"Took my dog here the first time for boarding while I was moving, and now take her for veterinary care, grooming and occasional boarding. The staff is terrific. All" procedures and tests are explained, options offered, with cost comparison so I feel like I can make an informed decision about what is best for my aging dog. My cat goes here now as well. He is on special food which they order for me and I really appreciate the convenience. Highly recommend this clinic.

"Quality care was provided for both my dog and the resulting puppies. Great care was given by the entire staff! I will always use

Angie's Answers

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

Veterinarian reviews in Pinellas Park

We are one of these families who will go the extra mile and dollar for our pets. And for our hard-earned money,
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
are the best value for the care we get. Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's knowledge is uncanny: she can figure out what's wrong with our dogs even before we describe all the symptoms! In my book, she is the Superwoman of vets.
It's true that in the past, not now, we've had a small communication problem with her staff. I believe it was out of being overprotective of Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's time. I mentioned the incident to the doctor and it was immediately addressed. But let me ask this: what office hasn't lived through a bit of miscommunication? It's nothing compared to the absolutely fantastic care your pets will receive with
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
vet. We have 10 years of proof.

My 10 year old bulldog had his left eye punctured when attacked by my other terrible bulldog. It was Saturday night around 7pm. We originally took him to Companion Animal Medical Center in Carmel. The injury was beyond their ability and they recommended
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
came in to the office at 10pm to take the case. His injury was very bad and she was very clear that she may not be able to save the eye. She provided the options - remove the eye or try to repair with no guarantee the repair will hold. Meaning - the eye may still need to be removed later. The cost really wasn't that much different to save or remove so we opted to save. Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was SUPERB! She performed the surgery and called at 1am to say she was done and our old boy was fine. She still wasn't sure if the sutures would hold because the puncture was so severe. Ultimately, not only did the eye heal but he has very good vision as well. I believe Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
' skills and dedication to her craft is the reason my boy can see out of that very badly damaged eye.

First time call at 10am on a Monday morning and was given an emergency appt. for 11am. My dog was seen immediately upon arrival. The wonderful people in this office were very kind and understanding of my husband's and my distress. They were very gentle and caring with our dog and he responded well to them. They did several tests, along with x-rays, and diagnosed a few different illnesses, including severe diabetes and a urinary tract infection. He was also given pain medication for an ongoing problem that his previous vet was unconcerned about. (He was given a clean bill of health just six weeks earlier by his previous vet.) We were advised that he could have a larger range of treatment by leaving him overnight but if cost was a concern, they could teach us how to care for him at home. Although cost actually was a concern, we opted to leave him for better care than we could give at home. The vet kept us appraised by telephone of his progress well into the evening, after the vet was closed. By the next afternoon, his blood
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was stabilized and he was able to come home. He was already acting better than he had in several months. (We had thought he was just slowing down because he is getting older now - large dog at 9 1/2 yrs old. Remember - he was given a clean bill of health six weeks earlier by a previous vet.) By the day after that, he was acting just like he used to when he was younger! We have our baby back! We could not be more thankful to all of the folks at Highlands. I'm just sad that I caused him probably a year or better of his not feeling well by taking him to the wrong vet. Oh and by the way, the emergency appt at Highlands actually cost less than the regular appt at the previous vet! This is his regular vet from now on.

Everyone at the clinic is so friendly and helpful. They have been doing renovations and the place is beautiful. Dr. Nemmers is really a "cat whisperer" who seems to calm any frantic cat. She took plenty of time to do the overall check and suggested that one of the cats be checked with a blood sample to see if his kidneys were ok. Just as she thought, the values were high and so we are treating it with renal support food. She has taken care of my cats for years and I would not take them anywhere else.

Our experience was a very long time ago. I'm not completely sure of the date. We had been taking our cats to this provider for years with reasonable service even after we had moved from
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
to Sun Prairie. Had we been treated well, we would still be going there. When my elderly cat fell ill, I believed he had gone into liver failure due to the chemical smell of his breath. We brought him in and asked them to test him for liver failure. We also asked that no further tests be done until the liver results were back. Sadly, the cat was in liver failure and had to be put down. I was devastated to
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
my long term
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. As soon as the cat was put down, we were presented a $400++ bill for a long list of tests including feline leukemia. A
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
blood test for liver failure was all we wanted. We were pretty sure of the diagnosis even before we took the cat in. When we confronted the vet over the excessive testing, he said he was just being thorough. Clearly this was taking advantage of us in a very vulnerable moment. Since we were too upset to argue beyond the original complaint, we paid our bill and left. The next day I came back and took all our records for our remaining pets to a different vet on the east side, where we have gone ever since. Many cats and lots of vet visits to our new vet later,
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
lost a lot of money by not keeping us as a customer. I would never recommend them. You can tell a lot about a vet by what they do when your beloved pet has to be put down. We learned never to return to this one. Since this was a long time ago, there may be a new vet there now, but I still recommend that if you go, get a detailed written quote before any service and don't pay a cent more than what they quote you. Be very specific about what you want done and don't let them do more to pad the bill.

Very knowledgeable staff, easy appointment scheduling (can fit you in same day). Very thoroughly explains reasons behind issues. They're also great with calming her down - know what they're doing.

After the visit to
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, our dog continued to swat at his ear and shake his head. We waited a few weeks to see if he would stop. He continued to act like his ear was bothering him. We attempted to clean it out for him and got lots of black gooey looking stuff and noticed that it smelled bad. At that time, we decided to take him to another vet we have used in the past rather than going back to
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. We took him to the other vet on October 2, 2015. This vet did look in his ear, swabbed for infection, and looked at the specimen under the microscope...something
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
did not do yet insisted our dog was fine. The swab came back that he actually had a bad bacterial infection that was close to turning into a staph infection. He was given an antibiotic that they call "beeswax" which they poured into his ears and it stays in there for 2 weeks killing off the infection. Had we not decided to take him to another vet to find this out, we may not have had a very good result and his prognosis could have been much worse. We are taking him back to the other vet in another week for a recheck. We were told that if the infection is still there, they may have to put him to sleep and go in and clean out his ears thoroughly under anesthesia. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but we are very upset that
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
missed this infection and didn't even swab to look for infection under the microscope. Had they done this, the infection would have been picked up much earlier. We feel like our visit to
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was a waste and that extra expenses were incurred because of their negligence.

My 12 year old Labrador Retriever was diagnosed by another veterinarian, who I had to see because my regular veterinarian was injured and could not see him, with congestive heart failure. After a few weeks of treatment that veterinarian said there was nothing else that could be done. I called my regular veterinarian, and he highly recommended Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. He told me she was the best veterinarian in the Untied States. Dr.
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and the staff were excellent! They quickly got
Pinellas Park Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
in and ran a battery of tests and x-rays. And the bill included the heart medication.
