Veterinarian reviews in Estero

Our 7 year old Aussie tore an ACL in one leg and we were referred to Dr. Eisle by our vet. We went in thinking that we would treat conservatively first for about 8 weeks and see how that went before considering surgery, but we also were keeping an open mind about doing surgery sooner. We didn't mention these thoughts to Dr. Eisle and ended up not even discussing conservative treatment options with him because while in the exam room with him, we both independently came to the conclusion that we would go ahead with the surgery. He took time with us to explain the injury and the various procedures he could perform and their possible outcomes and costs (which were nearly half of what I read they could have been). He also explained the reasoning for his recommendation of the TPLO, which does in fact have its critics, but it is becoming a very common procedure.
Long story short, Dr. Eisle just made us comfortable with the decision we knew we had to make. His CV (resume) is very impressive and I know from personal experience, human doctors with similar education, training, and experience don't often come across as compassionate and caring, but Dr. Eisle certainly does.
It's very common for dogs to tear their ACL and if you google it, or even talk to friends and family with dogs who have gone through this, you'll get both positive and negative opinions as to every type of possible treatment from surgery to doing absolutely nothing. What you do with these opinions is up to you, but if you are even considering surgery, we highly recommend you at least meet with Dr. Eisle. (FYI - the consult was only $85.00 but we had already had xrays).
It hasn't even been a week since our baby girl's surgery, but she's doing great and we couldn't be happier with the choice we made and with Dr. Eisle and his staff. If that changes before she's fully recovered, I will definitely amend this review, but so far while the entire experience has been stressful (and expensive), our experience with Dr. Eisle has been wonderful.
