Deck Building reviews in Saint Petersburg

My old steps were really bad. Looked bad, steep, narrow tread, wobbly handrail. A difficult installation, many factors had to be considered that I never thought about. Involved some exterior plastering eventually. Stairs are really beautiful now. The rock facing Irv used is beautiful. These stairs are such an improvement, words don't express it. Irv is a great guy, easy going, knowledgable. Very fair price and a great result. This is not a

project by any means. Very satisfied.

PLEASE DISREGARD MY PREVIOUS POST OF 4/25/13. This providers work was actually of very poor quality 4 months later. The sand in between the pavers was already gone in some spots. Since I was told we had a year warranty I decided to wait until the year was almost up so all spots that were no longer there could be repaired. We were also going to hire them to expand our driveway a bit. After two weeks of calling I get the same message to call back in a couple of days. Please do yourself a favor and do not hire this company or this person. Our driveway pavers are in worse shape now then they were before we had them do any work at all. We now have to have this done all over again in less than a years time.

From initial estimate to completion of the project,
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, and especially
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, the project manager, were a pleasure to work with. Despite numerous issues that cropped up during the construction of the deck,
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
was highly flexible and proposed solutions to any problems as they occurred. Not only was the project managed very well by
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, all of his crew were professional and very courteous to us during construction. At every turn,
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
always emphasized quality. There were a number of delays due to weather and permitting that occurred on this project; but,
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
always kept us informed as to what was going on and his estimate of when work would be moving forward again.
In the end, we have a very beautiful and extremely well-built deck in our back yard that we will know will last for many, many years. We couldn't be happier with
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
and look forward to working with them on future projects.

With very low tide and clearer water this time of the year (December), we noticed 2 of our dock pilings were in dire state, with large holes in the middle, making our dock very shaky. We were concerned it would fall apart at the next storm. We called 4 different dock companies.
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
was the only one that called back that same day, within the hour of our original call. Bill, the owner, come & gave us not only an estimate, but explained in details everything he was planning on doing, and why, and also gave us some options, explaining the pros & cons of each. From the get go, we knew we wanted to do business with
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
. We did have other estimates from 2 other companies, but they did not seem to have much experience or professionalism. Bill's crew from
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
completed the work while we were out of town, kept in very close communication with us through the process, took pictures of their work, hauled the old piling away, left the place super clean. Once the work was complete, Bill did a walk through with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied, which we are. We highly recommend
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
for their outstanding work, punctuality & professionalism.

Patio and the glass wall were done very well. Terrific results. Company was a bit difficult to communicate with, but a fairly minor issue. Prompt, courteous, professional. Good clean up after the project(s) were finished. Would use again and recommend their services.

They seemed very nice to work with and eager to please, but when the work was done there was no supervision and when we were dissatisfied with a number of issues they agreed we had reason to be unhappy and said they would fix all of the problems but they did not. They had nothing but excuses. The walkways have an uneven finish, and there has been some peeling already and it was less than a year. Our pool deck had to be redone from the get go because it wasn't done correctly and we had to pay another $800 to have it redone with a single

finish, which has since begun to peel off terribly. They claim it is because of moisture, but we never had this problem before and they refuse to fix the problem. I would definitely advise anyone to stay clear of this company. The come across as eager to please but do nothing to rectify the problems!

was able to get this done at all, given its rained almost every day since May this year was qiute an achievement! As the rain kept the work at bay on and off for awile I was getting worried. However, the work when completed was top shelf and the end result is one of the better decks i personally have seen. I could not be more pleased and would not hesitate to recommend this company.

This is an excellent family-owned company that does a great job and stands behind its work.
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, the owner, really knows pools—which is more than I can say for some of the other reps of pool companies that we have dealt with (and had out for estimates on this job). Our pool was a fine specimen at one time but now is old and it had settled, causing two cracks in the pool interior that extended up into the tile on two sides. Several years ago we hired a company to reinforce the pool (pumping cement under the cool deck and patching the cracks. About seven years ago we hired another company to resurface the pool interior with Crystal

, but they did a shoddy job (not using a bond coat before applying the new surface over the marcite). Needless to say, after a few years the new surface starting coming up. There were huge patches of surface material that came up, revealing the old marcite here and there. Parts of the remaining surface bubbled as water seeped under it. What a mess. We called several pool companies for estimates to fix the pool and make it presentable (but we did not want to spend a huge amount of money with all the bells and whistles).
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
was a stand-out for several reasons. He obviously has a lot of experience and knew what he was talking about. He had great ideas that allowed us to keep the old Spanish tile, which we liked (and didn’t want to spend money replacing). (Other companies said we’d need to replace the tile, but
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
said he could shoot hydraulic cement into the cracks behind the tiles...and the water never goes up that high anyway).
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
also knew that, although we had puttied around it, the old skimmer was in perfect shape. (One other company rep, who didn’t know pools very well, had looked at our amateur puttying and said the skimmer would need to be replaced.)
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
also said that instead of resurfacing the cool deck, he could patch it with hydraulic cement and apply a nice and very durable stain. This was huge savings. (Other companies were urging us to install pavers or other surfaces.)
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
also agreed to remove the old slide for free, and to patch the holes from it in the deck (as well as holes that had accommodated a child fence that we’d purchased when our son was little). His ideas for repairing and correcting the problems inside the pool were equally professional. All of the old surface would need to be scraped up and out, of course, and then he would install carbon fiber staples and cement to reinforce and patch the big cracks. (He didn't want to use metal staples because sometimes they rusted and discolored the surface, he said.) Then he would apply a good bond coat and a new quartz surface to pool and spa. He also would do other things like scraping off the putty we had applied here and there on the tile cracks and around the skimmer, etc., removing the old slide, and power-washing, repairing and staining the old cool deck. In addition, he would recap all the returns and drains and pressure-test the plumbing. His company would also provide the start-up, with all chemicals, as well as provide free, once-a-week pool service for two months. Plus a one-year warranty for workmanship. His price was competitive and even beat some of the other bidders (even though they offered to do less). Needless to say, we hired him. We are very glad we did. He did everything he said he would, and then some. His employee who applied the quartz surface was an artist. The pool and deck look great, compared to what we had previously. A nice

-colored stain. No leaks in the pool. His company did so well on the two free months of servicing that we decided to hire them for weekly service, and they are doing a great job (better than our previous pool service company) in keeping the water nice. We are happy not only with our pool--but with finding a professional who really cares about doing a good job.

I could not be happier with the job done by
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
and his crew. They were professional, meticulous and thorough. I would recommend them to anyone. I had a few lower offers from 'that other' list but the fact that
Saint Petersburg Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
had so many positive reviews by real people made me feel that I would get a professional job, and I did. Thanks Angie's List for helping me find them!

The job they did was amazing. We couldn't be more pleased. He was very conscientious about cleaning any excess splatter and made sure to get our approval before commencing each new important stage of the project. We highly recommend their services to anyone looking to redo their concrete.
