Pediatrics

Pediatricians see children from birth to age 21 for immunizations, routine checkups, and to treat illnesses and injuries, helping kids grow into healthy adults.

When we first started going, we saw a physician who is, unfortunately, no longer with the practice. If she were still there, I would be staying, because we really liked her. Unfortunately she isn't, so we are leaving. We have seen 3 other physicians and haven't been very happy with any of them. At our son's 9-month appointment, we were told - in rapid fire,

fashion - that he is "too small," "developmentally behind," and has a heart murmur. No explanation given and no guidance given on how to address these issues, other than being told to give our exclusively breastfed baby formula and keep working on his milestones. When I asked questions, I felt like I was blown off. Just before he turned one, he had some problems with his p****. They needed to do a catheter to see if he had a UTI. The first doctor didn't do it right (used the wrong size) and my son was TRAUMATIZED and then had to go through it again! At his 12-month appointment, we were again told that he's too small and that he's developmentally behind. Again, no guidance given on how to address these issues. When I asked how to encourage him to stand/walk, I was told to "just stand him up in the middle of the room and let go." No. That is not helpful. Needless to say, we are switching practices. I feel that the physicians haven't addressed our concerns thoroughly. I don't feel like we are heard. Yes, the office staff is wonderful. It's great that they have late evening hours and are open on Saturdays. They've been really responsive on the few occasions that we've needed to call off-hours. But in general, I think the bedside manner of some of the physicians is seriously lacking.

We have seen Dr.
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
twice now for exams of my elementary age child. Once was an annual physical and the second for a medical concern. The physical was during the summer and our wait time wasn't long at all. The second was a scheduled appointment, after school. Our wait for the second appointment was an hour, which I felt was ridiculous since it was scheduled and not a "work-in." This was actually a second appt as we had made an appt a week earlier and when we arrived we were told that it had never been entered into the system. I made the next appt right there and wanted an appt after 3pm, but was told they could only schedule as late as 2pm but that I could call the morning of and push it to later in the day. That is exactly what I did and they acted like this was "the norm." I think that "norm" is not customer friendly and should be changed. Both visits with Dr.

were great. He is very good with children and has a lot of knowledge of the medical resources for pediatrics in the area. He asks questions from a big picture view of the patient's health. He speaks to parent and child with respect and concern. I would strongly recommend him to anyone seeking a pediatric gp. The Stone Oak practice itself is hit and miss. It seems they may over-schedule at times and the staff's friendliness varies from person to person. I think they could improve as an overall team. Their billing department can not provide a detailed invoice at the time of the appt which is extremely inconvenient if you are filing it on your FSA. Fortunately my child is not sick that often so for the few times I have to go in we can tolerate the office issues.

We visited this office upon recommendation of others. I tried to get an appointment with Dr
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, but she only works Mondays. And then Dr.
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, but my understanding is she left this practice. We ended up seeing Dr.

, an elderly gentleman who has practiced pediatrics for a number of years. The wait to get in was not bad, but the wait after we got in was very long! Both of my children needed a school physical, and my son needed one shot. We were there almost 3 hours. Dr.
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
is kind enough, but he is old school. He stood in the room while telling my 8-year-old son to strip down for his exam. My (shy) son was embarrassed and started crying. I explained it would be better if he offered a gown & left the room, which he did. He was nice enough to both my children, and seemed knowledgeable, but he likes to tell lots of stories about his past experiences. Not a problem if you don't mind making your visit an "experience" and not just a quick office visit! The office itself is nothing to write home about. I think they could make it more kid-friendly. All-in-all, it's ok.

I really like this pediatrics office. The staff is super friendly and they're quick to get you out of the waiting room and into the exam room. They have great hours and even on Saturdays with tons of appointment times available. Dr.
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
is wonderful. She does such a wonderful job with our girls, she will sit there and answer all your questions and you never feel like you are being rushed so she can get on to other patients. Now the only bad thing about that is you sometimes wait in the exam room for an hour or so before you see her so bring plenty of books, toys and snacks to entertain your little ones!

Dr.

got us in the same day as a new patient. Great staff. Very helpful and Dr.
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
took the time to answer all questions. For me, the biggest thing, and I know that some of you parents will know what I mean, is that she actually listened to my wife and I when we described what was going on and what we felt was happening. Very refreshing. We have definitely found our pediatrician!

Dr. Viverito and his staff are amazing! I have been taking my children to this office since my oldest (now 30) was about 7. One of my children had back problems at 12 years old and Dr. Viverito made sure that she had the best specialist in town. Her situation was very severe and she came out of it with flying colors. Another of my children has special needs and has not been the easiest to care for. Dr. V's staff has been amazing. They have helped me transition him from a volatile child into a more mature young man who understands his issues and has a handle on them. There is much more I can say, but the bottom line is that this is an Dr and staff. Thank you for all of your care throughout the years.

I took in a infant because I suspected he had an ear infection. We saw Dr
Islamorada Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
. I don't understand why somebody who seems so uninterested in children chose pediatrics. His bedside manner was bland, his interest in my and my child was non-existent, and I wasn't even convinced he was diagnosing correctly. He truly did not seem to care. We did get a prescription for eye drops, and I have never been back.
