I had a terrible experience with this provider. I was very surprised given the very positive reviews on Angies List.
Our job was very
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
. All they had to do was reinstall carpet that we had removed due to some flooding. The carpet was already there, they just needed to put padding down and put the carpet back in place. The rooms were 15' x 15', not very big.
To start out with, their customer service when trying to schedule a visit was terrible. It was like they didn't want the business. I had to call back several times, but I persisted because I had read good reviews here.
Finally they scheduled a date to come - two weeks out, which is fine because I guess they are busy. When they came for the first visit, they didn't have all the materials they needed. So they had to postpone the work by another two weeks.
Then they came two weeks later and still weren't able to finish the job, and had to schedule one more visit.
The workers were not very professional, made a mess everywhere. A different contractor (which I had found on Angies List as well) who did much more complicated work to replace drywall and paint the walls, left the place immaculate after their work. I have written a separate review about them. This job is relatively dust-free because they just needed to install carpet, but they found a way to track dirt every where and leave stains on the walls.
In every visit, they called the morning of the visit date to advise when they would arrive that day (we had no choice), and they never ended up coming when they said they would.
And the worst part - the cost of the work came in almost 15% higher than the initial estimate, and they charged us for having to make two visits to do the work!
Again, the job was not very complicated and I imagine that anyone who installs carpet for a living would have been able to do this fairly quickly and without fuss.

The good things: Their showroom is very nice.
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
works in the showroom, and he came to measure my rooms on the same day that I called. He is knowledgable. Later the same day, I met him at the showroom to choose the vinyl. He cut some transition strips that I needed so that they would fit in my car. That was nice. He was able to fit in an installation appointment just four days later. That was nice that he fit me into their schedule. The installers arrived as promised.
The bad things: The installers had no idea which vinyl pattern to install. They had several rolls in their truck, but they didn't know which one was mine. ( I was not there at the time. My son-in-law was there instead.) The installers called
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
to find out which vinyl to install, but he didn't know either! Then the installers called me, but my paperwork did not specify the name of the color or pattern on it either. The installer said that even if I knew what they name of the vinyl pattern was, it wouldn't help because none of their rolls in the truck were labeled in anyway, so they didn't know what each one was called. In the end, my son-in-law had to give them a key to another apartment so the installers could visually see what pattern was installed in the other apartment, so they could match it to this one. When I called
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
to tell him I was surprised and disappointed they were so disorganized, he was not apologetic, and told me it didn't matter because in the end it all turned out ok. With that kind of response I decided that I would not use them again. Even though the installers eventually figured out what to install, it was unprofessional of them to have such an unapologetic

. When a customer is unhappy with a service, it is much better for the company rep to say something like, "I know, we're really sorry for this mix-up". Then it's no big deal. But when the company rep does not apologize and then tells you it doesn't really matter because in the end they figured it out, it's irritating. They seem like good guys, but the inability to say "oops, sorry", just cost them a customer.

was very friendly over the phone and was able to schedule my repair within the same day. He showed up right on time and immediately inspected the rooms to provide an estimate. After considering the cost of replacing the carpet, I was glad to agree to the very reasonable charges. He proceeded to bring in his tools and professional stretching bar (versus a basic "knee kicker"). He was very careful with the base boards and walls as the carpets were pulled up and stretched. With every job there is always a surprise, and
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
encountered two rooms where the original installer did not properly seal the seam and the carpet split about 16". While I began to panic,
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
remained calm and explained why this occurred and that it was easily resolved. Instead of cutting corners, he further split the carpet to fix the remainder of seam using a heat iron to avoid future issues. He tucked the carpet back under the base boards and ensured I was satisfied before wrapping up. He promptly cleaned up his tools and nearly half a garbage bag of carpet trimmings (prior installer didn't stretch nearly enough). I would give
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
a 9.8 out of 10, with the 0.2 deduction only for not vacuuming up the small pieces of carpet the naturally arise during trimming. One could argue that the homeowner would likely vacuum the entire room after anyway, so pointless, but regardless I hope this review shows that

We worked with
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
a year prior to install new carpets in the upstairs of our home and had an excellent experience. We had a flood in our basement earlier this year, which necessitated having the carpets replaced. We initially were going to work with the contractors who were doing the rest of the repair but after visiting their suggested showroom, we decided to go back to
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
, for quite a bit less than the contractors were estimating. As usual,
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
asked a bunch of questions about the intended use, volume of traffic, family conditions, etc. and then recommended only a couple of selections, which made choosing the right carpet so much less intimidating. As was our previous experience, he was professional, his work was impeccable and the quality unsurpassed. His pricing was very competitive. He explains everything thoroughly, takes a lot of time to ensure he eliminates as much waste as possible, and the outcome was just what we expected of him. I so very highly recommend him.

We went to
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
on the recommendation of our next-door-neighbor who had used them and found them to have very good prices in comparison with other stores closer to where we lived. When we went it,
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
was very helpful and quickly pointed out carpets that went well with the pillow covers that we had brought in. I noticed that he did not point us to the most expensive products there, but to a mid-quality, which was what we wanted. He also checked and found that at least one item was on sale. One carpet came in in a timely way, but apparently their supplier had just run out of the other one, so it took longer, but that wasn't
Stafford Springs Carpet Installers Provider Name Locked
's fault. It all worked out fine and was a very pleasant experience overall.

Very nice and polite salesman. However, company sales tactics were a bit too "pressured". (Especially when ordering $10,000+ in carpeting) We were pressured to make a commitment right then and there. Gave a $20.00 deposit, (instead of the standard $100/$200 deposit) We were given 72 hours to cancel our order. We decided to go with another carpet supplier, within the 72 hours. Empire did refund our initial $20.00, deposit. No problems there. Again, sales tactics were a bit pressured. Pricing "appeared" to be: too good to be true. Definitely low and competitive. But, this made us question the "quality" of the carpet and the accuracy of the pricing / salesman's ability to "cut" the price so drastically.

I received a response promptly when I called them, and they were able to complete the repairs the next day, between other jobs they had scheduled. They arrived when they said they would, introduced themselves, and took care of the job in approximately 20 minutes. The carpet looks brand new and you can't tell where it was repaired. They were very courteous and great to work with.

even trimmed a seam from the previous installation even though they had not installed the carpet originally. We will definitely use

's Carpet when we are ready to have the carpet stretched at another property we own. I would highly recommend them!

Cliff showed up on time and he had samples of exactly what I was looking for - pet proof carpeting! I narrowed down my color choices to one I thought would match the coming new paint job and made my deal with Cliff. My dogs seemed to approve of my choice, they both laid down on the sample!
The installers were on time. They even helped me move the three pieces of furniture out of the Living room that I needed help with. They then got right to work pulling up the old , nasty carpet and horsehair padding! (Eeww) As soon as they were finished installing the new padding, Cliff showed up with the carpet and they got it installed. The installers then helped me move the furniture back in. The furniture glided over the new carpet, no bunching, which showed the carpet was stretched properly! The new carpet is gorgeous, even my cats approved of it by bringing their toys in on it.

They can out to my house to look at my basement that had 8 inches of water (and already drained). They quoted me $3,500 to cut and remove the bottom of the drywall and to clean and sanitize. The final bill was $6,394. When I called to inquire about the excessive charges they told me that they "took it easy on me" and that they could have charged me even more. It took them about 25 man hours, which works out to be about $255 per hour. I thought the initial quote of $3,500 was excessive, but agreed to it. There wasn't any real explanation of why the final invoice was almost $3,000 more, other than the admitting to the fact that they charged as must as legally possible to get the most insurance money.
