"I was very please with the quality of construction, communication and attention to details. Building a home can often be a stressful endeavor but I have to say that my experience was very pleasant.

the owner of the company was hands on. He was on site for the entire project. His expertise and know how was evident throughout the whole project. His oversite to every deatil is what we were looking for and he delivered....more /> They used all materials to ensure that the basement will always remain dry and healthy for our family.
The ceiling, walls and floor are completely new. They installed a bamboo floor. The real stuff not the snap in kind. It looks and feels amazing. The walls and ceiling are all sheetrocked and painted. The trim work is impeccable, very neat and clean. He installed a row of
seats from
stadium and built a custom platform to put them on. He also installed a Locker from
stadium. He had to disassemble the locker and seats to get them into our basement then reassemble them. This was all very custom work and he did a great job.He was VERY careful not to damage any of our house while bringing the locker and seats into our basement. Very respectful of our home.
I am a musician and needed cases to store my guitars. He made a wall display case for one of my guitars and trimmed it with a "tiger wood" and constructed it so it is airtight to accomadate the instruments very strict humidity control. It is beautiful. He also constructed a floor display case for all of my other guitars. It has a glass display window and is beautiful to look at.
He also custom made built in cabinets to store things in and to have a glass top to display things on. All the wood used matches my guitar display cases. He is a master carpenter because all the furniture looks like we purchased it in a store.
He is very polite he was always on time. The big thing for us. He did not start other work on another job and juggle us with his other customers. We were his ONLY customer till he finished our project. He made us feel like his only priority. It seems to be the norm for companies to juggle and spin plates while doing work for us.They start our job then leave to start another job then juggle us with another customer. We hate that.
said we would be his only focus till he was done. And he did exactly that. We would hire him again and would recommend him in a heartbeat.

"Failed to finish the job, hundreds of phone calls and emails attempting to obtain additional money for work not completed; claimed not to know what a punch list was and did not complete punch list; missed contractual completion date by a year; didn't connect whole house water filtration; didn't put in an access panel to

heated tub; sloppy or inadequate caulking of windows; installation of custom doors and windows, and flooring, allowing water leakage; crawlspace left unfinished, wet, inadequate ventilation; a litany of other little things that ultimately cost me another $150000 to take finish the project.

"We chose to go with
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
because we knew 4 other family friends who had all used
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
and had raved about him. Plus we had seen his work in their homes and new that he would be meticulous and it he would do it the right way. Also important for us was having someone we felt we can trust in our house when we aren't at home.
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
was the right choice and we couldn't be happier with the work that
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
did. We chose out cabinets and finishes that were not easy and he and his team took their time to make sure they did it perfectly. If it wasn't done right, they started over! We were also very impressed with how careful
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
was. Every day his crew would put down tons of blankets to make sure they kept our house clean. At the end of each day, they would clean up the work area and it would be spotless again (or as close to spotless as a kitchen being remodeled could be). Over the next few years, we plan to remodel our Master Bathroom and will definitely use

"Chip and his team is AMAZING. The team has a meticulous attention to detail. You would never know that the basement was completed after the home's construction. Every detail, including trim, hardware, and ceiling finish is an EXACT match to the main floors of the house. Every person that walks into the basement has the same reaction....WOW!...more /> I have an amazing custom bar with arm rail, a theater room with surround sound, a playroom with french doors leading to a family room, and a full bathroom with shower, toilet, and urinal. The results of his work defines 'man cave.'
The workers were on-time every day. Over the course of the 6 week project, we got to know each of his workers like they were part of our family. I would have no problem leaving him the keys to our house and giving them full access to work while we were out of town. He is that trustworthy and reliable.
There are few companies out there that truly take pride in their work, and this company is one of them. I couldn't be happier with the whole process. On time, on budget, and phenomenal result.

