Columbus HVAC Contractors Reviews

"The air duct replacement was completed quickly. At first, the air ducts were quieter and seemingly performed better. However, since the installation the ducts have become noisy and there is no noticeable difference in the air distribution throughout the home. The main
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
rattles as well as a kitchen vent. The air duct replacement did qualify for an official utility company rebate and was supposed to improve airflow. The dust accumulation on the
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
has decreased and overall there may be a slight decrease in dust accumulation with the older ducts being quite dusty.
The installation of the insulation was very expensive and there has been no noticeable difference in heat retention within the home. Insulation was added to the old to increase the r-value from around r-9 to r-38. Also, baffles were added along the sofitt vents to improve airflow inside the attic. Additionally, can lighting was sealed and entry-points for dust were also sealed (i.e. fan boxes, lighting fixtures). Newer can lights were sealed with spray foam and "tin caps." Old can lights were sealed with tape and spray foam. Insulation was spilled into a can light, which is a potentional fire hazard with no regard for safety. All in all the cost did not seem to justify the means, which improved the dust marginally. The work order was not followed per the customer's request, which resulted in a refund for work not completed.
While each individual case is different, the cost vs. pros for this professional service seemed to outweigh any benefits. While this review is posted during the beginning of winter months, hopefully the heat retention from the added insulation will improve energy costs. The customer service was good, while the customer requests were not followed completely. We had to repeat the work details many, many times and this was not what we expected from a professional service. I would recommend this company for any A/C installation or duct work, however insulation would be skeptical.

"Before I bore you with the details I wrote this because in my experience with
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
Columbus, I found them to be unethical and possibly fraudulent.
My 80+ year old mother had a maintenance contract with
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
Columbus, GA to service her central natural gas heater and A/C system. I don't live in Columbus, but visit my mother at her home a couple of times a week. One winter Sunday I stopped by and her house was freezing cold. She explained that
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
had come by earlier that week to do scheduled maintenance and turned off her heat. They had also sent out a salesman to offer her a new system to replace the disabled one for a few thousand dollars! I contacted
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
who gave me the run around, but they said their technician had found a problem with her heater and "by law" had to disable it. I'm a reasonable person so I can see that if it were dangerous, but I know for a fact the heater was working fine the day before they came for maintenance. They would not send someone out to enable the heater and would be days before they could replace it (funny the salesman had come the same day they disabled the heater). Since my mother had already gone a couple of winter nights without heat, I told them I would call them in the morning.
I examined the heater and found no problems so I enabled the heater myself so that my mother would at least have heat that night. I also called the company I use for my home and had them come out the next morning to do an inspection. The heater worked fine all night and when the other inspector came he found nothing wrong with it. That heater has been working for a few years now without any repairs. The reason I had not reported this sooner is that I just rejoined Angie's List last month. Needless to say my mom fired
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
. Left my shut in mother without heat for days during the winter and tried to scare her into buying an expensive replacement heater she didn't need. If trying to rip off little old ladies isn't bad enough, leaving them without heat in the winter in order to make a sale is about as low down as you can go. I need to verify then update the date and the cost of the system she didn't need. To their credit, they did offer her free maintenance for a year, but we could never trust them in the house again.

"Mr.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the owner, came out to check out our problem. Apparently, we needed a new air handler, which is why our heat wasn't working. The one we had was very old and had had a meltdown and wasn't compatible with the other part of he unit. (Someone had apparently just had part of the unit replaced years ago.) Mr.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was as nice as could be and very professional. He said he was able to get us in right away, so we'd have heat for Thanksgiving!
Mr.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
personally came out with his crew and gave instructions as to what was to be done. The men he had working for him were very nice and capable as well. When I told Mr.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
that I had also been wanting a new thermostat and covers for the air returns, he personally went to the supply house and bought everything, including a box of filters of each size. (He had asked me if I wanted him to get those for us too.)
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
got our new air handler installed in one morning and we had heat by lunch time. This is one of the best service provider's we've ever had. We'll definitely call them again for any heating/A/C issues we have in the future!

"Our A/C stopped working on Sunday night (26 Aug 2012). I called
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Monday morning to find out they were booked solid until the next day. I scheduled an evening appointment with them for Tuesday.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived at my house as I was leaving work. By the time I got home (roughly 20 minutes), he was done and had my bill ready.
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
replaced the parts that were bad, and as always, he checked the freon levels to make sure there were no leaks. Everything was quick and painless. They accept cash, but they prefer credit/debit for driver safety and customer convenience.

"After a service call from
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
Services that said we needed to replace the entire unit, I called
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
. They have ALWAYS done a great job for me since the late 80's when I lived in
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
.
I called
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Saturday, 9/8 to set up a service call. A technician on call said that they could be there on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. They came on Monday afternoon. Additionally, the dispatcher suggested that I get a maintenance plan, that they would start immediately so that I could get an immediate discount on this repair.
The technician called to tell me his finding. The unit DID NOT need to be replaced. The repair AND prepaid maintenance agreement was about $525.
Excellent customer service and work! I highly recommend

"I believe he worked on my AC around June. I can't remember the exact date. All I can say is that he is very good at what he does. I called Energy Savers but was turned down because they can't take any new customers at that time. So I called
Columbus HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he came by to help me with my AC problem. Turned out that my capacitor was no longer functioning. He replaced it and I'm back in business. I strongly recommend this company. I truly believe his pricing is fair and honest."

"They were professional and timely. They back up their stuff. If I had a problem I would call them and they come right out. The air went out and it was extremely high like 100 degrees weekends or something. The guy came out and he was charging me the weekend fee like a little extra but it was a regular working day. He serviced it and gave me pointers on maintenance."

"Air conditioner had stopped producing cold air. Upon closer inspection, the outdoor unit was no longer running. Serviceman arrived within 1 hour and opened the access panel on the outside unit. The serviceman recognized with one look that the capacitor was blown. The same repair man had been to my house 18 days earlier to fix a bad electrical connection on my indoor unit, so he only charged me for the price of the capacitor as part of a 30 day guarantee on his earlier work. Normal hourly charge is around $65, but goes up to $90 for emergency calls after normal work hours. He was competent, courteous, and professional."

"From the initial phone call to the actual performance of the maintenance services, their staff was friendl and professional. "
