Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

Your right, HVAC companies are really not much help at all in regard to getting all the rooms and floors the same temperature, and airflow.  It's not their focus or their expertise. They repair and sell hardware.  I had the same exact problem here in Central Florida.  I had rooms that were to hot in the summer and the same ones were to cold in the colder months.  I have a 2 story 2800 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms.  I did a lot of research, and I tried to fix it myself, but in reality I made it worse.  I finally found a company here in the Central Florida area called AirFlowBalance, LLC.  Their web site is AirFlowBalance.com.  This company is not an HVAC dealer or repairer.  Their sole focus is to balance the airflow and temperature in a home by using a nonevasive proprietary process, with patented devices. Now, when I set my thermometer at 75 degrees, every room is 75 degrees.  I no longer have to bump up or down the temp from room to room.  No more thermostat wars with my family!  Also, I was very supprised at how affordable it was and the whole job was done under 3 hours.  They also have an online estimate page on their web site.  I hope this helps, and I am not sure if they have an office in AZ.
?
if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

Ocala Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Provider Name Locked
was prompt & arrived as scheduled. Our vent had not been cleaned in 6 years & our dryer was not working well.

was very thorough and did a GREAT job. It took quite a bit longer than he estimated, but he stayed and finished. We had a different service provider clean our vent 5 or 6 years ago & had a bad experience; very unprofessional and actually damaged a door we had to replace.

was very professional & very neat. When he was done you could see that he had been there. We thought that we would have to replace the dryer because it was barely working; now it's working like new!! Excel-Lint is on our list for another cleaning in 2 years!!

The owner, Ed

performed the service. He was punctual and recalled our telephone conversation in which I expressed concern that past attempts to keep dryer hose attached to wall bib/duct had been troublesome and often resulted in hot air leaks. Ed thoroughly cleaned the duct from the wall to the outside of the house and completed the job quickly and cleanly. Best of all, Ed was able to pull more of the wall bib to lengthen the extension which then allowed for a much more secure connection ensuring that we'd avoid the hot air leaks that had previously plagued us. As a bonus, Ed showed us how we might avoid water from from outside of the house from entering our home through the dryer vent in the even of severe

rains. He suggested we use PCV elbow joints to ensure the water stayed outside. He even

WOW! what great service! I was given an appointment window, then called THAT morning to let me know the tech was on the way. He showed up in time, assessed the situation, told me the best way to handle the job (without piling on a bunch of unneeded items and labor), then he got right to work. He was fun, professional, and did the job right! I am so very impressed with Apex. You will have all my business from this day forward! Thank you so much!

The cleaning of my dryer vent went just fin. It's what happened afterwards. The two technicians doing the cleaning saw a split in my dryer vent, told me about it, and said they could repair it by taping it. I said thank you and asked would there be an extra charge, as I had paid for a $100 Angie's List deal for "dryer vent cleaning" only. They said no, there would be no extra charge. They said they'll tape the vent now, and the company would also monitor the vent to see if a more extensive repair would be necessary when the company comes for their annual inspection a year from now; they were now putting me on their customer list for an annual inspection. Two days later, the tape the technicians applied peeled off; the split was open again.

I left a voicemail for the company asking them to come repair the tape job, and the company never called back or left a voicemail for me. I heard nothing from them for several days: there were no voicemails and I only one "missed call" that could have been from their area code. When I called the company again, the man I spoke with (I am not sure of his name) said they attempted to reach me "multiple" times. I do not know why the company had to misrepresent their attempts to contact me.

Then the man told me the company would not come back out to re-tape the dryer vent without charging me a service (or trip?) charge. The man claimed because I should have been charged for the initial tape job, but wasn't, I now owe a service charge if they were to come back out and fix the taping. I disagreed and said that I will pay for a full repair if they come back out and it appears a full (non-tape-job) repair is necessary, but I should not have to pay for them to come re-apply the tape that was applied only two days ago, especially when I was told there would be no extra charge for that service in the first place. We were not able to resolve this.

I needed to end the conversation to go back to work, so I asked to resume the conversation the next day. I left a voicemail for the company the next day, and the company never called me back. To this day I have not heard from them.

In sum, I am satisfied with the dryer vent cleaning: the technicians were punctual, efficient, and my vent appears to have been cleaned properly. I am highly dissatisfied with what happened afterwards when I reached out to the company about the tape job that came undone.

The provider arrived late and would not leave and provide the quote by email. The provider removed the old decking and left it stacked on the lawn for five days so the grass died. The provider called on Saturday while I was taking my daughter to college for the first time. I explained several times that I was unhappy with the wood and the nailed in pieces. The provider promised to look at it and insisted that he would come on Saturday. I explained that I was not there and would not be home until 7 PM. He agreed to come on Sunday. When I arrived home on Saturday at 6:30 PM, one coat of paint was already on the non-pressure treated wood with the little nailed in pieces. I told the workman that I was not happy. He insisted that he had to finish painting and would not leave. He finally left at 10 PM. He left a mess.
The provider called me again today to ask how I liked the deck. I said it was terrible and it has already begun to warp. He has promised to come tomorrow at 5 to review it.
I am very worried that this will not be fixed. It needs to totally torn down and built properly with pressure treated wood. Proper cuts need to be made. The paint needs to be properly applied and it should be done doing regular business hours.

did an excellent and professional job of cleaning out our very cloggy dryer vent, removing a GIANT (vacant) bird nest from our kitchen vent (also screening it to keep the birds out in the future). He also saw that our front bathroom vent had a mesh placed too close to the flap, which was keeping the flap from opening. He suggested to replace it with a bigger animal screen, and I appreciated the suggestion and gave the 'okay' to move forward with that update, too.
All in all, I was very happy with

was very helpful and arranged for the technician to come on a Monday which is usually his day off because it was the only day I could do this week. Very good service.
Jerzy arrived promptly and did a very thorough and professional job. He said both the dryer and the vents were a mess but he made sure they were cleaned well. Very clean process can not even tell they were here.
I would definitely use the them again. Jerzy said the dryer should be done about once per year because my vent pipe is very long.
