We were not impress with the work done on the sod and the unresponsive phone calls, text, photos sent and emails. Therefore, we did not contract for them to landscape the plant beds. There is a process in "re-doing" a yard.
had no such process. When questioned about the job, they would just say "This is how it's normally done. don't worry, we will get the job done to your satisfaction". What they really meant was to their satisfaction. They came in and ripped things out with no regard to doing the job right. On day one they broke the main water line. They proceeded to break the sprinkler line. They did not take any special time and effort to be meticulous in their job. They laid the sod too low in certain areas and where there wasn't a flooding issue in our yard there is one now! The "new" sod is full of weeds! We have been trying to get them to fix the problems for the last 3 months and to no avail still no attempt has been made to rectify the problems. Clearly we DID NOT get what we paid for. Our heart breaks every time we drive up and see where our hard earned money went and for them it's just another day at the office. We have now requested another company to assess and/or fix the mess they have made on our yard. I DO NOT recommend this company. Their lack of professionalism and pride in the service provided is a testament of this company's work ethic. It is truly sad when companies such as this go after the almighty dollar as oppose to character and integrity. If you are looking for a company that will stand by their work and have pride in their job, this is not the company for you. It is clear that sub-par work is good enough for them. For anyone to be proud to put their name on service such as this, and continually disregard your attempts to rectify the problem, is not a man of his word.

They did a great job on the ligustrums. They carried away the tree and the ligustrum debris. Did a real neat job. The yard work was done very well and I look forward to having

I never received a returned telephone call. Last May (2013) when I left two messages to this same business asking for my call to be returned to get an estimate, I feel sure I would not have gotten the call back, except that I said in my second call that maybe they were no longer in business and I wondered if I should report that on Angie's list. I got a very quick response then. During that call I was told that I could realize some cost savings if I could postpone my request for work until the fall or winter seasons. I agreed, so I placed my call again in January 2014. That call was never returned. This company might not be taking on new work, or only taking on work by referral now, I have no way of knowing. If that is the case it would have been a courtesy to return my call stating that. Not returning the call makes it seem the potential client's business is not important, even though I predict my request for an estimate would have been in the mid-range of thousands of dollars. I don't like submitting negative reviews, but Angie's list does not give you a "N/A" choice for an overall review. I won't submit any more work requests to this provider. Maybe others will have better luck with this company returning calls, than was my experience.

I've purposely waited a month to submit this review to be more balanced about it. I hired this company based on previous positive reviews of their work on Angie's List, because I needed to remove a large dead oak tree on my property. They were a little later arriving to start the job than anticipated, but apparently there were weather related delays on the roads. The crew worked diligently taking down the tree, but my angst with this company is due to the additional damage done to a my concrete driveway caused by the way the tree was removed. In watching the process, I believe most, if not all, damage could have been prevented, or at least minimized by cutting away smaller sections of the large branching limbs. As it was, very large sections were cut and crashed down on parts of my driveway causing additional cracking. There was also significant additional damage (splitting of the concrete) caused by the equipment driving back and forth in and out of the property. I realize this company has had high reviews of their services up to this point, but I felt others with similar work needing to be done near any sort of hard scape should be aware of what happened at my property. I think this company could have considered how to mitigate the damages done.

I just recently bought a new home and the yard had been seriously neglected. I called them to get an estimate on trimming this huge oak tree in the front yard and a couple in the back. They were on time and incredibly professional. The trees got a healthy cutting and they pulled some bushes around the sidewalk that made no sense being there at all. You can now see the house and it looks great!

We live on a hill and water running down over our side yard from the neighbor's yard was undermining our driveway. I recommended that we install a French drain.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
suggested instead to replace the undermined part of the driveway with concrete and placing a low berm across the hill to divert the water. He said this would probably be more effective and would cost considerably less. I followed his suggestion and things have worked out quite well. As usual the quality of his work was extremely good and so was the price.

Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
offers very professional, high quality, reasonable, and trustworthy service. I found them through angies list while I was staying in Mississippi. My husband and I own a rental house in Pensacola which was pretty much destroyed inside and out by the previous renters. I initially called on them to cut the lawn so I could get in the front door. Not long after speaking to the owners, I soon found out that they could give me an estimate to have the entire property renovated. They were out at the property the very next day and gave me a super reasonable estimate. They took pictures of the property so that I did not have to drive out and gave me a thorough explanation for the repairs needed. They set to work immediately and completed the job in just a few days. They worked around the clock to make sure our house was completed in time to be rented out the following week. The quality of their work was second to none. The house went from looking destroyed and disgusting to sparkling and new. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the house was finished in perfect condition. They paid special attention to finishing touches and details which gave our house
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
appeal. Most importantly, they shopped around and got us the best deals on materials and were super economical in working with the budget. We are extremely pleased with the end results. The house looks better now than it did when we bought it. In sum, I highly recommend
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
for any home maintenance or renovation. They are extremely affordable, reliable, and trustworthy. The quality of their work is top notch and they give you the most bang for your buck. After our project was completed, they provided me with a video as well as pictures to help me see all the work that was done.

Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
responded to my request for an estimate to change out the landscaping due to me no longer being able to maintain the property. He listened to my wants and made suggestions to what would work and not work. His suggestions were right on and clearly stipulated in his proposal along with separate quotes for each phase of the project. The curvatures of the new flower beds enhance the appearance of the house along with the new trees to eventually provide shade. His selection of the trees and plants were simply beautiful. His personnel were professional, courteous, and efficient. Mentioned how I wanted to redo the back patio and he had the right company and suggested using pavers. Plus his suggestion to remove the small flower bed in front of the house and pave the whole patio redone in pavers was just amazing. The company that performed the work was outstanding. I think their name was "All Above Pavers". Worked with me on the selection of the pavers and the workers were courteous and professional along with taking pride in their work. There was no slacking on the job by the personnel. Took four days to complete both front and back along with the walkway but it was worth it. All concrete was removed in the front and all the blocks in the back. Certainly was a lot of work in this heat. In addition,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
suggested that a
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
would look beautiful over the patio and I stated how I always wanted one. Did not know that option would be under his purview but it was. The company he selected, I think is named "Pensacola Pergolas and Patios", was professional, efficient, and worked with me regarding design, staining, etc. Columns put in one day and balance complete the next. Was amazed how fast it went up. A little pricey but the quality and workmanship was outstanding. Build to withstand anything. Would definitely recommend
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
Center for all your landscaping needs. Plus
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
checked all projects to ensure I was completely satisfied and if anything needed to be corrected. Also provides guidance on what to do for the lawn to get rid of crabgrass and what to do for your current trees to ensure they stay healthy. Another nice thing is that
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
will come back once a year and perform maintenance to ensure all stays healthy at a small fee. Am 100% satisfied with the work and appearance of everything. The patios,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
and landscaping is simply beautiful and looking forward to many hours of enjoyment sitting outside along with entertaining.

