More homeowners are realizing the beauty and elegance wallpaper can bring to a room, but don't know enough about it to decide. Here are 5 quick tips from a pro
Are you planning to install wallpaper in your home? There are many things to consider, such as the type of wall paper material and the effect you hope to create
This post clearly illustrated the flaw of bidding/contracting by the amount of materials bought or used - the same problem occurs in flooring and roofing and tile where the material comes in various length and wdith rolls, different amount of laminate or hardwood per box or SF of shingles per bundle. Even in decking- got asked once to give my two bits on an argumewnt between a homeowner and a contractor on fair payment for decking - contractor bid per SF because the final detailed layout was not established at time of bid, homeowner tried to argue that she should not be paying for the gaps between the deck boards, so she wanted to pay only 5.5/6'ths as much for the job because the "2x6" deck boards were actually only 5-1/2" wide.
It is safest to pay for the actual area covered by SF (or squares for roofing, 1 square = 100SF), then there is no argument about whether you are paying additional for overlap, partly used rolls or bundles, charging for packages of material bought but not used at all (and the potential for cheating by buying more than necessary), cutoffs or trimmings, etc - let the CONTRACTOR figure the adjustment between the amount that has to be bought to cover a certain area - the homeowner should just pay attention to the actual SF of product in-place.
