"Great! I went to
, the salesman, did a great job of finding the laminate we had install in another room 7 years" ago from a different retailer. He called the manufacturer to see if it was in stock, then came to measure, and order it immediately. Installation was the exact day I wanted it. The crew came early got right to work and finished that day, I had purchased the quarter round and painted it but the crew installed it for me. It was perfect in the corners and the seams, - no gaps! I had gotten 2 other estimates for this job and
were by far the best price. Almost $800 less than another floor store! They also didn't nickel and dime you for every little thing. They installed the quarter round for free. Another store wanted to charge 16 cents a foot to install it. We will do the entire upstairs within the next year in new floor covering and for sure
will be the ones to go to.

-Mary V.

"Absolutely great!
arrived promptly at 0900 and began work. They first removed the" old carpet and padding, did a few other things they needed to do before installation, and then here comes our new carpeting! They were extremely polite, confident and professional. Additionally we met our salesman,
, at the
store a few months earlier when we first began looking for carpeting. He listened to what we wanted, found samples, made suggestions, and in the end, everything was exactly what we wanted, including the rug that actually fits beneath our extremely large dining table.
was quite professional, but the more we met with him, the easier our relationship became until he felt like an old friend. He is a hoot and we couldn't be happier that we got to work with him. we've even invited him to our house so he can see the final results of our remodeling. Thank you

-Veronica P.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Flooring reviews in Carrollton

I called
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
after I realized I was in over my head with a DIY project. I closed on a condo and had less than 5 weeks to knock down two walls, move all the electrical, level the concrete subfloor, install the hardwood, and paint the place. Needless to say, after one day of not so awesome floor leveling with me and a friend, I conceded and started calling around.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
answered the phone right away and came to provide an estimate the next day.
Originally, I wanted him to just level the floor, and he quoted $900. That is a really good price considering leveling compound costs anywhere from $20-30 a bag and we needed a lot of leveling. He offered to do the floor installation for another $1,500 (I provided the padding and floor so this was just the installation). Based on all that was going on, I said yes. I was moving into the condo with all my stuff and animals in a week, and he moved jobs around to be able to finish for me ahead of time. Once he was about done with the floors, he offered to do the baseboards, and again he offered me a price I couldn't refuse.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his team were very quick and professional and reasonably priced.

VC was great from the very beginning when
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
came to my house to measure. That same day I received the estimated cost of the work to be done. I also received estimates from three other business. While VC was the most costly, the second company was only $300 less so VC lowered their price to meet the competitors price.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
called within a couple days of signing the contract to schedule the work. Sent an email explaining what my responsibilities were regarding removing nic-naks, pictures, etc. Then a week before the installers were scheduled he called again to confirm the appointment and see if I had any questions. Two installers arrived this morning around 8:00. They worked quickly and efficiently. Took up the old carpet and pad and hauled them away; took away all boxes and wood scrapes away as well. Moved the large pieces of furniture around. They left around 4:30. Job completely finished and beautiful. The installers were fantastic.