"Avoid this home builder and general contractor/home improvement company at all costs due to fraudulent billing practices, inferior work product and performance, and failure to perform. We entered two contracts totaling more than $300k in early 2012--yes, 2012--for home renovation and home repair to our residential single-family home. All work was to be completed in less than 4 months but remains substantially incomplete after **2 years and 3 months** with FINAL PERMIT EXTENSIONS expiring in the coming weeks. Here are just the highlights, which are being reported to the authorities, and we have extensive documentation and photographs to confirm all the below:
(1) Fraudulent billing: the company several times presented us with invoices for "progress payments" that were due at the start of various work milestones for work that they knew was not starting and often was not started until many months later after substantial work stoppages--
(a) presented us with invoice in
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
2012 for progress payment due at start of rough-in of plumbing, paid within 48 hours: they said work was scheduled but was not done until Oct/Nov 2012.
(b) presented us with invoice in September 2012 (after whole project was supposed to be DONE) for pouring of basement slab, paid within 48 hours: they said work was scheduled to begin following day, but masonry subcontractor came and removed all equipment from site due to non-payment by
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
.
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
admitted in January 2013 that this work was still not scheduled. Work was not done until Mar/Apr 2013, after we confronted them (after many prior discussions) for prolonged work stoppage.
(c) presented us in
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
2012 with change order invoice for mold remediation ($10k) and demanded payment with 24 hours due to safety threat to our family and workers, we paid promptly. Work was not done until Mar/Apr 2013, after we confronted them (after many prior discussions) for prolonged work stoppage.
(2) Denial of basic habitability: we were living in the main part of the house with small children for the duration of this project. When the company began work again in Apr/May 2013 after a prolonged work stoppage (holding the majority of our money for the project due to the fraudulent billing practices above), they removed all radiator heating pipes and air conditioning ductwork for the main house in order to replace joists and relocate ductwork.

then stopped work again, leaving us without air conditioning until mid-
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
2013 and without heat into October 2013, when outside temperatures were in the 30s and 40s.
(3) Substantial nonperformance on home renovation project: Work still incomplete on home renovation project after 2 years & 3 months. Project was for basement excavation (living space, bedroom, and bathroom), new garage in existing basement, and larger driveway. Work is substantially incomplete—no finished access or stairs to even get to basement space, no toilet/shower/sink installed in bathroom, no garage door (there is just screwed in plywood, and this garage is at the basement level of our house!), HVAC installation not complete, egress window well not complete, no driveway (or rebuilding of the retaining wall
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
took out holding up neighbor’s 8-ft wall of dirt at side of driveway).
(4) Substantial nonperformance on separate home repair project: We also contracted at the same time for home repairs to main house, which are substantially incomplete: 4 window sashes that
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
ordered incorrectly STILL have not been ordered; 2 sets of interior doors never installed; roof repair on balcony appears to be leaking again into living area; decking installed on balcony is badly warped; railing not installed level; chipped and damaged housing shingles not replaced; new window trim and repaired exterior parts of house never painted.
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
also showed no regard for our home--they took off and damaged the original shutters with iron hinges from our 1920s home during window replacement in Summer 2012 and never put them (or replacements) back on the house, and also damaged/splintered the original hardword floors in the main entry hall of our house in Summer 2012, put lots of masking tape over it, and left it like that ever since while promising to repair.
We received another bid for this project from a very reputable local builder that was not substantially more than the bid from
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
and wish we would have gone with them.

"Great experience with this company. We had several bids, and decided to go with Gates because of their design plan and cost. The Gates team were great to work with. Prompt, professional, and courteous. We are pleased with the finished product, and we would recommend Gates for any remodeling project. We wish we would have had them quote us on the bathroom remodels, but at the time of the basement project, we didn't think to ask...our mistake. Thanks,
Hudson Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
and team for a great job.

was one a few concrete companies to even return my calls after severe storms last spring. He came to the house for an estimate and was back within a few days for the work. This spring, storms have been equally bad and his work has held. No longer rushing to basement to check for leaks! Pleased with all aspects of this company and would recommend.
