Garage Building reviews in Naples

The following are a few examples of the issues we had with this contractor's work:

I told him I was not happy with the paint job he had done because many imperfections were left on the walls. He did not spackle or sand wherever necessary. He told me I had hired him to paint not to make my walls smooth! I don't know any painter who would not prep the walls before painting especially after the kind of damage I had sustained. There were also clumps of spackle left on the walls and large drips of paint down the walls. In the master bedroom it was obvious he had used two different kinds of paint (pearl and egg shell) on 2 of the walls. When I pointed this out to him he said it was the walls and not the the fact that he had used two different textures of paint!

There was a hole in the ceiling by the vent in the guest bathroom which was made by the plumbers. When I brought this to his attention he said he didn't bid it and wouldn't fix it. We went back and forth until he finally agreed to fix the 2 small areas. I had to provide the spackle. I am just amazed that he would think it would be okay to leave these holes in my ceiling! He also refused to paint this ceiling when it was finished being repaired as he "did not bid to do this". I had said to him the day the sheetrock guys were there to make sure the ceiling got fixed. I said it to him twice and he obviously ignored me.

He also didn't paint another area in our utility closet where the plumbers had cut holes and the wallboard people had repaired the ceiling (FYI- he also had the contract from the Association to do the wallboard repair work.). He left a 2 ft. by 3ft portion of the ceiling undone. His reason, again, was he hadn't bid to do that! This turned out to be his answer for almost everything.

He painted 2 bedrooms and didn't paint the closets, even though the colors were different, because, you guessed it, he hadn't bid it! You can see 2 inches of the pink closet wall because the doors are recessed into the closet about 2 inches. BTW, he didn't redo the ceilings in these bedrooms either. I guess my stating I wanted all the texture removed in all the rooms meant, to him, except the closets and to me it meant including the closets as all meant

The contractor retiled the master shower. There was beige/brown colored grout all over the ceiling above the shower. I pointed this out to him and stated I expected this ceiling to be painted so the grout wouldn't show. Again, and I know it's getting old, he said, "I didn't bid that." I told him he got the grout on the ceiling and he was to get it off. So, he painted about 8 inches from the wall out to cover the grout and never painted another inch beyond that. Please note, the ceiling is approximately 4ft by 5ft as only the shower and toilet are in the room (sinks are outside.) So picture this, he painted just 8 inches along the 5ft. wall and nothing more!

The plumbers had cut the walls along the living room wall adjoining the kitchen so they could re-plumb the kitchen. The contractor hired people to sheetrock walls and ceilings. The contractor was then to cut the outlet boxes out. He did cut them out and did a hack job. He didn't fix these holes with spackle and then sanding them so he could put back the normal sized outlet plates. Oh no, he went out and bought oversized outlet covers so he didn't have to do anything but screw them on!

We had a lengthy heated discussion, my husband was also present, the contractor threatened to walk out if we were going to deduct items from the list because he had not done them. I told him to go right ahead.

He told us the crown moulding in the dining room and living room would be sanded and painted and then he refused to do it because there was too much silicone on it. The amount of silicone didn't change from when he agreed to do it. He just didn't want to do what he had promised!

The plumber that he hired came and used the bare minimum pipe to meet code when replumbing our sinks and vanities. The pipe he was replacing was 1.5 inches he put in 1.25 and it leaked to boot! The plungers had to be adjusted, the pipe tightened, the silicone ring wasn't seated properly, hence the leak, per contractor. On the other sink the drain pipe was crooked preventing another plunger from working and had to be fixed.

He put in baseboard, and actually did a nice job with this. However, he came round the room to the doorway and never painted the doorway to match the nicely painted baseboard he had just put in and the doorway had gotten banged in the repair process.
I would NEVER hire him again!!

I got lots of estimates and I have to tell you this guys have the best prices, on this new condo I got last month had to do a lot of improvements one of them was the kitchen, they removed the cabinets and counter and installed new cabinets and countertops in granite, the kitchen was just finished in 3 days and they did what they promised, they even came 3 days later to finish something that I have not even noticed, I was surprised by the level of customer service they given me, they kitchen looks great and the counter tops they gave me a great deal with a free sink. I will recommend them to friends in this building.

They allotted me an amount for floor tile and were prepared to pick up the materials and install. Instead I picked out tile, paid for it and delivered it to my home. As it was I chose one of the most expensive tile in the store. Again DC subcontracted the work. I asked the sub to make very small grout lines to match the rest of the floor in my home. Plus I purchased a medallion for the middle of the floor. The sub laid the floor with large grout lines and grouted the floor the same day that they laid the tile. In speaking with other floor people I understand that this is not proper procedure and may cause problems later. They were walking on the floor and grouting just a couple hours after laying the tile. They did not use fast setting thin set. I am waiting for the floor to pop. The sub used grout that was too wet when doing the medallion; now I have air holes in the grout. In addition the grout level is low in some spots and needs to be corrected. I am still waiting. The drywall was subbed too. They were sloppy and showed disregard for my home. I watched as one of them flung globs of plaster from his fingers onto my pool deck. I can see seams and the holes for the electrical boxes are larger than the cover plates leaving me with gaps. The subcontractor never asked if they should texture the walls but that's what I ended up with. They left all the waste material on the property in a pile. When I asked if they were going to remove it the reply is that they were not told to and where would they put it anyway? So it sat there for days as the rain turned it into a bigger mess. DC did clean the waste up upon one of their visits. One thing to note is that DC doesn't check on their subs. They ask the home owner if the subs did a good job. As a homeowner not having experience in most of the work categories I would have no idea if it's a good job or an amateur job. The subs are an extension of the main contractor. You would think that they care enough to check on their subs work. Florida law allows the contractor, the subs and all their suppliers to place a

on the homeowners property if they are not paid for the work and materials. I asked in person many times for affidavits indicating who the contractor or supplier was and that they were paid. I additionally sent a certified letter requesting these items. It's fallen on deaf ears and I have yet to receive a signed affidavit. I have however received certified letters from the suppliers that I'm responsible for payment and if not paid a

would be placed. I even informed DC of these letters. I'm still waiting for affidavits. So far, none of the projects except the shower are completed and I'm awaiting final billing. I'm sure that'll be a nightmare too. I was excited to undergo these projects to improve my home and selected DC Bros after a long

. Anyone who has purchased any kind of Granite knows that shopping for "The Perfect" fit can be both time consuming and a headache. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly throughout the entire process. No matter how many phones calls we had back and forth, they always answered with a pleasant

Some businesses often see you as a money tree and constantly tag on all the fees and upgrades you can handle.

and Bath was the exact opposite.
They took their time explaining the entire process from start to finish.

sent out an Installer to the house and he created a detailed template. When the installers arrived, they were clean and very cautious. While they were outside cutting the Granite, they used a shop vac to catch the extra dust from the saw. I was amazed at how well the installers took the extra time to be courteous. On the inside they wiped down cabinets and drawers to make sure they left the house in better shape that it was in before they arrived. I can't say enough about my pleasant experience dealing with Ideal. The best part of entire process is that we came in under budget. I even bought more items from them because I saved so much...How ironic :-) If you want quality, care and superior work...then
