The day of the estimate he spent over an hour there giving me ideas that would help me to accomplish what was needed to get the job done within my very limited financial limits. He gave me locations of businesses that I could acquire the materials at discounted rates and in the end when I was not able to get what was needed he went out and purchased them for me at no extra cost for his time. He also took the time to look at another problem, unrelated to the work I needed done, and suggested an inexpensive fix for what he thought the problem was. Once again when I was unable to perform the work (I did get the materials needed) he took the time and initiative to do it for me when he was here doing the work I had actually hired him for and he did not charge me for that time either!
The day he did the work, he was prompt, he brought 3 other workers with him, did all the work and cleaned up the entire work area very well before he left.

Work did not begin on tear off of siding for several days, then the crew lead said there was more to the job than anticipated and would take longer. I explained the urgency of the family visit and need to whole job to be complete ASAP when I was informed there was nothing that could be done to speed the job completion. The communication leading up to this point was dismal however
Another surprise was that the trim pieces did not come in color plus for color chosen so there would need to be painting done to all trim work and gutters and touch-up to other areas of siding after installation. This was not adequately explained during sales process. First set of painters called and met with me briefly, said they would be starting before the roofers started. Then silence. Turns out painters were diverted to another job and I was not told. Second painters called out of the blue and said they were going to start that day with no warning. Discussions with first set of painters did not transfer over to second (again all subcontractors so they don't talk to each other). Second set made completely different recommendations than first and clearly were not as knowledgeable as first. Second set of painters were delayed until after the roofing completed and rainy season had set in. I had concerns the paint would not set properly with cool temperatures and rain.
On roofing, same as last time, foreman called all of sudden and said would be starting the next day.on the roof. Same issue, delays due to unanticipated complexity on roof line. The crew lead (
Overall, timing and communication from company and its subcontractors was not good during the actual siding/painting/roofing process. However, the company was responsive in assuring damages were taken care of and having professionals inspect gutters when the gutters started acting unusual after the siding/roofing replacement. The company was also agreeable when I withheld money until the work they performed passed inspection for sale of house as I was concerned with some of the work. They were responsive in fixing issues when the siding work did not pass inspection. Finally the second owner (
Unfortunately the delays and issues were the primary delays in selling the house by over 6 months. I was unable to keep on top of the company due to an extreme work and business travel schedule so it could have been better on my part as well. From start to finish it was one year. My understanding is the company is now better staffed and has put measures in place to deal with some of the issue that were experienced on my job which was very much needed. However, I still have enough concerns that I would not use them again nor have recommended them.
We are excited to move forward with the project and can definitely see the value in it.
