How to Get Rid of Springtails

One of the most effective ways to control springtails is to dry out the infested area. Springtails require a high-moisture environment to breed and thrive, living mostly off of algaes that grow in moist conditions. They will either leave the infested area or die out. If there is an infestation that cannot be controlled by drying out the infested area, use an appropriately labeled insecticide with a residual time These will typically be a liquid concentrate form, a wet-able powder form, or a dust product.  DO NOT APPLY UNTIL AREAS ARE DRY.  If area will not dry naturally, use Corn Starch to soak-up any lingering moisture and otherwise 'steer' any rain water or irrigation away from area.

Also, if there is a noticed springtail infestation around the perimeter of the structure, use the insecticide to do a barrier treatment and apply corn starch to reduce or eliminate moisture. Caulk and seal all cracks and crevices and inspect potted plants before they are brought into the house.

I would talk to your local lawn and garden supply store (or mill and feed) - NOT a box store or hardware store. There are also selective grass control chemicals. YOu can research this by Googling using search string      "Tall Fescue Control" - there are lots of articles by the USDA and individual state cooperative extension services.

There is a treatment called chlorsulfuron TFC (Tall Fescue Control) that will do this - it worked for me in western New York, but took 3 years to finish out all the tall fescue. It may now be limited to use by commercial applicators - pretty potent stuff. Can yellow bluegrass or make it phytosensitive, but our looked OK during treatment because the TFC was applied in the fall for best results, and our lawn was dormant till spring anyway.

Tall fescue can also be controlled by real short mowing, but only in areas where the bluegrass is dominant and really thrives so will eventually crowd out the trimmed fescue, but you may be too far north for that.

On May 8, 2014, Purchased from Angie's List $89 for 3 Lawn Care applications for my elderly mother who chooses to avoid a nursing home and remain in her home. Email communication with Organic Turf advised me that service dates would be whenever a technician is in the area, but that they could send me a text message the afternoon before. Good enough. don't know how many applications were actually applied, but she still had weeds and dandelions in her lawn. Nevertheless, I purchased another deal for personal household several months later. I then found out that Organic Turf had billed my elderly mother for unauthorized additional applications. I spoke to
Inverness Lawn Aeration Provider Name Locked
who advised me that the deal was only part of an annual treatment and that the $89 was for the first 3 applications. I replied that no such information was disclosed in the Angie's List offer. I advised him to cancel all services immediately including the additional one that I just purchased for my own household.
Now I find that my mother received a letter from American Profit Recovery, a collection agency date February 9, 2015. Now I have to go through all the rigamarole to dispute the charge and prevent a collection from showing up on my mom's credit. I am steaming mad.

It was fine. Initially I wasn't satisfied but they immediately went over the areas that I was concerned about. They didn’t leave until I was satisfied. The price was excellent.

They took care of me for about 8 years. They did a fine job on the paving. The prices were reasonable. They were responsive on times when I would need them to do service and I was happy with them.

He provided a detailed plan with a map of his planned work and photos of the proposed plantings. Team showed up on time, completed the work and cleanup on time. The owner was present at my home for all work. He provided advice and guidance on the care and maintenance of the new plantings and recommended an environmentally friendly, non-toxic weed controller that works very well and is cheap to buy and easy to use. It's nearly a year later and the xeriscaped area still looks wonderful.

I've been using
Inverness Lawn Aeration Provider Name Locked
for several years now. I do pay annually and
get a discount for doing so but it is about $30/month. I used to do my
own fertilizing but I just wasn't getting the results no matter what I
tried and now my lawn looks significantly better . A couple of times
I've called them in between scheduled visits and they came out again at
no charge. Yes, I recommend them.

is very efficient, prompt and professional to work with. When they did the major landscaping project on my yard, they were here the days and times they promised they would be. All work and clean-up was done in a timely manner, all employees were very professional and nice as they completed the job. I would highly recommend

We were not pleased with the results and canceled the service. Once we canceled service, they continued to call regularly during the dinner hour and later, to sale their service to us again. When we asked that they stop calling, they responded that by law they could call us for three years and that they were not going to stop calling. We ended reporting them to the Better Business Bureau to get them to stop calling. Very disappointing.
