"Went very well. The crew moved to different priorities as we identified them and worked hard all day. Climbers were great to watch. This job was a fixed amount" of time and they asked with plenty of time to spare if we preferred a good clean-up (they were ready to do an immaculate clean-up) or spend more time in the trees. We went with the trees. Limbing the tree down over the septic field was tough and one of the trees they climbed to prune hung over a busy intersection. They were prompt in calling after purchasing the deal. Did a little up selling and accomplished everything I was looking for and came when they said they would. A very good experience.

"We met with
on Tuesday to evaluate what needed to be done and he quoted us $425 for removing some large high limbs off of our roof from 2" different trees, removing two small trees and grinding the stumps out. On Thursday, his crew came and did all of the work. They were friendly and did a GREAT job, exactly what we asked for and they even hauled away some extra debris from our backyard at no cost. They did a great job cleaning up and we couldn't be more happy with the job they did. A+

Hiring to Trim Trees? A How-to Guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Albany

The company is normally great to work with, and I appreciate their understanding when things go wrong. Unfortunately, this one time, they had issues getting my request into their computer system. While this could have been incredibly frustrating, it turned out to be very positive. They listened to my concerns, bent over backwards to make sure that things got dealt with promptly and did an AMAZING job on the work that they did. I appreciated that I could always get a human on the phone and that they made sure that the work got done well.
I had needed the trees and shrubs taken out prior to replacing windows and they had forgotten to put the order in the computer to get scheduled. When they realized this mistake, they immediately found a way to get the trees dealt with the very same day so that things were cleared out for the window replacement. I was pleased with the customer service and the quality of the work and would trust that, as they figure out their computer systems, they will continue to be an excellent company.

I have attempted three times to schedule work with
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
. I sent a request for scheduling through Angie's List on 7/22, and have followed up twice. It is now 7/30 and I have never heard from them.
I'm very disappointed as they had the equipment I felt would be needed for my situation, their prices seemed reasonable from the other reviews I read, and (until now) they had an A rating.
- Dorothy K.

We were initially disappointed that the man who came to give us an estimate didn't realize the
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
was sick. But after that somewhat rocky start things improved 100%. The two young men who came to do the work were great: cheerful, careful, and very skilled. Because removing the
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(instead of just trimming it) was added to the day's work, they worked tirelessly in very not temps. We have gotten so many compliments on how the locust now looks! We were also impressed at the careful clean up job these two young men did after hours of work.
- Liz D.

Called and got an immediate response. Someone was at my house 30 min later to give me an estimate on time and cost. His crew finished the work two days earlier than estimated and cleaned up EVERYTHING!
I am so very pleased with the interactions, the honesty and the work that was carried out! Not only would I recommend this company, but I plan to use this service again!
- Richard S.

It went very well. I feel his price is fair, fairer than most. His workers cleaned up well and they had a very good knowledge of tree types and tree pruning. I live in a heavily wooded area and they opened it up a bit. I plan to have them come back for further work in the fall.
- robert F.

They were extremely professional! Took down the trees safely, cleaned up everything, were very friendly and professional. I can't say enough good things about the hard working crew! They did a fantastic job!!
- Veronica B.

I have used
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
throughout the years, and can recommend them wholeheartedly.
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
is an experienced arborist, and has a very professional crew. After having received a notice from the Fire Dept. Brush Clearance Division about some problems found when inspecting our property, I called
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
, and they set up an appointment within a few days. They showed up on time, trimmed our trees including palm fronds on our
Albany Tree Services Provider Name Locked
and did a super job. Extremely professional company and a pleasure to work with!!!

Very professional company. Got initial estimate, set up a date and time for the work and the crew arrived promptly at the time specified. Got the job done and cleaned up in about 1/2 hour. Also, they provided a much more reasonable price for the work than other estimates I had received. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly.
