is an amazing carpenter. We were moving into a new house and wanted some additional detail for our dining room. We had one day before we moved into the house, where we scheduled a number of people to come out to look at a bunch of work we wanted done to our house before we moved in.
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was one of them. He came to our house, and had such good ideas. His pricing also seemed very reasonable. We hired him to do the work.

spent about 3 days building, customizing and installing the wainscoting in our dining room. This was with us 500 miles away. He was wonderful communicating with us. He also worked around the other contractors we had working in the house.
The end result was outstanding, better than we could have imagined. The wainscoting looks like it was original to the house. (Our house was built in 1935.) We have other contractors comment on the amazing workmanship of the woodwork, as they have come into our home. We are so happy to have found

Just like when I hired them 2 years ago, the closet designer,
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, came out and listened to my ideas and talked about what I wanted, then made a few suggestions. A day later, he emailed his design to me with a contract and price. I made a few changes, and he emailed me the new changes and revised price. Once they received my deposit, they called to set up a time for install. They even emailed 2 days before the service to confirm. The installers arrived on time and even said that they had a note to be quiet in case my baby was asleep - I am glad that they actually paid attention to that. I wanted them to start in the baby's room so that my daughter could nap in her room later, but they actually suggested doing both rooms at once so that they would be finished more quickly. They were very professional and clean and made sure I was satisfied before asking for the final payment. They also offered a few payment options, which was helpful to me. A few hours later, a receipt was emailed to me for my records. I especially want to thank
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, who has now designed 4 wonderful closets in my home and
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, who is polite, friendly and professional on the phone. My installer was very kind and respectful, but I can't remember his name! Thank you,
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, for helping to organize my home. I have already recommended you and will continue to do so, and would use you again many times!

We moved a wall out two feet in order to expand our walk-in closet. This became an opportunity to upgrade the closet and to add storage space by getting rid of the horrible wire rack shelving and installing something with a little class.
.
We shopped around for a good contractor, and had several to choose from. There are online companies that let you submit your design then drop ship you the same stuff you could buy at the big box hardware stores. You have to ask the right questions to keep from being misled by those places. In the end, the decision was between two companies that offer what sounded like the exact same product. One, a large regional company out of
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, and Artistic Closets which is a small local company. In the interest of keeping our local economy thriving, we chose to stay local.
.
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was very nice on the phone and we discussed what we wanted and she provided 3-D mock-up drawings by email based upon our drawings and dimensions. After having several companies out to measure the closet and give quotes, we thought that
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
had been out to see the closet. As it turned out, we informed them that we would use them for the project and they then requested an appointment to come see the space.
.
I dropped by the shop a couple times to see the materials and to discuss the project. I spoke to someone there about having the nice rounded edges on the fronts of the boards. Since we were taking things this far, there is no reason not to go for a small up charge and take it to the next level. I talked to one of the guys that does the work and he showed me the machines that apply the pieces and makes the rounded edges and I was impressed. I told the girl at the front to add that to my order. I got some free color samples and expected that everything was good.
.
Once measurements were taken and they had all the information, they set to work back at their shop working on building the custom drawers and the materials to fit all the racks and shelves to the closet. We had selected "furniture" that stands on the floor because the weight of all of our clothes and storage needs were in excess of what we would want to hang on the walls. In addition, we could already envision the little cubby holes under the bottom plates of the racks as secret hiding places for things I don't want thieves to find. This happened to be a feature that the other company that offered this product had already planted in our heads, but was never discussed by the
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
team. Since we have zero experience with this stuff, and two companies seemed to be offering the same product and very similar prices, it was assumed that similar features would be standard.
.
We had opted to get extra wide 30" drawers to fit the space better and optimize the usage of the space. We were not impressed with the selection of handles and knobs that Artistic Closets offers. For a custom closet company, their selection is plain and utilitarian. Thinking about the wide drawers, we couldn't imagine anything worse than a tiny 3" wide handle in the center of this huge drawer front, so we told them we would purchase our own pulls and send them the hardware or at least the specs on what we were going with. We selected a pull in brushed nickel that is about 8" wide and forwarded the specs from the web site to them so that they could drill the drawers correctly.
.
Installation day came, and they did a great job of fitting the "furniture" to the space. The closet has a wonderful built-in look that we were looking for. Upon closer inspection, we found that the hiding places were hard mounted and would be wasted space. We also realized that the rounded edges were not installed. This was a huge disappointment. For this they offered a $100 discount which is really only a 3% discount for missing the part of their work that is most visible.
.
We ended up dismounting the racks on one side from the wall and leaning them over so that we could unlock the front fasteners and use the back fasteners as hinges to recover some of the hiding spaces.
.
A few days later, we received the pulls and went to install them. It was then that we realized that the holes to mount the pulls were not drilled correctly. Several of them didn't line up between the drawer front and the box, so the screw wouldn't go through. Almost all of them had splintered when the drill bit came through on the inside of the drawer. This is simply a matter of poor workmanship. Anyone who has drilled more than a couple holes in wood can prevent this from happening if you just try.
.
We sent photos of the damage and they sent out someone to work the issue. They used a little sandpaper and put some beauty washers around the screws to try to hide the splinters. Unfortunately, some of them had splintered an inch or more out from the hole and there was no way to hide them. To his credit, while he was here, the guy installed some brackets to make the hiding spaces a bit more stable.
.
If we were paying some cut-rate bargain basement price, we could look past the problems with the drawers, but we are talking nearly $3000 for some drawers and shelves that are little more than dressed up particle board. Artistic Closets offered to remake the drawers for us and we took them up on that offer.
.
A couple weeks later, they came out and installed the new drawers which are much better. The one thing I still notice is that someone seems to be power drill happy and all of the screw heads seem to have evidence of the bit twisting out of the head and leaving sharp points. We'll get out the sandpaper and dull them before they can snag any clothing.
.
Once the new drawers were installed, Artistic Closets didn't waste any time invoicing us for the second half of the contract. A few days later, we received a reminder. They received the first payment without question or issue, it almost feels like they fear that we won't pay.
.
Artistic Closets is very punctual and very responsive. We dinged them a little on professionalism because they have some workmanship issues that they need to work through and their communication, both internally and externally seems to be lacking. Before getting to work on something this expensive that they are not prepared to correct, they should go over the entire order to ensure that they understand everything that the customer expects.
.
Overall, we are satisfied with the experience, but am disappointed that we couldn't get the rounded edges on the fronts of the boards. and we are not happy at all about losing the
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
storage space under half the closet shelving. When you spend this kind of money on a luxury product, there is a certain level of expectation that you will get exactly what you want and that every person you interact with at the company will be sure to update your account with new information.

