"He has a great bedside manner with children. He has a strong support staff. There's very minimal wait time. You don't go to his office and wait an hour." He usually finds the issue in the first issue. He'll take care of the problem or refer you to someone who can.

"The doctor was friendly and explained that with rashes it is difficult to know what the cause was especially since nothing in my son's environment changed." I explained that we had been using allergy medicine for several days with no change in the rash. He told us to continue taking allergy medicine and prescribed a steroid cream and said that should do it. I trusted his advice, he seemed sure that was the trick, and then sent us on our way. Because he seemed so sure, I didn't question - well what happens if it doesn't go away or gets worse? One week later, my son's rash has not lessened in anyway and has spread to areas that were rash free. In hindsight, I realized the service would have been deserving of A's if he said something like, "If it's not gone in (insert time frame here), come back to see us." Or, "If it's not gone in (insert time frame here), make an appointment with a dermatologist (or an allergist)." At this point I now have to try trial and error because we weren't told what to do if the treatment did not work. I'm willing to give them another
because I understand that rashes are tricky and difficult, but I hope that any future visits are better when it comes to communication and treatment.

Hello, this is Kyle K from the Member Care Department.

I apologize for my delay. We encourage healthcare providers to list the insurances they accept when creating their Angie’s List profile. At this time however, many providers have not completed this section, or the information wasn't available when Angie's List created their listing.
I encourage you to visit your insurance provider's website, as many offer search tools to find local healthcare providers. You can then cross-reference these with Angie's List. We’re happy to help look up these individual providers for you, too.
I am sorry I could not answer your question directly, but I hope this information was helpful.

Please let me know if there's any other assistance or info I can provide. You can respond in line to this Q&A thread by submitting a new answer. Pediatric reviews in Lecanto

we've been going to Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
at ADC since my son was born nearly two years ago. It's been fantastic, and I have been happy every single time we've been. We go for regular checkups and whenever he gets sick. I can also ring the nurse line and talk to them if I just have a quick question or concern. On those occasions, if they think I should see a doctor, the nurse has always found me an appointment the same day with one of the doctors at the clinic, if not Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
We have had a couple of issues with bill paying, which is annoying, but nothing too bad. The online option to pay for the pediatric clinic is temperamental, and I've often paid as soon as I got the first bill, then gotten second or third bills for the same payment, or been told at reception that I had a balance. It's supposed to be fixed now, but we haven't used it in the last couple of weeks, so fingers crossed!
All in all, I love this place, the doctors and nurses are friendly and knowledgeable, and always put my son at ease. And his anxious mother!

Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
is well suited for pediatric care. She is upbeat & patient with my daughter. She takes her time to hear all my concerns
& answer questions. She asked my daughter about basic safety questions (does she wear a seat belt, bike helmet, etc). I mentioned that some of my daughter's friends have made comments about her still being in a booster. Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
printed off material about car safety to reinforce the recommendations with my daughter. Her office personnel are friendly & good with kids too.

is kind and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate on recommending this office. Even the after hours nurses are very helpful. The only complaint I have was that I did not think that the lactation nurses offered good advise. In fact I found myself call the hospital staff lactation consultants. But other than that absolutely no complaints.

The office staff seemed annoyed when I signed in, this was our first clue that Suburban Pediatrics was not the practice for us.
The waiting room had 2 sides, one was supposed to be for sick kids and the other for well visits. Our baby was in for a check up so we sat on the well side.
The office was hot and crammed full of screaming kids. The toddler next to us was coughing up a storm so I had to cover my baby's car seat with a blanket. While waiting, I needed to change a diaper but I did not see a restroom anywhere. I tried to ask the nurse at the front desk but there was already a line of people checking out. By the time I was called back to see Dr.
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
my son had sat in a poopy diaper for too long and had the start of a nasty diaper rash. The nurse was definitely annoyed that she had to get me a plastic bag to dispose of the diaper. The nurse asked us questions and weighed our son then she left the room and we waited another 16 minutes before Dr.
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
came in. He did not apologize for the wait.
I had a few questions about breastfeeding and he looked uncomfortable and told me to make an appt with one of the nurse practitioners. Dr.
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
rushed us through the visit like we were in a drive thru restaurant.
Out of respect, we made another appt and this time we saw Dr.
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
thinking that she would be more helpful with the breastfeeding issues. As soon as she came in the room she got a phone call and left. When she came back 10 minutes later she was all smiles but when we asked about breastfeeding she told us that bottle feeding was much easier. I left feeling unheard and extremely disappointed in this practice. We switched to NorthEast pediatrics.

