"I called to describe the problem and get an estimate. Unlike another provider I called, they were willing to discuss the problem and give two different price estimates," depending on exactly what the problem turned out to be. They also have a low price for diagnosing the problem, much lower than the other provider. As it turned out, the problem was the more expensive one, but still the price was very reasonable and the work was done within one day. The set worked fine; no problems.

"I called the Newington Best Buy early last evening for assistance in purchasing speakers to attach to a multi-CD player/changer. I had been sold incorrect speakers" by at least 2 other vendors. A young Hispanic male named "
" (he only gave me this name after I requested his name and that of the store manager) answered the phone. Due to his heavy accent I had to ask him to repeat nearly everything he said. He told me initially that they had a lot of speakers and if I told him which one I wanted he could tell me if it was something Best Buy carried. (I could tell that too - from their website.) I explained my dilemma again. He then replied he could not guarantee that they would have any inventory in stock of the speakers I wanted. Again I explained that I just wanted to know if they sold a set of speakers that was compatible with the multiple CD player/changer which I had purchased elsewhere but which they carry in their stores, since it does not come with speakers. He then said if I told him which speakers I wanted he could try to look it up in their computer system to see if they carried them. Frustrated at this point, I asked to speak with a supervisor.
told me not to bother because the supervisor was going to tell me the same thing (he said this in a disgusted, sarcastic,
). Again, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was left on hold for 5 minutes. Every 30-40 seconds someone would take the phone off hold and then put it back on hold again without speaking into the phone. Ultimately,
came back on the line and told me that no manager was available to help me but I could call back and leave a voicemail or call tomorrow. I asked to speak with the manager in charge of the store that evening. I was told there was no store manager on duty and to call back tomorrow. Not knowing if there was a technical difference between a supervisor and manager, I again asked to speak with ANY manager in the store. I was told there wasn't a manager in the store. I then asked to speak with an "assistant" manager and was told "they are all busy" without
so much as putting the phone on hold to go and check. Five minutes later
stated all the managers are busy (I guess now there were managers in the store again...). I told him that I would be willing to wait for the next available manager to free up so that he/she could speak to me. Before being put on hold again I also asked for this young man's name (
) and also the name of the highest ranking "person" in the store at the time of my call. I was told that
was the assistant manager on duty - but she too was too busy to take my call. I stated that I was willing to wait on hold until any manager became available to speak with me. Twenty minutes later, after the phone had been taken off hold and then placed back on hold 10 or more times, and
had not come back to the phone to provide me with a status update, I hung up. I waited 10 minutes and then had my sister call back and ask for
directly - who was immediately available to come to the phone when told that it was regarding an issue discussed with her earlier in the day (even though it wasn't). Apparently
and probably the other assistant managers in the store are only able to come to the phone if the caller is not problematic and/or calling with respect to a complaint. Ultimately, in less than 2 minutes she was able to answer my question and provide me with the guidance I needed. One has to wonder if this is the standard approach to dealing with a customer who has a question that cannot be answered by the employee assigned to the phone for the evening by Best Buy stores, or at least by the NEWINGTON Best Buy store. The employee who was answering the phones last evening was very disrespectful and either he did not relay the message to any of the managers on-duty at the store that evening or they are also disrespectful when it comes to providing customer service. I would not encourage anyone to go to this local Best Buy store unless they wish to be treated in a similar manner.

My experience if it is less than a 48" screen the screen replacement cost exceeds the cost of buying a new one.  Flat screens are mucho prone to damage from impact, I found out the same lession. Good Luck

Wow - I am jealous - a 40 foot LCD TV - that is what you call an mancave or NBA Arena (No Boys Allowed).

Seriously, the main board for a 40" Polaroid runs about $25-75 depending on model - bear in mind these are not typically slip-in socket boards - you are likely to have to disconnect and reconnect a number of wire connectors, and may have to do some soldering of connections. Google this search term - there are a number of companies selling them on the web - you will have to expand the search phrase with your exact model number to narrow the search - 40" Polaroid LCD TV main board

One thing to do first is call Polaroid - there are a number of comments on the web about a pending class action suit about Polaroid LCD TV main boards catching fire, and several commenters say that Polaroid sent a repairman to their home and replaced the main board for free when it failed, so you might try that first.

Television Repair reviews in Cocoa

Repaired in less than a day at very reasonable price. Repaired at component level whereas all others I called would have replaced entire power supply at greater cost.
- Regina B and Alan L.

We had a power outage from summer storms and heat. Afterwards, when power was restored my rear-projector

wouldn't turn on.
I checked
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
for options and found this contractor who for the most part had positive reviews. I called and we spoke briefly about my problem and the type of
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
I had....then we scheduled an appointment.
He called the morning of the appointment to agree on a specific time. He arrived on the button of the time we agreed to. He quickly set up his tools and drop cloth and told me what he was about to do. Then he did what he told me he was going to do...opening the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
to get at the electronics.
In a short period of time he told me what he thought was wrong and that he thought he could fix the problem that day. But he told me that once he was inside the problem component it might be worse than he thought and that he might have to send for a replacement. Fingers crossed I wished him luck to fix... and find a cure that day. He found the problem and fixed it.
Then he told me that he would clean and re-adjust the projection and that I would be pleased with the better clarity on the screen. He made all the adjustments and BAM...the picture was better than when it was new.
I think this contractor was perfect, in professionalism, price, quality of work and speed of repair. Most importantly he saved me from buying a replacement for this expensive

is very polite and was able to schedule a timely mannered appointment. Our Vizio

He helped take the TV out of the rec room in the garage, took it to his shop, repaired it, returned it and hooked it up to make sure everything was working right. He was very professional and expedient, he explained everything he was doing and what needed to be done. He was GREAT!
- Sybil E.

