Home Remodeling Reviews in Canton

We contacted
(Owner of Company) and asked him to come & discuss finishing our basement. He came and helped us with the design and also gave us suggestions on how to cut costs without cutting quality. He also helped us choose the materials we used for the basement. Before he left everyday, he would make sure the site was clean and ready for the next day. He also did extra work without charging us more. Before we found
, we had received another estimate from another contractor. We found his ideas for our basement did not give us a "custom" look nor a good use of the space.
provided us with a beautiful and unique basement which exceeded any and all expectations. We fully intend to use
again for any and all future projects.

They just completed a big job at my house - to finish in our basement. And I felt compelled to rate them.
These guys are the next generation contractors.
1. Excellent communication skills - They have embraced technology, you are able to reach them anytime of day. They return phone calls immediately. In the morning they would let me know what was happening that day and in the evening they would let me know what got accomplished. Amazing!
2. Stayed on budget - Contractors I have dealt with in the past underbid to get the project then nickel and dime you thru out. Never happened with these guys.
3. Visible - They are present during the job. Some contractors come to sell you and collect money then you never see them again till its time for more money. Not the case with
4. Above and Beyond - They went with me to pick out tile, paint and light fixtures. What contractor does that???
Bottom line is - I would use them with any job I had large or small. Great positive, upbeat, knowledgeable, "get it done" contractors.

& Remodeling came to our home, took measurements and pictures. They got back to us within a few days with a quote. At this same time we were having them remodel our kitchen and powder room (I left that review in the kitchen remodeling section). The flooring people were very professional and accommodating. I initially did not want to replace my steps, I just wanted them to refinish them. However, once I saw the beautiful new floors, I decided I wanted new stairs, they replaced them the next day and stained them. This was a great relief because it kept us from being inconvenienced by having to move out of our house twice. From start to finish the floors took a little under a week. The finished product is great. It makes the entire house look

Absolutely outstanding work and a craftsmanship. Most of the framing and carpentry work was performed by the owner himself. Very personable and responsive to inputs from the client. Changes or suggestions during the work were always welcome and quickly accommodated. Subs for dry wall, paint, and electrical were on time and cleaned up after themselves. All construction was finished on time as promised and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

were awesome. They will turn your ideas into the dream basement you've always wanted!!!!

Castle Painting was amazing. They came immediately for the estimate and once the details were hammered out, they started work immediately. Everyone was polite and professional. They were considerate of our needs and worked with us on the timeline that we needed. They were innovative in the solutions to problems that came up and if I was unhappy with any aspect of the work, they fixed it immediately.

spent an exorbitant amount of time on site overseeing the work and we did multiple walk-throughs making punch lists. They worked with our budget and made appropriate suggestions to save on budget without cutting corners or settling for sub standard material. Thank you Castle Painting for giving me the best dream home I could of imagined!

The project went great! We had just purchased a home that had been vacant for a year, and we had Castle do the exterior paint job & wooden fence installation, as well.

was very helpful in selecting the flooring to used and we were able to get it through Castle at a great price. The results are beautiful and we are very happy. We would use them again and will recommend them to others. My company had used Castle in the past and they did a great job there. too.

We are very pleased with the results. We had three companies bid on the job and went with

due to price and previous work.

and his crew were always professional and are experts in the home building business. The job was priced on a square foot basis and when we made changes or asked for additions the price remained the same. I wanted to replace our electric cook top in our kitchen to gas and had to have a gas line run in the basement prior to finishing the ceiling. I had quotes from a plumbing company for $600 to do this job.

had it done for free. The job took about 6 or 7 weeks. My only regret was not finishing the basement sooner.

I chose this company for this service because of the comments on Angie's List. The company did finish on time and cleaned up well. I was very pleased with the quality of their work as well. I would definitely call them again.

Overall we where so pleased that we had to write this review because we give this company all A's!!!! Outstanding service! Attention to detail and pricing fair!

What a disappointment and a regrettable waste of money.

was friendly from the start and throughout the process. His co-worker never said anything nor identified himself, so I can't speak to him being friendly or not. I had purchased a deal for "8 hours of handyman service for $199" to have some trim around the outside of the house and a post under the back deck replaced.

came with one co-worker and offered four hours of work since there were two men present claiming that they could get twice the work done in half the time which would equal 8 hours. They arrived at approximately 12:30 p.m. The two men went to Home Depot to get materials and returned to begin working (after enough time had gone by that I almost called them to see where they were).

did not give me a receipt and when I called him the next day to ask for it, he replied "Ah, s**t, I forgot" which doesn't come across very professionally. When I left the house at 3:30, they were still there working and had left when I returned home around 5:15. They had replaced the trim above the garage door, but had not bothered to match the moulding at the ends, so it was not put back up the same way it was when taken down, and now it does not match the trim above the other garage door. Additionally, there is an area of unpainted siding exposed at both ends of the trim now that was covered by the end moulding of the original trim. I had shown

two separate times which four pieces of trim above the brickline that I wanted replaced and, for whatever reason, he chose to only replace two. It was obvious only two were replaced because two of the cracked pieces of trim were still there when I got home. Additionally, his partner who had swept up some of the debris took my broom. When I called

about this, he said he would be back in my direction "in a day or so" and he would drop of the Home Depot receipt and the broom. He added that he also wanted to put some silicone around the flashing he'd put over the garage door. This was Tuesday, 4/23 and I've heard nothing from them, which doesn't really surprise me. He still hasn't called and I doubt he will. So, here's what I got for four hours of work, $199 in fees and $141.00 in materials: trim over garage door replaced, two of four pieces of trim around brickline replaced, two pieces of trim around base of front porch post replaced and aforementioned pieces painted. The deck post was not even a consideration in
Canton Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's mind which he didn't bother to mention, but I gathered as much when he returned from Home Depot with no 8x8 on his vehicle. It doesn't bother me so much that it took two men four hours to do this work as it does that they simply chose not to do two of the four pieces of trim, took my broom, kept my receipt, didn't follow up as he claimed he would and did a halfway job on the garage trim by neglecting to match the ends to the other trim. Later, I went to Home Depot and got a copy of the receipt myself. He bought three tubes of caulk and two of silicone. They didn't use three tubes of caulk on the trim and used none of the silicone, so I guess that was just my free gift to them... in addition to my broom. The whole operation was unprofessional and just kind of shady, more like something you'd expect by hiring someone off Craigslist than Angie's List. I haven't bothered confronting
Canton Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
about these issues because he presents as the type who will have an excuse for everything. He's not professional, works with no sense of urgency and customer service is not a priority. He presents more as someone who wants to do the minimum and do it the quickest way possible, who is ready to make an excuse for any issue you might have with his work.
Canton Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
really is just kind of a cut-rate operation whose quality is that you'd expect from a business you found in a flyer by the gas station checkout counter than it is what you'd expect from a professional business.
