the try-in appointment, before the denture is processed.  At that time, changes in tooth arrangement, size and color can be made with minimal lab expense.

If the letter doesn't get you anywhere, you might try going to the governing body of the dental profession in your area.  I am a dentist in Blue Springs, Missouri, USA.  Here, we have the Missouri Dental Board  (or the Dental Division of the Missouri Department of Professional Registration.)  This is the entity that licenses us to perform our professional duties in our state.  They often have a process to file complaints against a provider if you were unable to resolve the problem yourself.   After your complaint is received, they will contact the doctor to get their side of the story, then try to mediate a solution between the two parties.

As far as a new set of dentures, you might seek out the services of a Prosthodontist (specializes in dentures and removable appliances - extra training and certification beyond general dentistry) or go to a local dental school.  The students are supervised and checked off at each step by professionals.  Most dental schools also treat patients through their faculty practices, and you can often get the services of a specialist at a lower price.

I hope this information is helpful to your situation, and I wish you well.

I was placed with Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
, DDS. I immediately notified his dental assistant as well as him that it takes me a long time to become numb with Novocain and approximately 2-4 carpules of Novocain to be effective. After approximately twenty minutes and a couple carpules of Novocain, Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
came back into the room to give me more shots during which time I winced in pain from the shot and was told that the pain was "all in my head". I found that to be extremely condescending and his general
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
was very nasty, as if I was taking up his precious time. I again explained to him that it takes me a very long time to become numb with Novocain. He was basically having a fit because I wasn't getting numb fast enough. Mind you this is an older adult and should be long past that stage. At the end of the tooth extraction (which was very arduous because the tooth broke), Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
didn't even acknowledge my existence. I wasn't set up for a follow-up visit, nor was I called later that evening or the next day to inquire as to my condition. ( I want to preface all of this information by saying that my tolerance for pain is extremely high. I have dealt with kidney stones, child birth and broken bones and they all
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
in comparison to the pain I was feeling. ) I had been experiencing extreme pain once my Novocain did wear off so I contacted the office two days later, thinking that the pain would

over time, but it didn't. I was unfortunately put in touch with the on call Doctor, Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. He was extremely exasperated on the phone with me and was acting as if my pain didn't matter and that I was acting ridiculously for even calling. After some convincing, I was able to make him understand that I wasn't going to be put off by a nasty doctor and I need to be seen as soon as possible. Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
did not like that I was refusing his explanation that this was normal pain and I insisted on being seen first thing the next morning. He made a point of telling me that he didn't know how long I'd have to wait to be seen and that my emergency wasn't that emergent compared to his patients with appointments. I waited approximately an hour the next morning and was seen by Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. He was not as nasty as Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
but enjoyed telling me repeatedly that I was "complaining" and I shouldn't be surprised by that amount of pain. All in all I would not return to this oral surgery group ever and I will let anyone with an ear know what a terrible experience it was.

The staff worked me in on short notice when my dentist recommended that I have a
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
tooth pulled. My dentist said that she has heard excellent feedback from patients that she referred to Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. I spent a while in the waiting room, which is to be expected with a last minute "work-in" appointment at a busy practice. I am really grateful that he was willing to fit me in.
The Dr. was very friendly and professional. He did a good job and even called me later that night to check on my recovery and remind me of post-op care. Somehow I left without written post-op instructions, so his reminders were very helpful. He is an excellent oral surgeon.

They were very nice. I was on vacation visiting my grandmother and wisdoms began hurting. It became an emergency because i was leaving soon. Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
made room for me the next morning after the consultation and did a checkup that Friday before i left. His staff were extremely sweet and the prices weren't bad for 5 teeth. They were willing to put me under which i wasnt able to find in nc. I was a little concerned but who isnt for surgery? He did a very good job and while im still in the process of healing, all my stitches have dissolved and very little pain as my

had to be cut open.

Oral Surgeon, Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
and the Prosthodontist Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
and have been the first to understand what I need. I was told by a friend who is a dentist what I needed and that I also probably needed an ENT. I have actually seen an oral surgeon who is also an MD specializing in ENT. (I have had sinus type attacks too difficult to describe, not sinus or allergy). It was his cat scan forwarded to these two doctors that showed the right side of my nose is completely blocked from top to bottom no matter how you turn the scan.

Because of Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
and Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
who Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
refers any patient such as myself, in three weeks, Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
will provide the first temporary smile since 2006 that I will be able to actually wear in public and look like myself, smile the same, and eat in front of others. Being single this will be a huge difference in my life having moved to
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
last year and not having a social life. I will then be getting a full mouth of implants which may take 18 months because Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
knows I need bone grafts which will make my mouth much stronger and also hold the implants better as well. Even with no implants I need these these grafts. Dr.
Fort Oglethorpe Oral Surgeons Provider Name Locked
will provide the teeth. The end result will be a full mouth of beautiful teeth that are just like my original. They are only removed once a year for cleaning. I brush them, use dental floss, etc. Just as I would my own teeth. I cannot give these two dentists higher praise since out of the ten I've seen, they are the first to actually know what I need to save my mouth, and my sinuses plus see what I cannot believe no one has seen before, the entirely blocked right side of my nose. It's like what's wrong with this picture?
