Remodeling reviews in Kissimmee

The work L&D has done for me so far includes the following: Painting the walls and woodwork of a 600-square-foot garage apartment, repairing a leaking AC vent, fixing some fuse-box issues, and checking to see if I had any electrical problems in the garage apartment with some switches and light fixtures. This work took a team of three people (Donnagh, her husband

) two and a half days to complete, starting Wednesday, May 23, through Friday, May 25, 2012. They picked up all the materials they needed and provided me with all the receipts for those purchases. They arrived to work promptly at the time promised each day, calling me right away if anything came up to cause any kind of delay in arrival, and letting me know at the end of each work day as to how the job was going and if the estimated time of completion was still on schedule. They finished the entire job at the time they promised, late Friday afternoon. As for the work itself, it was outstanding. The paint job looks just beautiful, and it was such a relief to have my AC vent repaired (a job that my usual HVAC company made a huge production about and didn't seem at all confident they could actually fix). I was also very happy to have my fuse-box issue resolved and receive an honest opinion that I did not, in fact, have an electrical problem with my light switches--I merely had a situation in which the former tenant had not replaced a single burned out bulb. L&D replaced all my bulbs for me and didn't try to convince me I needed thousands of dollars of re-writing, or some such (as another handyman might have done). They cleaned up after themselves when they were done, and Donnagh also threw in several other extra services for free, including removing a stubborn stain on a kitchen counter that a maid service had not been able to resolve and caulking all the kitchen counters because Donnagh noticed they needed it, something I had overlooked. //
In addition, Donnagh,

and the third member of their team,

, were and are unfailingly considerate, pleasant and professional in their attitude toward me as a customer. I had specifically asked that the work be completed while it was still light out--which is something I ask of every contractor--so that I could see clearly what they had done when I performed the expected customer's post-job inspection before final payment. Donnagh took this request as a matter of course (unlike a nightmare of a handyman I used several years ago who finished up the job late at night such that a true inspection was impossible, and towered over me and yelled at me that my wanting to do an inspection was a ploy to cheat him until I gave in and paid him--and, of course, not surprisingly, his work turned out to be really shoddy, much of which I'm now asking Donnagh to re-do). Donnagh understands thoroughly that a business's reputation and customer goodwill are extremely important if that renovation/repair company hopes to get repeat business, and L&D will certainly get repeat business from me. //
Finally, let me state that I can recommend these hard-working professionals without reservation. I am delighted to have found a company that is fully qualified to help me with any home repair or improvement needs I can think of now and in the future. Anything they cannot do themselves, they have long-term relationships with other professionals, including plumbers, electricians and so forth to augment their own multitude of talents for any job I might need to have done. A company this good is, understandably, very popular, so they book up as much as 6 weeks in advance for a job. However, if a customer has a real need for a rush job, they are willing to work night and day--sometimes 12-14-hour days and over weekends, and without apparently charging extra rush fees--in order to do that emergency work to keep a customer happy.

The contractor was very quick to respond, meet, and provide a very detailed price quote on the spot. Professional package with insurance, comparable project pictures, and payment terms. Pricing was good - we were impressed initially.

The job started on time, tear-out and demolition was done well, and the

/foundation and wall substrate installation was excellent. Dust proofing with plastic protectors on doorways and furnished areas was conducted as good as could be expected. They were careful moving out the debris through the master bedroom.

The problem throughout the job was sloppiness in execution creating a great deal of unnecessary duplicate work - where parts of the wall tile installation needed to be pulled out and relaid. The main bathroom floor tile laying was excellent, but for some reason the walls were a challenge, spacers weren't used consistently, mosaic tile cutouts were irregularly shaped (cuts were eyeballed, not based on a template). While the contractor owner didn't have a problem making sure the work was of high standard and met expectations (i.e., tearing out part of the days work), it was very trying to constantly do a quality check throughout each day and supervise the job of the staff when the business owner wasn't present. A major example was when the shower floor had to be completely pulled up the day after it was laid - the contract had it in a diamond pattern, and it was laid square. Again the contractor owner was "happy" to pull up the tile so it met the contract terms. This all added up to days of delays and unnecessary work and continued mess. The project is complete and glad that we have the bathroom back in shape. It looks great from a design standpoint and the end project has a remaining few minor mistakes we've chosen to overlook and are barely noticeable.

While they may have been going through training with some of the new employees (quality control) I'd use them if you want an average job at a good price. Perhaps they've improved in the past six months - but right now, I don't have another project where I'd need tile work. Was happy with their professionalism in the beginning and their diligence to "make it right" - but for the good price it was a fair installation.

I have a guest shower and bathroom that was in dire need of repair. The walls were moldy and the shower floor was coming up in some places, I got a few quotes from other sources and they were way higher than my budget allowed. I could not believe that doing my bathroom was gonna be that high.

came in and gave me a quote that was so reasonable that I at first wondered if he was serious. He was More reasonable and included more details and custom work than the other contractors had quoted. He worked diligently for 3 days and I must tell you that I went from having a standard bathroom to having a custom bathroom with lots of intricate detail and the work is flawless, This guy is truly a professional and a perfectionist, I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone and will definitely be using him for other work as my guest bathroom now looks better than my master bathroom. I AM DEFINITELY A FAN!!!!!!!!!!!

sent a friend to do the work, he did not know what he was doing, he came 2 more times and never came again. Today is 10/30/07 and only some of the baseboards are done. I tried to call him on the phone but can not get him. I filed a complaint with the BBB to see if they can help me. Now all I would like is some of my money back.

quoted me a very good price so I would give him the work. I see now that he is not able to do this kind of work, or it would have been done.

The results were great. Everything came out exactly as we wanted, and as we expected since we have employed

several other times for smaller jobs in our home.
Kissimmee Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is a real pro, a real hard worker, an expert craftsman, and totally reliable.

They cracked my sink during the installation. They only painted one coat of paint after saying that they would two on. The old paint was showing through. There were pen

on the wall. The drywall wasn't done well, which I covered up with a tower vanity. When they installed the shower, they didn't seal it to prevent it from leaking and I had to have someone else do that. The tile in the shower was very rough and jagged. This was a big headache. They were not detailed oriented at all. I would not recommend them.

They did not ask for any money up front, they waited until work was completed and we were satisfied before they charged us. They do really good work. They gave us an estimate and they stuck to the estimate.

Was never on time even though I had requested specifically that they arrive early in the am. Would show up at noon, without the proper equipment only to leave to go to home depot to purchase what they needed. The nearest hd is 15 minutes away. They took an hour or better, cut down on the time they spent on our job. Then left around 4pm due to travel time back to their office in north

. I would never recommend them. Backsplash job was subcontracted by
Kissimmee Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, which I was not aware of. I still have no idea who he used since he will not return my calls or pages. I also told him 1/2 way into my project that of all the contractors that I have dealt with in my $30+ kitchen remodel that he is the most difficult and he could not understand why!

The workmanship was satisfactory. The communication to the customer and their punctuality was inadequate. The days I took off work to be here for them they were not here and the days I was at work they were here.