This is a very bittersweet review – it doesn’t end so well. Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
has honestly been one of the biggest blessings and best doctors we have ever encountered. She made my daughter feel very comfortable about some uncomfortable things. Our visits were spaced far enough apart that I’d often forget how much we liked her – both as a doctor and a person – then my daughter would have an appointment and we’d leave gushing to all friends and family that “she’s the best ever.”
We have been going to her since she worked at Child Care Limited, then followed her to her own practice, Leawood Pediatrics, in March 2012. My records only go back eight years, but I know it’s been slightly longer than that.
Upon moving to her own practice, she chose the best possible partners (we love all of the doctors there), but made some terrible missteps with office management – which I believe was handled by employees the physicians hired. Along this bumpy road, there were several hiccups and things that were far more challenging, all administratively, than we had experienced at our worst providers. The office managers seemed nice enough, but they always had someone to blame – a new system, someone who just left, etc.
For example, in Aug 2012, we were billed $255.27. But, our insurance EOB said we only owed $105.27. I spoke with someone named
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
multiple times and she couldn’t get the bill right, so I finally just paid her $105.27 a few weeks later and told her I was done with it. Then, in Feb 2013, they billed me for an EXTRA office visit. Who does that? I spoke with
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
that time and she said it was an accident. A mistake. Just
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
’t pay it. In Oct 2014, I finally received a bill from lab services completed in April of that year. It took them SIX months to bill me. Unfortunately, the weirdest one of all (which I think happened sometime during 2014), I cannot find in my records for a specific date/contact. I received an email notification that I was late for a bill that I paid almost an entire year earlier. Upon calling the office, they agreed that I paid it and fixed the error.
I know. I never ended up paying too much because I caught all of the errors. But, you’ll see why this matters:
As of May of 2015 (just days before an annual appointment), we received notice that they had implemented a new payment policy of either (a) requiring direct access to our payment method (which is a bank account) or (b) a deposit of $200 payable to Leawood Pediatrics. (Like an escrow account, but not for your mortgage … just for ear infections and the stomach flu. Sound a bit much? Do they have that many people not paying their bills?) Despite years of prompt and accurate payments on my part (never late), and fending off incorrect amounts on their part, they were requesting direct access to my bank account?
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, sorry. No.
I tried calling Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
twice to discuss this. Her new office manager either wouldn’t forward my messages to her, or Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
my input important, because I’ve been waiting two months (yes, months) for a return call, and haven’t heard a word. We also cancelled a scheduled appointment at the same time, so they are clear we’ve picked a new doctor (another whom we love, so
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
’t fear – there are many great pediatricians out there if you also find this policy distasteful). The office manager also did not forward our daughter’s records to the new doctor despite our new doctor's request. I find that particularly unprofessional.
As of today’s date,
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
15, 2015, you can read this policy in full on their website. “If the balance is less than $100 your card will be charged automatically.” You only get a courtesy call if it’s greater than $100. Oh, and if you fail to notify them of any insurance changes within 30 days of your visit and this mishap causes an initial denial of your claim, be prepared for all charges to become your responsibility – which they now have authority to take directly from your account. Like, right now. Then, even better, according to the “Highlights of Important 2014 Financial Changes” page on their website, “If after insurance has processed and your account acquires a credit of $50 or more and no outstanding services are pending, a refund will be made back to the card originally used.” So, apparently if they make an insurance error of $49 or less, they have the right to keep the money and not refund it – whether that be a pending credit for months/years or not returned at all. Who knows? That part isn’t explained.
As much as we love Dr
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, her office is not getting a direct line to my bank account. Especially with their track record of billing me incorrectly. No thanks. This was our personal experience, and we
Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
’t plan to go back to Leawood Pediatrics.

I began going to Dr.

Lecanto Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
always takes the time to make sure everything you need for your child is taken care of so you don't have multiple visits. She is very thorough and because of her my son is getting all of the extra help he needs.
- Lauren L.

We love her. She's great with my son. I feel educated and included with my son's care, not just like I'm being told what to do for him. And the concerns that I had for things, like adjusting our vaccine schedule, were things that we discussed. She made me feel included like a parent should be.