I couldn't be more satisfied with the repair service performed by APM. Owner (Angel) made an onsite call to diagnose the issue. He identified the root cause to be a specific circuit board. He recommended taking the TV back to his shop to order the part (circuit board) or, more likely, repair the existing board. A replacement circuit board was no longer available from Sony so Angel spent the time to isolate/replace the defective component on the existing board. He charged me for time and cost of component which was comparable to the cost of a replacement board had it been available. Total repair was $400 which included the onsite service call and pick-up/delivery of TV to shop. This was a deal because it resurrected a favorite TV that has excellent picture quality.
What set the repair service apart in my mind was Angel's knowledge/experience with the Sony TV he was repairing. Before contacting APM, I had another TV repair shop (highly-rated Angie's list) make an onsite service call. The other repair tech similarly diagnosed the issue for $80. However, he recommended NOT spending any more money trying to repair the TV because he felt that, based on his experience, the circuit board would very likely fail again due to some other issue with the TV -- which had caused it to blow in the first place. He explained that it was not possible to run the full battery of diagnostics on the TV due to the fact it would not power-up. Therefore, there could be additional defective parts or other issues that would cause the circuit board to fail again. He suggested trying to sell the color engine on ebay (since there was a real demand for them) and move on. The repair tech was professional and knowledgeable but my gut told me that was he was mistaken.
While APM/Angel acknowledged the dilemma of not being able to fully test the TV until the faulty circuit board was resolved, he felt very confident the board was the only issue based on his knowledge of known issues and otherwise reliability of the TV. He said he would risk spending the money on the repair if it were his TV. I trusted his professional judgement and I'm thankful I did.
Out of fairness to the first repair shop, I waited over a year to write this review to ensure the circuit board did not blow-out again. TV has worked like new ever since the APM repair with no issues. Woohoo!!

They showed up at the agreed time and repaired the set at my home. They replaced six capacitors. The job took about 45 minutes and the charge was very close to what they estimated on the phone. They tech (
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
) was very professional and personable.

IHTS diagnosed the problem with my TV and located a hard-to-find part. Upon installing the part, a second issue was uncovered (couldn't have been detected prior to installing the part). The fix for the second issue was far more costly than the TV was worth, so IHTS returned the first part.
In the end, my TV wasn't fixable at a worthwhile price, but I do not feel like I got ripped off getting the problem identified. They only charged me for the diagnostic fee they originally quoted me on the phone.
Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional.
I would definitely use their services again if the need arises.
- Dominique P.

I can't recommend this contractor enough!
I have a flat screen
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
that broke one month after the warranty expired. I was hesitant to call a television repairman, because I didn't know what the cost might be. It seems like these days a lot of times it costs just as much to fix something as it does to buy a new one....More /> I'm so thrilled that I called
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
The first place I called told me I had to pack up the television and bring it to them, and they would charge $65.00 just to diagnose the problem. The next place I called was a
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
repair. He came right to my house, which was so incredibly convenient! He explained he's able to charge less for repairs because he DOESN'T maintain a storefront shop, which made a lot of sense to me. In other words, I was getting the same repair I'd get if I hauled the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
somewhere, but for cheaper and with much more convenience! I didn't pay a premium for a "house visit". I'm sold on that!!
The technician was highly knowledgeable and knew exactly what the problem was, and was even familiar with my television, because he knew this problem is common with these televisions. He quoted me $250 to fix the issue and he'd return to do the work when the parts came in.

When the parts came in he returned to complete the repair. He was able to fix the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
, but I had an unfortunate situation in that the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
was not done breaking. It worked for a couple of days but then stopped working again. I called him and he came back out right away to discover that he had replaced two of the four boards that could go bad (they were some kind of circuit boards and my
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
has four of them), and after he replaced those two, the other two went bad.
He ordered the two new boards, and when they came in he returned and replaced those as well without charging me any more money at all! Not for the parts, and not for his service. He felt like we had already paid to fix the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
and he wanted us to be satisfied that he had fixed it. Not a lot of contractors these days look at things that way. I was absolutely thrilled!
Then, the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
started buzzing after a few more days and I had to call him again. He came out and fixed that problem as well, again without charging me any more money! He didn't even want to accept the tip I offered him!
I believe I just had some bad luck with the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
--it's one of those things, as he explained, that you fix one problem only to discover something else is wrong too, and it's basically a process until you repair all of the bad parts finally. Usually the first fix does the trick, but I had one of the "exceptions". I don't believe for a second that the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
kept having problems because he wasn't a good repairman. He definitely knew his stuff and had the highest integrity.
In sum, I was seriously impressed with the guy's integrity and honesty, and the
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
is now working great for far cheaper than buying a new
Cocoa Tv Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! don't hesitate to use them.
PS, I'm rarely "thrilled" with a contractor. Anyone reading this who uses a lot of contractors knows exactly what I'm talking about, so when I find a contractor like this one, I want to tell everyone. :)
