I hired this company to do some work on my boat in the
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
Harbor boatyard. I had them drill and tap some holes into the
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
and install some new
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
bolts. They also agreed to install a new packing gland on the engine prop shaft at my request and do some minor fiberglass repair. I was assured that they had the necessary equipment to make short order of the drilling and tapping operation. After spending an hour on the engine, it was clear that the mechanical work was too much for this young crew. The owner conceded to being in over his head and brought in another company to finish the engine work. To drill the
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
bolt holes, the crew used nothing more than a department store battery operated drill. This took many many hours to complete, all of which should have taken just a few hours to complete with more appropriate industrial equipment. In short, I was charged an enormous amount of money to complete this project which should have cost half of what I was charged. I payed this young crew for their on-the-job training! They are overconfident in their capabilities and do not have the necessary equipment to do what they say they can do. There are some very capable and talented boat mechanics in the
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
area. This company is not one of them.

He started working on the boat nearly 1 year ago. Since that time, he has failed to repair the problem. He has overcharged for services and parts. Failed to show up when he said he would. It appeared that every time he was able to get a larger, more expensive, customer he would simply not show up and then later gave every excuse in the book. Since it was not season, we were very patient until the last time that he actually did show up. He gave us a large bill and did not complete the work. We finally fired him. Unfortunately, there appears to be no remedy for bad and incompetent service from so called marine mechanics. We learned the hard way. We lost a year and a lot of wasted money. I would not trust this guy with a row boat.

I received A1 as a recommendation from 3 different businesses around Lake
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
.
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
has looked at 2 boats for me before I made each purchase. Both times he has been very thorough in the inspection in making me aware of any engine issues, as well as potential future engine repair needs, before making the purchase. In addition to providing boat inspections for me, he also performs all of the service on my boat.
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
being mobile (and me not having a trailer), makes it convenient to also have him perform all of my service on my boat. I have been very pleased with the service that
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
and his side kick
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
provides, and would highly recommend

Capt. Rod's installation crew cut away sections of the supporting framework in order to fit the sections into the metal frame of the pier. According to the manufacturer, it was only necessary to trim away 1/8" of the pier top with a plane or saw to make it fit in the frame.
Now, because there is no supporting under-structure, people are stepping on the edges of the pier, cracking the frame, and breaking through the pier.
Capt. Rod refuses any more responsibility for the issue, saying it is the manufacturer's fault for selling him a defective product. If he knew it was a defective product, why did he continue to sell it to the public? There is a lot of "finger pointing" going on between Capt. Rod, the seller of the top of the pier, and the manufacturer of the frame. But in my opinion, Capt. Rod has ultimate responsibility since he sold the product.
At this point, I may be required to either once again pay for AND replace the top, and also pay for the pier to be cut apart and re-welded OR buy a new pier. Either way, I will NOT be dealing with Capt. Rod.
PS - I DO love the thru-flow pier

Living in P**** Gorda for 12 years I have struggled to fnd a reliable, trustworthy, reasonably priced marine mechanic to look after my Volvo
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
gas engines.
Spotting good reviews on Angies list i got him down to do a detail to my boat on the lift, and see if I felt i could trust him to do mechanical work on my boat.
Most detailers cannot do a good job on a lift. no problem here- he has a big float and after 5 hours my 5 year old boat looked like it was just out of the showroom. Not cheap but a great job.
On this basis i decided to trust him to do relatively major work of new risers, manifolds, + 100 hr service and outdrive removal on my Volvo 5.7GXI.
Again, most marine mechanics will not remove an outdrive on the lift.
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
can do EVERYTHING on the lift. Detail, service, outdrive removal. No one else can. Saves removing boat from water, trailering etc.
Great job, evrerything done i asked for. Competant. A couple of hiccups were overcome quickly. It all would have been done in one day but for a problem caused by the last mechanic who workred on the boat.
All in all very happy. Will use him again next year!
After 12 years I have finally found a decent boat mechanic.!

They have always been great.
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
always either answers my calls or returns them. Show up on time, have good prices and do great work. Best of all they provide a lot of information and know how on how to operate and maintain a lift. They have talked me through operation issues on the phone and even stopped by just to see how things were going (as this was my first lift). Most recently the remote stopped working.
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
stopped by and tuned the transmitter (while showing me how to do it myself) at no charge even though it was not something he had originally installed. I recommend them to everyone and will use them again if I ever need anything done on my dock or lift.

The new snap on cover made by
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
is so much easier to use and keeps the interior of our boat much drier than our previous top. We also can snap it on in less than half the time of our old one. It also looks great. Same with the Bimini top. Fabricated in their shop this isn't some flimsy secondary
Clearwater Boat Dealer Provider Name Locked
product. Very high quality and looks great. I was afraid it was going to take them a month to do this work since we didn't decide to do this until the start of the boating season. Wrong. They picked it up on a Wednesday and were done with the work on Friday! No lost boating days. They were great to work with and are highly recommended.
