Wallingford Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews
Rich and assistant
Rich is also really creative at solving problems while staying within budget. When we discovered concrete all around the fireplace, complicating the installation of a hardwood floor, he suggested covering it with marble; this marble around the fireplace looks wonderful. He also created a mantle around the fireplace, so we could get rid of the ugliest accessories in the world.
Rich is very willing to return to fix or adjust anything that still needs a bit of work. Most important, he really listens.
I certainly use
The installer was a professional, conscientious individual. He did a wonderful job enlarging the windows and working with the aluminum siding. He left everything clean and tidy at the end of the day, so there was minimal interuption to daily live. There were some misscommunications and hickups along the way, but these were resolved promptly and to my satisfaction. Overall, I was very happy with the whole experience.
Sadly, the bathroom work did not go quite as smoothly. Again, the quoting process and planning of the work went very well. The sales staff were professional, and the product and pricing fitted our budget.
There were two main problems. The first and biggest problelm was with the tiling. This work was sub-contracted to a tiling company who did a rushed, less than professional job. I stopped the work when it was about 60% complete. Wall tiles were uneven and the corner grout line ranged from a 1/8 inch at the tub line to 1/4 inch at the ceiling. Two floor tiles were cocked at a very noticable angle. At my request, the owner of the sub-contracting company came to inspect the work. His first response was, "You will never notice that when the tub and shower curtain is installed and when the toilet is installed." I took a couple of deep breaths to compose myself, and expliained that I was paying several thousand to have the work done professionally." He sent me two new installers who re-did some of the previous work and finished the tiling job. I took time off work to oversee the rest of the tiling. At the end of the day, I ended up with a tiling job that could be described at best as "not a bad tiling job" but it fell way short of a home run.
The second problem was with the tub installaion. My wife came home from work and discovered the side pannel was not the one we ordered. I brought it up with
Some other small issues came up as is typical with any remodel. These issues were dealt with promply and to my satisfaction.
I still think
The team was punctual, fairly clean, and worked efficiently. There were a few snags in the project which I think they handled well, though they did seem to be under the gun as far as their schedule. I was fairly happy with the quality of the finished job, and they worked professionally."
