Excellent job, well done
& crew! They arrived on time, cleaned up every evening and used their time wisely during the afternoon showers. We already contracted for another job.

Estimate was very detailed, including type of paint, approximate timeline, repair work that needed to be done, and special requests we had. It was broken down so we could see the price of each category.
The job was completed slightly after the projected dates because of all the rain we had.
The contractor and the workers arrived each morning (they took parts of 5 days to complete the job) promptly at 8:00, which allowed us to discuss any questions we had before we went to work. The work included pressure washing the entire house, repairing numerous places where the wood trim was weather rotted, fixing a door frame that our dog had destroyed, taking down all the gutters, painting under them, then replacing the ones we wanted back up, and of course painting the entire house, which required two coats because of the color we chose. (Also included saving our dog's life when he fell in the pool, no charge!)
Overall they were very professional, cooperative and performed the task in a timely manner. They even arranged to work on Saturday, to do the windows and doors, so we wouldn't have to take off work.
I highly recommend this company.

His estimate did not provide me with any details. He just wrote the total amount on the back of his business card and said that would cover everything. We had another company give us a very detailed quote, including what kind of paint he used, repair work that would have to be done, and approximate time line for the job, and provisions for "if this happens, it might be more". This estimate was less than

, by $200, so that made our decision.

Painting though expensive was done well, however other areas were not. Quoted one price for cleaning up back yard and when it became a larger project than anticipated they wanted a new quote and to charge more. Oddly 2 hr lunches and kids talking entire time instead of working we were suppose to pay for. Then because they finally agreed to finish back yard at a reduced rate they wouldn't Fix or refund anything else that was not done properly without again wanting to charge more or not refund us. Caulking and fireplace were not done right and the cabinet area was forgotten about. Caulking had a gap by window and old caulk was not removed before they just went over the top with new caulk. The fireplace was bulging and the nails sticking out that were being used to hold the tile in place didn't work. The marble tile was ruined and glue all over it and as it turns out not cut right. They actually wanted us to pay for the fireplace afterwards even though we had to incur the costs of replacing all of the marble tile to redo the project correctly. At the end they said they would refund us the money for the fireplace after yelling at us at our house that it was done right but never did.

Took a little while to get to my project since he had other projects ahead of me. But once they got to work, everything was completed in 4 days. They were easy to have in your home, very cordial, just nice people. Their work was very neat and they were very thorough. Cleaned up after themselves and hauled everything away. Paid half up front (to cover purchase of supplies and doors) and the remaining balance when they job was complete. Their price was very reasonable when compared with other quotes. The carpentry work was excellent - their work was superior to what was done when the house was built 15 years ago.
They also painted the interior of my mother's home. Again, they were very neat in their work and made sure everything was back in place before they left.
I would highly recommend and will definitely use them for future painting/carpentry needs.

I have always done my own interior painting. I'm no pro, but I am really, really picky about paint and was always skeptical of paying someone I felt might not be as picky as I am. I will keep at it until I feel it looks great.
But, due to some stressful personal circumstances that came up for me in the middle of a huge remodel, I decided to take some of the stress off myself by hiring a pro to paint our new, open living room/dining room/kitchen area that has been created by the remodel. I did this so I could not have to worry about the details (such as how to deal with painting over oil-based paint on my trim) and so the place would look fantastic. I had hoped a pro would do a much better job than I could.
When Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
came to give the estimate, he was very picky about pointing out flaws in the drywall that needed to be touched up. Based on his pickiness and attention to detail when he gave the estimate (including criticizing the brush strokes in the one coat of primer I had put on) I thought he was as picky and detail-oriented as I am, only more skilled, and I had total confidence he would do a fantastic job.
However, that did not happen. Before Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
started, I walked through and went over what he was supposed to do, and I mentioned I had not gotten all the wallpaper paste off from the wallpaper border I had removed. He assured me he would clean it off. (I assumed as a pro he'd have TSP or similar handy and it would be a snap.) I also again mentioned the oil-based trim and told him I'd bought a water-based primer that claims to bond to oil. I assumed he would scuff sand it as every single pro I've seen comment on any professional painting forum has always said scuff sanding is essential on a shiny oil finish.
Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
said he wanted to spray on the primer to get a better finish, so I agreed. I told him he didn't need to cover the plywood subfloors. However, spray residue got everywhere in my house, including on an antique doorknob I love and on windows. I had a horrible headache all day from the fumes. On top of that, it did not create a better finish. The finish was terrible and uneven with huge drips everywhere -- much worse than my priming brush strokes Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
had pointed out during the estimate phase. In some places, the primer was so thick that it did not adhere well and I ended up scraping off the thick parts, which were so thick that they could actually be peeled off. Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
also sprayed my shiny oil-based trim without scuff sanding first. The primer did not adhere well for that reason, and it can be scraped off with a fingernail. This creates a huge hassle for me as I have to either sand it all off or hire someone to do so.
Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
also said he cleaned off the wallpaper paste as requested, but the area where the wallpaper was is lumpy and uneven and I can see it has not been cleaned. So, the wallpaper paste now has a
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
of primer on it, creating another headache for me to try to clean up.
I can honestly say I'm not sure I'll ever hire another professional painter again as I have no idea how to find one who is as picky as I am but more skilled. I can do a lazy prep and so-so paint job myself, for free.
I explained the problems to Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
and he was very nice and apologetic about it. He offered to hand-sand off all the primer he put on the trim, and said it would take all day. He also said the $850 estimate he gave me was just for painting, while I assumed a painting estimate would include prep because everyone knows prep is a huge part of a nice-looking paint job. I would have at least assumed Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
would have told me what needed to be prepped before he arrived if he wasn't going to do prep. Because the final product reflects on him. Then we could have negotiated a higher price from there for prep to be included.
I offered Mr.
Columbus Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
the option to stop the job, cut both of our losses and I would pay him for the work already done. He ended up not accepting any payment from me, which I thought was very nice and showed that he has integrity and cares what customers think. However, why not insist on including prep in every estimate and making sure your skills and technique are up to par to satisfy even the picky customers?
I was very leery of hiring a painter and now I am not sure I'd trust anyone. I'm not sure what I'm going to do to fix the errors that were made, and I probably have a long weekend of work ahead of me. I'm very disappointed.

and his crew did a "top notch" job from start to finish. The estimate was completed in a timely manner after a survey of the work needed was performed. The ceilings and walls were covered with 2 coats of high quality paint exactly as I ordered. The work was completed in less time than I had anticipated and the results were great. There were no drips or spots (everything was covered with care) and they even offered to clean the floor (which was not needed). I would recommend these folks to anyone who is in need of a painting job, large or small.