We had 2 good recommendations for
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
from neighbors with one caveat - he is very slow. This
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
us to write up a contract that included a completion date and a late fee of 1% of the contract price for each day past the completion date.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
is a very nice man who seems to have good intentions and I believe he fundamentally desires to provide a quality job, but has problems with execution and managerial skills. This was immediately evident during the initial visit when we noticed that he did not take any notes as our work scope was being explained, claiming the he had an excellent memory. In fact, we had to take it upon ourselves to write up a detailed contract and provide it to him. When asked whether or not he had a work crew on his payroll, or if he sub-contracts his labor, his answer was that he has his own crew. However, we later learned by speaking to some of his crew, that he does not have a consistent work crew under his payroll, but instead, apparently acquires helpers on a daily basis. This would later turn out to be his Achilles heal.Another concern of ours, included in the contract, was that he be at the Job-Site for 85% of the day - to prevent the possibility of workers being left with no supervision or direction. This also would later turn out to be another Achilles heal.Upon the first day of work, his lack of organization and managerial skills became immediately apparent. Though he did appear on the first day of the contract at 10:00 AM , he only dropped off some equipment and a couple of helpers, but immediately left for over 2 hours. His disorganization was readily apparent when he called and providing an excuse for his lengthy disappearance - which was because he lost his license and had to get another one at the DMV. My wife, who works from home, noticed that the workers spent most of the time remaining idle, with one worker sitting on the
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
the entire time doing nothing. This was the pattern throughout the entire job -
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
dropping his workers workers at the Job-site, upon which they would spend most of the day smoking, sitting under our tree, or on cell phones until
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
re-appeared, usually several hours later. Roughly speaking, his workers, remained idle for 80% of the time
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
wasn't present - and he was only present an average of 20% of the time - contrary to the contractual arrangement. On 6 instances throughout the job, neither
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
(nor his workers) arrived on the job site, despite phone calls from him informing us he was going to appear. When he did appear on promised work days, it was usually from 1 to 6 hours after his scheduled promise times and he usually reduced his work hours short each day. He also had several equipment problems, even not being able leave the job site for almost 2 hours one evening trying to to get his work truck running. As the Completion Date neared, we became concerned and almost cut ties with him due to his continual inability to follow through with his promised work schedule and for fear that he would reduce quality to meet the completion date.
Regarding the Job Quality, these are the Grades I would give him for each of the Job phases: 1) Tree removal, Stump Grinding and Tree Pruning A2) Landscaping, Weeding and Cleaning flower beds C 3) Pruning of Large Fern A4) Planting of 3 small fruit trees A5) Lawn Sod removal and replacement D6) Garden Installation of 6 vegetables D7) Installation of Fence Gate B8) Removal of old Basketball Goal C
Sod Replacement:Our primary concern and the most expensive portion of the project was the Front Yard Sod replacement.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
appeared to know proper top soil removal, preparation, and grading techniques and had a Bobcat. However, the time between application of the Weed
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
(Kilz) and installation of the new Sod was over 3 weeks. The day before the Sod installation, several areas had new weeds already rooting. Furthermore,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
stated that he was going to have real difficulty hand digging the portion of the yard that had buried Telephone and Cable wires, stating that our neighbor "scared" him into not wanting to replace the sod in that area due to the potential service interruption. We verbally agreed to modify the Work Scope to allow him to only "patch" the bare lawn areas with less expensive "St.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
" and to remove the Basketball Goal.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
and his workers were still laying sod on literally the last day of the contract completion date, working late in the afternoon. It was apparent that they were rushing things and began to space the last of the sod out since they were running short. Upon completion, it was immediately noticed that over a third of the newly laid grass appeared dead (i.e. brown and dry). When confronted regarding this issue,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
admitted that his sod supplier may have given him grass that was "cut too close to the root", but that it should come back in 2 weeks. He stated that he would replace the sod if it did not root, and we agreed that we would withhold $250 (10%) until we were satisfied. Two weeks later,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
requested the remaining monies. Though the grass in the dead area did fill in approximately 80%, we noticed that it was full of about 3 different types of weeds - in only this section, which happened to be the same section where most the weeds had been taking root before the sod was laid. Furthermore, the areas that we allowed to only be "patched" with St
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was dead and several areas were not completed.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
stated that the weeds may have been in the sod to begin with and the he didn't guarantee "completely weed-free" sod. He blamed the "dead patches" of St.
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
on lack of watering, and that the areas that he missed would eventually "fill-in". We informed
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
that we feel that the quality was not what we expected and that we would like to hold final payment until the end of his 6 month warranty due to our concerns of several items, one of which was that he hadn't taken the Basketball Goal off of our property, instead leaving it at the
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
. We offered a punch list of items for
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
to complete before final payment, but he refused to accept it, stating that we should instead trust him to followup on these issues, as well as his handwritten 6 month warranty. We refused, stating that due to his lack of ability to follow through his past promises (i.e. not being present at the job per contractual arrangement, not showing up on prescribed times, etc) we believed it to be necessary to keep 10% to hold him to his word, his warranty, and to verify the quality of the lawn.Additionally, the Basketball goal disappeared from the
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
one day, and we assumed that
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
had taken it. We later discovered that the CIty had picked it up when we received a $35 bill on our City Sanitation bill.
Garden Installation:Not being professional Gardeners, we relied on
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
claim of being skilled in growing vegetables to prepare and plant a garden at a cost of $900. Based upon
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
input, we chose 7 vegetable for
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
to plant, after proper preparation of the soil. (contracted for Butter Beans, Tomatoes, Purple Hull Peas, Squash, Seet Potatoes, Okra and Corn.) However, he later stated (after the contract had been signed) that he could not plant the Sweet Potatoes since they would
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
off the rest of the vegetables. At the time of this writing, only the Purple Hull Peas, Okra, Tomatoes and Butter beans remain alive. The Squash is completely gone and the corn appears to be dying. Though we believe that we have some responsibility in our lack of skill and knowledge of garden maintenance,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
planted seeds, did not even provide us with a map of what was planted where, and we had to ask about how often to water. Also, I later discovered via conversation with a farmer, that the corn was planted too close together for this area and at the wrong time of year. Additional information regarding growing methods for the Butterbeans, or the fact that Okra shouldn't be watered as frequently as it the rest of the garden was not offered, or apparently unknown, by
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
. Furthermore, my wife had to intervene because, as usual,
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
wasn't present to supervise the planting of the garden and his workers had no clue as how big to make it according to the contract.
The rest of the work was performed with sufficient skill (i.e the Tree Work, Stump Grinding, Gate installation, Fern Pruning), but
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
failed to pull up any of the weeds in the beds prior to covering them up with pine straw.
Overall, the experience was stressful, and we feel that, regarding the lawn, the quality was average. We still are with-holding 10% of the Lawn replacement costs due to the lower than expected quality and the lack of completing the entire task. (i.e. the basketball goal, and incomplete patchwork of areas). One of the neighbors that had provided us with the earlier "good" recommendation later informed us that they, in fact, had to call
Pensacola Landscapers Provider Name Locked
after 2 months to come finish their sod installation. Another informed us that he never came back to grind up the stump of a tree that he has removed.
He did a good job on the trees, stump grinding and gate installation, but I would definitely suggest a detailed contract with a late completion date clause be included. Be aware the he uses workers that are unskilled and they depend upon his presence for direction, and even motivation. Also, I wouldn't pay him the complete amount until you are completely satisfied, and include that statement in the contract. He works informally and doesn't appear used to providing detailed, professionally written documents or warranties, but rather prefers to rely on his memory and yours regarding work scope and price.
