"DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO. First of all, the lady seems wonderful - until you realize that she's extremely underhanded and manipulative. She made me" buy a lock that's listed on the website at $12.99, but is sold at her store for $17.99 - which, by the way, you don't need because you can bring your own. She also made me buy a mattress cover that is sold at her store for $7.99, but is listed on the site for $3.99. I didn't need this cover and told her 3 times I didn't want it, but she kept insisting that I needed it, and charged me for it anyway. In terms of the lock - she gave it to me once all the papers were signed - and refused to give me an itemized charge list before I swiped my card. When we went to the actual unit, she gave me this lock that I didn't even know I had purchased, and made it seem as if it was a requirement - not an option. As for the insurance that she also tells you is mandatory - PLEASE do yourself a favor and check with your renters insurance or homeowners insurance policy to see if it's covered. That's another minimum of $11/month that you don't need to spend. Finally, she insisted that I needed to pay for an extra month up front - even the though the
website clearly states that you don't have to. It's the best price that I've found, but I would happily pay more for greater honesty and less underhanded manipulation. If you're going to use this place, make sure you do your research, and have the
website on hand (on your cell phone) to use when she starts gauging prices and trying to force you into paying for things you don't need. Needless to say, I will not be using this place again.

"Both their office and the movers were friendly, helpful and efficient. The final cost was actually slightly less than their estimate. I plan to use them again when I buy a new house.

Storage Units

Renting a storage unit may seem like a confusing process, but we’ve outlined the steps you should take in order to find the perfect fit. From determining the type of self-storage you need, to how much you can expect to pay, the Angie’s List Guide to Storage Units covers all the right stuff (in a climate controlled area, of course).

Hello, this is Kyle K from the Member Care Department.

Although Angie's List doesn't provide info on average or "going rates" for various projects, when members and consumers submit reviews, they have the option to include that cost of the project.

With that in mind, one way to find out a very general price range on a project is to log on to www.AngiesList.com (http://www.angieslist.com/?CID=ANS) and search for "Moving" (or any other appropriate category for your project, such as remodeling - K&B or ceramic tile), and then look at the project cost info supplied by local members and consumers.

Of course, probably the best way to get the most accurate cost information is to request multiple bids from several contractors. As the price will vary with work site considerations and individual contractors' approaches, getting multiple estimates will help provide a clearer picture of what your project will cost.

I hope this information helps!

If you would like to see more Angie's List search results for your area in this forum, please let me know by responding in line with this Q&A by submitting a new answer. Here are the FAQ's on San Jose rent control - and only apartments and mobilehomes being rented are covered, not storage units.

http://www.sanjoseca.gov/FAQ.aspx?QID=521

More and more people are using storage units, so costs have gone up frequently and signfiicantly in the past few years.

Pretty much you are at the mercy of the market - if the market will support it, they can raise their prices - and the cleaner, newer, and higher security ones can do that easier (but also presumably protect your stuff better). Your only recourse, for lower cost, is to go with an older, shabbier looking or non-climate controlled place, build storage at your place, dedicate more of your personal space to storage, or get rid of stuff.

We got a container from overseas with building material delivered to our construction site and planned on hauling some of the stuff to a local self-storage facility we've rented before. We realized that hauling it back and forth when we'll need it will cost us lots of money for renting fees and delivering fees for a forklift and a truck to haul it. On top we wouldn't have a safe place on the construction site to store the equipment that we need to work with every day. So we had this brilliant idea to get a storage container, but since the clock for the forklift was already running, we needed to get it NOW. So I've googled and called 4 different suppliers.
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
was the 4th one I've called and the professional customer service guy (

) helped me immediately -no waiting to be called back, immediate delivery was possible with quite some choices of containers. We chose a 40ft High Container with one door, but lots of space. They also have containers with a front and back door which makes access easy from both sides. Delivery came in time as promised and the driver (

) was handling it smoothly and professionally as well. Compared to other suppliers I feel that the price is fair for renting, drop off and pick up fees. Companies offering an honest, reliable and quick service like this one gives me hope in this otherwise poor business world which I've experienced so often in the past. My husband was also very pleased with their service and we both will recommend

to all our local friends and contractors in the Valley. They really handled our situation to our satisfaction, it couldn't have been better.

The Gulfport personnel were polite and responsive prior to the move. They accommodated changes in schedule. They arrived on time to pack and load my goods…I packed most breakables before they arrived. They assured me that they knew how to pack so they packed the remainder of the fragile items.
They arrived on time in CA. The driver called several times to coordinate his arrival to my arrival. When they arrived I noticed there was only one driver, not the two I expected. Additionally there were three men hired on the CA end to unpack.
I checked the men putting the boxes in the house and noticed they were stacking boxes literally to the ceiling. I asked them not to do that as I was the person unpacking and I had to be able to handle the boxes. I was assured that only light boxes were on top. I tipped everyone and thanked them for their work. The next day I began to unpack boxes. I found that the boxes on top of the stacks were the heaviest…very heavy wardrobes on top, X-Large heavy boxes on top. On three occasions, so far, the whole stack of boxes has fallen on me. On other occasions the top boxes were so heavy that the bottom boxes were crushed. Several items were crushed…items I cherished, that were fragile and were packed poorly by

employees.
I have called
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
three times and they have said to complete insurance forms, and that they would talk to the driver. I have called Allied and they said I needed to call

I believe the problem is with the hiring at the CA end of the trip, and there not being a second driver to coordinate the men unloading the truck.

