Window Replacement reviews in Navarre

We needed to replace our old windows so we consulted Angie's list and called
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
. I was able to meet with
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
, their sales representative, the following week. He was very knowledgable about the different types of windows he was selling and tailored to our specific needs.
The windows were custom built at the factory so another individual came out for more precise measurements of the windows. It took about four weeks for the windows to be shipped from the factory to
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and they were able to install that week.
Two installers came to the house and explained the entire process in length about what they would be doing for the installation. The windows and shutters were installed in one day. During the installation they laid down blankets on the inside of the window and vacuumed when they were finished. Before they left, they went around the house, cleaned the windows, picked up any garbage that was laying on the ground and asked if I had any questions about the work performed.
All in all it took a little over a month from start to finish and I have had no problems with the windows thus far. Everyone that I encountered, represented the company in a professional and helpful manner. I would recommend
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to others looking to have their windows replaced as well.

I contracted with
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to install new doors (with a 10-year warranty) and windows in my townhouse. I paid half down ($16,000). Unbeknownst to me ASP ordered only the frames from Ventana, USA. They purchased their own glass and took a spray gun to the doors. When they were installed the paint was horrid and chipping off. The only way to fix the paint would be to somehow remove all the paint, powder coat them and repaint them. Another contractor estimated it would be about $2-3,000 per door to do that.
The glass did not have the florida numbers on them because they were not rated doors, which I had specifically demanded to have and were not tinted as well as the windows. (The windows were factory made by
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and are great.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
sent me a lifetime warranty and stand by their product.) Upon researching I learned ASP is not licensed and not legal to install the doors. Their installation was awful and I had to pay another contractor to repair and hide their shabby construction. ASP refused to do anything other than to slap another coat of paint on the doors.
The doors are bowed. They have been adjusted a number of times and continue to re-warp. The only way to lock the doors is
to have someone on the outside push on the top and bottom of the door and have someone on the inside lock them. The handles
are flimsy and and are breaking. One broke off within 30 days of the installation.
I have written and telephoned Ventana numerous times about their 10-year warranty. They said they would send a new handle (but didn't) and offered to sell me their new painted frames for $7,000, supposedly their cost ($7000+). This required me to trust that the doors aren't bowed and the paint job is good, then to contract with someone to put the old subpar glass in them and install them. Plus it didn't seem right that they profited fully in the first transaction and then want me to pay them again for doors they were already paid once. They refused to refund even a dime of my money and said I would have to work with Absolute because I'm not their customer.
ASP is definitely the worst culprit in this problem, but the Ventana doors are faulty. I am filing a review on both. Do not trust Ventana doors. They are cheap and Ventana's warranty is worthless unless you buy directly from them...assuming it is worth anything even that way.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is illegally installing doors and windows, as I have been told by the county they are not licensed to do so anywhere in Florida. And the doors and windows don't pass Florida code. Their warranty is worthless too. Plus they will now demand you pay them 80% of the contract before they will install anything, so you won't know how bad the doors and installation are until you are out most of your money.

We stopped by
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
' place of business in Pensacola and were given excellent service as far as information, answers to our questions, suggestions, etc. We decide to go ahead and use them, particularly because they had done hurricane shutters for us several years ago and we were quite happy with that job. As repeat customers, we were given a very nice discount on this new job. A representative came to our house promptly and took us through all the options as to types of windows, features, etc., in a friendly and thorough manner. He did some preliminary measuring and priced everything we decided to buy. The bottom line was quite a bit less than we had feared. 50% down was required and they do accept credit cards.

Also prompt, courteous and efficient was the man who came to do the precision measurements. Two of our windows were just too small to replace, but we did hire them to replace the glass in the existing frames. That was done quickly and professionally, with no mess left behind.

With 23 other windows to replace, as well as two doors, the bulk of the job took a day and a half, give or take an hour or so. On the first day, two guys in the morning and four in the afternoon got almost all the windows done, removing the old and installing the new. The second day, a crew of four finished the windows and doors. Once again, the crews were punctual, polite, and efficient. They did a thorough job of cleaning up and replacing the window treatments that we had not removed ourselves. The old windows and all debris were removed. The new windows are so nice and clear, it's hard to tell they are closed. :-)

The only flaw occurred with the screens. We had ordered fine-meshed fabric in an effort to keep out the tiny flying insects (no-see-ums) that have been annoying us. Unfortunately, most of the screens were made the wrong size.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
will have that taken care of as quickly as possible, and we were advised that we do not have to pay the balance of the total cost until the correct screens are delivered and installed.

I rated the professionalism a B, although a B+ or A- would be most appropriate. The only reason is that the workers, like so many workers these days, kept a radio going all the time they were here. They did keep it outdoors, not inside, but as there was usually a door or window missing, the sound traveled indoors. I didn't enjoy what they listened to, although it was not offensive. And it was noisy enough already with the necessary power tools and other sounds related to the work. I think they would probably have turned it off if I had asked them to.