I will detail all the unequivocal facts. Any slight variation from the facts that I present is pure fabrication. In providing the facts, you can make your own determination of what occurred on that day.
1-Approximately 30 minutes prior to the arrival of two representatives from B&G flooring, I questioned myself whether to move the ring and unfortunately I did not.
2-My son and I ran two errands during the time that the two representatives were performing the work in my home. One was to Trader
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
's and the other was to buy the employees lunch. For one of the errands, I gave them a very specific time that I will be returning home. I did appologize to the employees that it was later in the day and I didn't feed them yet.
3-Upon returning home from one of the errands, I noticed employee A cleaning something at the kitchen sink.
4-The employee's from B&G flooring left my home at precisely 2:02pm with the intention of returning the next day to complete the work.
5-At precisely 2:12pm, I noticed that my wife's engagement ring was missing. I contacted the owner (
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
) immediately and told him what happened.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
informed me that he was unable to reach them for approximately 25 minutes. He finally reached them and they returned to my home approximately 45 minutes later. Representatives from the Nassau County police department were already on the scene.
6-One of the offficers informed me that he questioned employee A about going anywhere after he left my home. Employee A said he did not go anywhere. The officer informed me that he had an ice cold slurpee from 7-eleven sitting in his truck.
7-The same officer checked the wallet of employee A. He had $1400 sequentially and a couple of small denomination bills seperately. I have rhetorically questioned numerous people that make a nice livining about going to work on Monday morning with excess of $1400. They all basically laughed at that notion.
8-Employee A and Employee B completely denied any inviolvement in the disappearance of the ring. Although there was no witness to the ring disappearnace, the lead detective stood in my kitchen and stated to me, "I know one of them took/stole the ring" His partner was also present during this statement.
9-Although 2/3 of the work was completed, at no point did
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
EVER ask for monetary compensation for the work completed.
10-Since there were no actual witnesses, we were unable to sucessfully litigate criminally or civilly.
Summary-My biggest issue with
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
was that he showed zero responsibility for the disappearance of the ring. If employee's come into my home, I would expect the owner to show a certain degree of responsibility and I am sure most of you would feel the same. In my opinion this was not the crime of the century, regardless if there was an actual witness to the dsappeaance of my wife's ring. You can make your own determination of what happened, but I believe the facts clearly showed what happened on 6-2-14...

Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
were very easy to work with. They returned calls quickly and were flexible as far as scheduling flooring sample reviews. After just two visits with
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
, we had picked the perfect hardwood and scheduled an installation, which took only one day. When I didn't have the right baseboard paint for the installation crew, they used their own. The whole process was faster and easier than I thought it would be, and
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
helped me with a payment plan. I'm very happy with the results, and I've told all of my neighbors about Door to Door Flooring.

+ 3 men spent five days putting new MetroFlor Engage flooring in my entire home. Before the start date they came out to my home to take the 5000 pounds of flooring that was shipped to put in my home to adjust to the climate.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a quiet orchestrator of the job.At the end of every single day, they cleaned up every single morsel and put it away until the next day. They were so careful moving my furniture. And, at the end off the day, made sure that things were carefully put back exactly where I wanted them to be.
No time was wasted. Everyone was polite. Interestingly he was the only contractor who did not take a deposit before starting work.
He is an honest and good man, who has honest and good people who work for him. And, they know flooring.
My new floors and baseboards are gorgeous ! Thank you for a job expertly done

We contacted
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
for a bid. We had two other bids in hand and his was competitive. We were looking for tigerwood and
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
provided a sample. When I was unsure of the color, he sent over a number of planks so we could really get a feel for the color variation in tigerwood.

's crew completed the work on all 3 rooms in one day - working til 10 pm, with our approval. Trim work was completed the next day.
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very responsive to texts I sent him - answering very quickly. Crew was professional and the flooring turned out beautiful. Highly recommend.

Here's my hard wood flooring saga: We recently moved into a house. The first floor was half carpet and half hard wood. We wanted to get rid of the carpet and put in wood to match. We used Angie's list and contacted six "A"-rated companies. Three never contacted us back. One guy wanted a floor sample before coming out. (Was I supposed to rip up a chunk of my floor?) Only two came out to give estimates. One guy was late (didn't call to let me know), a little stand-offish, and didn't get me an estimate for almost TWO days. Then there was
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
: He was actually early to the appointment, gave me a written estimate right there, and was really friendly. (Yes, his estimate was hand-written, but he made sure to go over every point with me.) Obviously, we contracted him for the work. He was on-budget and on-schedule. Whenever we had concerns, he immediately talked things through with us. The job just finished, and it looks really good. I think it's nearly impossible to 100% match 30 year-old wood, but
Carrollton Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
came very, very close. Also, he personally came out to our house on a Saturday to install some carpeting on one of our staircases (looks great). By the way, his cost was a LOT less than the other guy's estimate. Overall, great experience.

We acquired our current home last December. It's a beautifully charming home, but the dining/hallway wood floor looked old/faded. M&M brought the floor back to life, exposing a beautiful natural wood. The team was professional, friendly, competent and very thorough - we're very happy and feel we got good value from this 'investment'...M&M wasn't the cheapest, but they moved fast and efficiently.
