About the designer With over 40 years of landscape design and build experience, Ralph Malanca brings determination, dedication and distinction to his clients and properties. The values instilled in Ralph enabled him to develop a deep appreciation for nature and the knowledge of how to grow, beautify and enhance any environment. At the age of 18, Ralph joined the family business where he learned the skills and technical trades necessary to design and build. Ralph realized his passion for property beautification and the need for artistry in the landscape industry. He then joined The Glen Gate Company where for 15 years he began to integrate his design build technique and business skills to one of Connecticut’s premier landscape companies. Innovative Artistry Ralph collaborated with boutique firms specializing in high-end clientele where his innovative ways and his artistry and design brought him to the forefront of the industry. He pioneered the preservation of nature in almost every property design. He used current landscapes, such as rock-ledge to create brooks, streams while protecting wetlands and the environment while blending the beauty of mother nature and the artistry of landscape. He has also created one-of-a kind artwork using sustainable materials, and implementing green technology by installing eco-friendly irrigation systems, low-voltage lighting systems and minimizing the use of water and electricity. Ralph’s artistry collaboration and cutting edge designs brought him to create Artistic Design & Innovations.