I was shocked to see a full 100% "A" rating for anyone. So without any hesitation, I called these guys and talked to the owner,
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
about redoing our master closet. It was not an easy thing. Our master closet has very weird shapes so it really is challenging for anyone to make it look half way decent.
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was great with his communication, which is really rare with anyone. He was always very helpful and responsive to any questions or thoughts we might have had. I have to tell you that I had my reservations about this closet looking good but the final product was awesome! The design, the colors, and the placement of everything was spot on. The closet actually looks bigger then it did before, which is really strange. Great job
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
! You guys do deserve your A rating. I will look forward to using them for my garage next.

The representative who came out to measure, advise and draw up our plans seemed quite meticulous. Seemed being the key word in that sentence.
The products themselves seem okay; not sure they're worth the price we paid, but I expect they will serve their intended purpose.
HOWEVER.
We should have known there would be a problem when we got to the pricing at the appointment. My wife and I had specifically asked for two bike racks to be included in the design; the representative advised us that it was usually best not to draw them into the plans, so as to allow the installers the freedom to place them where they best fit. Having said that, he forgot to include their price in the quote; rather than having me write a new check, he told me that they would just charge us for them on the install date.
The installers arrived after the time window we had been quoted. My wife, who had taken the day off from work in order to meet this appointment, called their office to inquire about an estimated arrival time; rather than taking her number and calling her back, the office AND the driver both called my phone number (which had been used only to schedule the initial appointment). I was in a meeting, so I could not take the call; obviously, my wife was unhappy with the apparent disregard for her time.
Then, when they arrived, there were no bike racks in the order. Therefore, my wife didn't pay for them. When I called to complain about this oversight, the owner called me back; as it turns out, he had asked the representative about the bike racks (the day we placed our order) and the representative told him we had decided not to get them. LIE.
To the owner's full credit, he did try to resolve the problem his employee created, going so far as to offer us the bike racks for free. I did not accept the offer, as I don't feel it was right for him to absorb that cost in addition to receiving this less-than-stellar review of his company.
In short, be extremely careful when the representative writes up your order and make sure EVERYTHING is in writing. Also, make sure to give them every single phone number that might be used to call them, as they didn't seem to understand that my wife might have a different phone number than me.

Dealing with contractors is always a stressful experience as you expect them to disappoint you in either their reliability, not delivering what you expected, increasing price or something else.
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was absolutely exceptional in every way. Their lead builder,
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
was professional, and his helper was efficient and extremely capable. The quality was exceptional, they made very helpful suggestions whenever issues arose, which was rare, and the price was more than fair considering the scope of the job.
The final product looks fantastic and they left the work area cleaner than when they arrived.
I've already recommended them for another job and would do it again, enthusiastically.

We had the BEST experience with
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
!!! we've been in a dispute with Closet World for over a year now (they tried to upcharge us 2x during installs, agreed to cancel and then took it back, the worst customer service ever), and we finally decided to just eat our losses and finally fix our closets. We got a quote from another closet company but decided to go with
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
because of the quality, customer service and designs.
Our experience was incredibly seamless.
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
is an angel and came with functional, creative designs for our 4 closets (2 of which were challenging spaces). It has changed our lives! The material is absolutely beautiful and install was super easy. We did have one issue with a closet not being installed exactly as planned -- we called
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
and she immediately said they would fix it without any issue. Now it's perfect. We really loved their nifty program where we were able to see how the closets would actually look in a variety of
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
before installation. No one was able to offer that to us and we made tweaks here and there that made a huge difference.
We absolutely LOVE our closets and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. We're in the South Bay but it was worth driving to their showroom in
Washington Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
Beach to see their closets first hand. They were a little more expensive than the other closet companies but you absolutely get what you pay for. Lots of "extras" are absolutely standard here and the quality is unbeatable!