We called
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
on 5/20/2008.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came out and estimated the cost to remove and replace all the windows in our home. We had considered going low E on all the windows, but he saved us quite a bit of money telling us it would be a waste of money on the windows that were not getting direct sunlight during the heat of the day. We considered getting impact resistant glass, but knowing my husband, he would still want to cover the windows for a hurricane, because the glass is merely supposed to not shatter when hit. If we purchased the hurricane fabric to go in the windows, it would perforn the same duty. The window may crack if hit with a tree, but it won't break into the house. In either case, the window would have to be replaced. So, for less than the cost of impact resistant glasse we purchased windows and hurricane screens.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and his helper came out as scheduled. They did a great job of tearing out the old windows and installing the new ones. They were very hard-working and conscientious. They cleaned up as they went along and made sure any broken glass from the old windows was cleaned up.

They came the NEXT day to replace all of this! They even replaced a shingle that was missing on the roof for me! They stuck to their estimate which was very low. They did a great job and were so honest with me! The house looks SO different and beautiful.

I wanted to add 6 feet to the front of my garage and bump out a closet and utility room. This would be a much smaller job then my previous one.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came out and after talking to me he quoted me $30,000! I was shocked. They charged me $35,000 previously to make liveable space and now $30,000 for a garage bump?! I passed. Now because I liked HomeTown thought I would try again. A few months later and after numerous calls from the company for previous clients I called for another estimate to build a non heated/non cooled/no electric 16 x 24 detached garage in my backyard. This time someone else from HomeTown came out and again they quoted me $30,000+. I am starting to think they might have lost money on my first project and are trying to make it back.
I received other estimates from other companies and just had my garage built (May 2013) for a grand total of $12,000!!
don't get me wrong, I like HomeTown with
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and company but I just could not justify my estimates.

When we bought our house on
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Sound in 2008, it had no storm protection of any kind. We immediately set about looking at options.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was one of several companies we called to give us estimates. A few of them were a bit baffled by how to deal with putting shutters on a house that had so many different types and sizes of windows (some of them difficult to access) while others of them simply didn't show up for scheduled appointments, or came once to look at the house and never got back with us.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was smart and sent their best spokesperson,
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to come see us. Not only was
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
the most well versed in all of the available options, she was knowledgeable in explaining how a hurricane works to destroy a home. Most importantly,
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
took the time to get to know us and realize that we spend a great deal of time traveling for business, and that we can't come home on a moment's notice to install shutters.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
helped us to determine that from both a storm safety and security standpoint, our best investment would be impact glass.
At first we were nervous about undertaking such a major, expensive project.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
helped us to break the project up into three phases, focusing on our home's most vulnerable areas first.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
has now completed 2 of the 3 phases of converting our entire home to impact glass, including the installation of a beautiful full etched glass front door, transom, and sidelights that have completely changed the look of our home. We could not be happier with the service or the quality of workmanship we have received. The crew comes and systematically removes and replaces one window at a time. When they are gone, other than the beautiful new windows, you wouldn't know you had just undergone a major renovation, for they leave no
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
....not so much as a chip in the paint around any window. They even re-installed all of the blinds. In addition to giving us peace of mind, the impact glass reduces glare and noise from outside, and has significantly reduced our energy costs.
3/26/13 - Update!
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
just installed a beautiful new sliding door and transom to replace an 8x8 slider. The work was meticulous and the difference to the look of our living room is amazing.
The work
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
has done for us has been phenomenal, and we highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to install new doors or windows.

We got their name and phone number from a mailer delivered to our house. We called to get an estimate for windows and siding.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came to our house. He looked our house over and gave us an estimate with several options for the products to do our job. After a couple days we decided to have the work done so we contacted Hometown and
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came back with some samples of windows and siding for us to look at. We decided on the products we wanted.
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
wrote up a contract. He was very knowledgable and answered any questions we had.
Soon after we had a contract,
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came and measured for the windows and sliding glass door. He did a good job because everything fit perfectly. He worked with us to come up with a way to hang a planter box under our kitchen window without having to screw thru the new siding. It worked and looks great. We waited about 4 weeks because of the Christmas holiday season for the windows to arrive. That was the timeframe we were given so they were right on time. The work began just a couple days later.
The crews that worked on our house worked very professionally. They answered lots of questions and addressed any concerns we had.
The work was finished in a short time. All debris was hauled away.
After the work was finished
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Navarre Window Installers Provider Name Locked
came and inspected the work. We had a small concern with the hanging of the downspouts. That was taken care of in a couple of days to our satisfaction.
We are well pleased with all work done by

The installation went very well, they installers cleaned up as they went, were respectful of my home and property, answered any questions I had and explained the proper way to use and clean the new windows