I had lots of flexibility in the timing of my move. I had plenty of money set aside for this move.
Searched Angies list for a mover with the best reviews. All 7
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
reviews were A's (100%). I thought I found the perfect mover.
Called and made arrangements for
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
to come at 5:30 on a Wednesday, look at my stuff to be moved, and to give me an estimate and schedule a date. Being somewhat flexible, I actually set aside 5-7 to flexibly accomodate their needs.
After making arrangments to be there at the time THEY specified, they called me and asked me to move the quote visit back a day. I indicated that I made arrangements to be here for their schedule, could they just come later than schedule.
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
asked me again to push back to Thursday without answering my request for them to come later than scheduled, but on the same day? He asked about Thursday again. Finally, I asked him where is was. After he told me where he was, it was obvious that he would have to drive by my house (within 1/2 mile) to get from where he was back to
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
. After explaining this, he agreed to come look.
Knowing he really didn't want to do the quote that night and that he wanted to be home, as soon as he showed up, I was out the front door in the teens weather to
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
him and show him what needed to be moved. I was very succinct as 80% was already packed. Visit was less than 10 minutes.
At the end, he indicated that I would hear in two days. I expected that was by the end of the day on the 16th. It is now the 21st and I still haven't hear anything back.
As the sharks on
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
Tank say...."I'm out." I'm sorry to be the one to ruin the perfect A record, I overlooked a number of larger movers with good ratings thinking I had the diamond in the rough. I'll never find out how good they are at actually moving stuff.

ck present for 30 days it is assumed abandoned and will be re-rented. I went by the unit today, while the place was open and the gates were unlocked, and it appears the unit has been re-rented. Would not deal with this man again. Never..

It simply doesn't get any better than this! Super-clean units in a great location. Easy access and well-lit at night. We rented a 10 x 10 unit for storage during a move. I had called a few other locations in the area, and Midway had the best rates. They also have superior customer service. It was a great experience, and we would certainly use them again.

I had my RV stored at their lot from Sept 2013 until May of 2014. I gave my credit card info so they could automatically bill me monthly for the storage ($75/month). On approximately May 8, 2014 I removed my RV from their lot, called them and told them I was vacating the space and to please stop billing me on my credit card. June came and they billed my credit card for $75. I called them and notified them AGAIN that I had vacated the space in May 2014 and was no longer subject to their billing. They said they would clear it up and refund my charge.
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
came and they billed my credit card for another $75. I called them again and one again they apologized and said they would take care of it and refund my $150. My August statement came and no credit from the merchant, so I called them again. They said they would take care of it. My September statement came and still no credit, so I called them once again and got the same answer. October statement - no credit. November statement - no credit. Each month I called and they said they would correct. I talked to someone named
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
a number of times in December in an attempt to get my money refunded. Each time he said the owner was going to get back to me. I wrote them an email on December 20 stating simply that I wanted a refund otherwise I would publish a review on websites like Angies List. I received the following email response on December 23, 2014: I am sorry to hear about the troubles you have encountered. I have been away on some personal business and
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
was just able to inform me of the situation. I do apologize for the delay, I will check everything on Monday and will get you any money owed to you immediately. I will call you Monday to settle this all together. Thank you for your patience in the matter.

Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked

The manager has NEVER called me like he promised, I still have not received a $150 refund or credit on my Visa account, and Visa advised me that it is too far past the billing date for them to contest the charge.
My recommendation - DO NOT EVER give them a credit card for an automatic payment! This is beyond negligent, in my opinion they are intentionally overcharging their customers.

managers were super friendly and easy to deal with. It was a
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
matter to schedule a delivery date for them to drop off the shell at the end of our drive. At that point we had 48-72 hours to load all the belongings from the downstairs into the shell at which point
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
folks came and whisked shell off to their storage warehouse. The limited amount of time you have to load and unload is the only somewhat stressful aspect of renting a zippyshell as you are working under a time constraint and have to load and unload even if weather is bad (although in the event of some sort of unusual or exceptionally severe weather I have no doubt the
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
folks would work with you). When remodel was over we simply called up
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
and scheduled the return of our furniture filled shell at which point we had two or three days to unload it, then they came over and picked up the empty shell. It all went like clockwork!

The whole procedure went flawlessly and we were extremely happy with the service we received from the
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
folks, and for the way the whole procedure worked. At first we were going to rent a storage pod which would be sitting outside our house for the entire duration of the remodel. But none of the “pod people” seemed willing to work with us as our driveway is a bit on the tight side. The advantage of the pod would have been that we could access at least some of our stuff during the remodel, and, more importantly, add additional stuff during the course of the remodel (there are always some odds and ends that you forget to store the first time). But the advantages of the
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
are that once it’s whisked away then all that parking space is available for construction folks (a big factor in our driveway which is pretty tight). Plus it was an extremely wet summer, with downpours several times a week, and it is hard to believe that furniture sitting in our driveway in a totally enclosed pod would not have suffered at least a bit in that kind of weather, if not from some sort of leak, at least from insanely high humidity levels and sitting in a tight container in the baking sun for months. So it was nice to know that our stuff was safe and sound in a climate controlled and very well ventilated
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
warehouse. When the shell containing our furniture came back, it was all in excellent shape and had not shifted in the pod an inch as far as I can tell. The
Voluntown Storage Facilities Provider Name Locked
manager who made four trips up and down our driveway delivering and picking up full and empty shells could not have been more careful about moving the sizeable rig up and down the drive, and not a single branch on any of the ornamental flowers and bushes I have lining the driveway was touched.
