agreed to see" our place the next day. She was familiar with our home as she used to play tennis with the previous owner. We toured the house as I explained the changes we wanted. At the end of the your I specified that we had a $75,000 budget. We ended our meeting discussing payment. She explained: "It's easy: I charge 20% of each invoice I give you. But I've been doing this for a long time, so I will get a designer discount that will make it so that you'll be essentially getting my services for free..." All was clear...I thought... The next day she came with a contractor, a floor guy, a window guy, and a kitchen guy. The kitchen guy asked us if we could move a for so that he can get a good kitchen design... After they all left she told me there was a $5000 retainer fee, but I can give it to her the next time she came.... Soon enough she showed up with 4 samples of luxury vinyl planks, 3 tiles and I think 2 or 3 for styles. We really didn't like any of the samples she brought, but we made some elections and gave her the retainer fee. We did ask her to leave the samples we selected.... This day we went to a friend's birthday party and told our friends the exciting news. Two of our older friends literally screamed "FIRE HER! ! THAT LADY'S A CROOK! ! ". But we had already given her the retainer and paid a sublease to move out of our house. I guess they say our worried faces and the younger ones reassured us. I just said I can take care of us... We went to multiple floor ships looking at samples and found multiple samples that we liked much more than the ones she brought us. One store learned who was our designer. They used to work with her. They shared horror stories of her. These are not mine to share in this review... Needless to say that she wasn't happy when she heard that we were going to buy our floors from this company on our encounter. The prices they gave us were better than the ones she got us (and this was without the 20% designer discount! !). She gave us a list of appliances she wanted us to buy with her
account (remember her 20% cut). These were supposed to be mid grade appliances that she got us according to our budget. She left 4-5 samples of vanities for the bathrooms she searched on the internet. After she left I searched for appliances on my own and found much higher quality appliances at a better price than her. At this point I had lost all my faith in her and felt things were moving too fast. I called her and asked her for an itemized estimate for the entire project. I wanted to make sure our budget wasn't going to be consumed in only two spaces and the rest of the house left up to us. Days later she shows up with an estimate for the kitchen and floors. My fears were confirmed so we told her at that point we couldn't work with her. She tried tell us that she could be our designer for a flat fee of $10,000. We also didn't agree and asked for our retainer back. After threatening to
her and reporting her to the internal design society (don't ask how she's a member...), 2.5 months later she told me she was going to leave a check the day I had planned meeting with our lawyer. She didn't show up, but left a $2000 check the next day. So, we ended up paying $3000 for a disappointment, wasted time in an apartment that wasn't ours and not even a sketch our idea on what to do. In the meantime and ironically, we ended up hiring a contractor that had been wronged by her and still owes him money.... We hired a designer that gave the designs we needed for half her price! This was our experience. Good luck! I hear she's a good designer...

"We were instructed to get an outside furniture repairer to fix the dresser drawers that were falling out and to submit the receipt to Design West. That was back" in the beginning of
. It is now the end of August and still no refund. After much emailing and calling back and forth I received an email from the job coordinator giving me the name of the manufacturer and telling ME to go after the money myself. We bought a beautiful sofa from them. High quality, but the fabric, which we stated that we wanted something durable, started
after about 3 months. After much back and forth, we finally got one new slip cover for one piece of the sectional and returned the defective piece which was supposed to be analyzed and we were to be gotten back to regarding the other cushions that needed new covers. That's been since June and here it is the end of August, and still nothing from the manufacturer. This is only one of DOZENS of stalling and inferior service from Design West. We thought that by biting the bullet and going to a high end place, things would go smoothly. They went anything but and I now have to replace some of the mistakes that they have made.

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

Interior Design reviews in Gulf Breeze

I contacted this designer because she was recommended to me by a friend. In my initial phone call I stated that I wanted her to help me select paint color and flooring for my new home. I stated that I only wanted a few hours of work because we were on a budget. She stated her hourly rate was 50 dollars an hour. I had $200 budgeted for this project. She came to my house one day and stayed for ONE hour. She brought 2 flooring samples and some paint samples. I had a dozen samples from the man we were using to install floors. We picked paint colors and flooring . She also

up a rough floor plan for our living room. We texted and called one time because I had a few more floor samples. She stopped by one other day for 1/2 an hour to look at the new samples. She mailed me two floor plans for our living room. She billed me for EIGHT hours of work. I contacted her and asked for a breakdown of the hours other than the time spent onsite at my house. She never called me back. We eventually paid the bill. I would not recommend her to anyone. I am happy with the selections she helped me make, but feel that she lacks integrity and honesty.

toured our house, helping me determine options for adding color to our living room, kitchen, entry area, and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. We started with all-cream-colored walls, in our large home, and I now have have a plan for integrating colors I never thought we would use, but I am convinced will work well. I am thrilled with the initial results, and just finished painting a small bathroom a beautiful deep purple, whiich makes all the difference in the world. She was professional, knowledgeable, and immensely helpful, without being directive or pedantic.
I was amazed at all the paint color options and swatches that

presented. I'd gone for middle-of-the-road prices and colors in the past (often what was on sale), but have found that the

was very helpful. She gave suggestions for paint color, flooring, decorating, and furniture placement. She considered our style, stage of life (4 kids at home), and functionality. She was direct, honest, and insightful. I feel ready to move forward with redecorating our family room and adjoining rooms. We will hire her again for future projects.

came on time to look at 2 rooms to organize and look great. And she did that. Gave ideas that would make room look larger or smaller. Just things I never thought of. Very professional but has a great sense of personality. I felt very comfortable around her and decisions. I challenge anyone to have her come and do services for you. You will not be sorry. Promise!!!!!

was great! I highly recommend her. This was the first time I have worked with an interior designer and she totally put me at ease. She had great ideas and was very cool about the fact that we have lots of pets - 4 cats and 2 dogs. She even wanted to find a color that "the kitties would like" for the room that they hang out in. I really appreciated that
Gulf Breeze Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
had great ideas about how to use what I already have and not spend a ton on new furniture.
The color choices were ones that I would never have made on my own. I can't wait to see how they look on the wall!
I am looking forward to working with her on the next stage of our home revamp!
