"Overall the process of getting a new water heater went smoothly. We had them come and inspect our old water heater because we noticed a very small leak. Upon inspection" the technician identified that our water heater was very corroded and that he wouldn't be able to replace it. The one extremely nice thing is that they didn't charge us a service call fee because they weren't able to perform any work. Because they didn't charge a service call fee and because of their high reviews I chose to go with Bill's to get a new water heater. I had them install a Rheem water heater and am happy with it so far. They showed up on time, removed our old water heater, and installed the new one. They automatically scheduled the city to come and inspect the natural gas lines and they passed. Overall it was a pretty painless process. The cost of the heater itself was competitive with the all the other places I checked. The cost of labor was approximately $450. They gave a 10% Angie's list discount on the labor so we saved $45. The only issue we had is they forgot to apply the discount originally so they charged us full price. When I called an explained the mistake they sent us a check in the make for the discount.

"After a well known, local company replaced my drain field several years ago, I continued to have the same trouble from the start. Several attempts were made to" fix the problem, but it was never corrected. Just a lot of aggravation and run around. Finally, I called
Surgeons based on reviews on their website. They were prompt to respond, immediately found the problem, and corrected the it quickly, which involved replacing a water logged drain field.
field the previous company put in was half the size it should have been. While they were on site, I went ahead and had
lines under the house replaced. Were they the cheapest? don't know. Did they fix a problem I have been dealing with for years? YES, in a very efficient, professional, and friendly two days. Just remember, lowest price does not mean Best Value.
Surgeons are definitely the Best Value for your money, that is if you want it done right the first time.

How to Avoid Common Plumbing Scams

Here are four of the most common plumbing scams to watch out for and how to avoid them.

Hiring a Plumber

When you need a plumber, especially for an expensive project for which you have time to plan, make sure you hire one who is fully qualified and licensed in your state. A plumber may be an apprentice, a journeyman or a highly qualified master plumber, depending on the level of training and experience.

Take off the lid to the tank and check inside.  There should be a small hose going into a larger pipe near the middle of the tank right next to the flapper.  When you flush the toilet water squirts from that hose into the pipe.  If it isn't in place put it back so that water goes down that pipe once again.  This is what refills your bowl.  If water does not come out of the little hose check to see if it is kinked or blocked.  You can take it off and blow air through it.  Don't worry, it's only clean water that goes through the hose.  If it is clear and water does not come out of the short pipe where it attaches on the flush valve then there is a clog in that valve and it will probably need to be replaced.  These are $10-20 at any home improvement store and even Wal-Mart.  The instructions are simple and you can do it yourself in about 15 minutes.  Check the washer on the supply hose to the toilet while it is off to replace the flush valve.  If it is old or worn replace the hose as well.  It is cheap insurance of only a few dollars which is a lot cheaper than a failed hose or washer causing water to leak.

If you don't feel comfortable replacing the fill valve, if it is needed, a handyman can do it fairly cheap.  Whereas a plumber or other contractor will have a minimum charge of $100-200 a handyman might do it for about $50.

From the sounds of it, you have a clog between the floor drain and the connection to the city sewer (unless you have a septic tank).  The lower flow rates of sinks / showers / dishwashers probable don't cause a backup like the washing machine does.  A couple of suggestions.

1.  Snake the drain line with a spade tip snake, twisting the snake as you advance it.  This should clear the partial blockage.

 2.  If feasable, have your washing machine discharge into a utility sink and put a strainer on the drain to catch the clothing fibre (fibres and grease from the sink probably made the clog in the first place not to mention a garbage disposal).

3.  Replace your floor drain with one that has a backflow preventer (looks like there is a ping pong ball in it).

 Good Luck

It is not uncommon for a plumber to have to go get the parts necessary to repair and complete the job.  It is very hard to determine what the problem is over the phone and it is not until the repair process begins that the parts needed to resolve the problem is discovered.  It may also depend on if the plumber is using hourly rates or per job rates.  I would hope the time to get the parts would be minimal and the charge would be as well!

Well , you've certainly started a debate that will endure forever , but personally , having worked with both products , PEX is a better product . Now granted , the 1st time i used it

I was not impressed , cause it leaked.......NOT because the product was at fault, it was because I did not understand how to use the product !

The trick to using Pex , is to make certain that the fittings seat, they MUST be pushed together with force, and if you do not push with force to get the seat to seal, it leaks .

Therefore , when using PEX , you have constantly to be aware of leaving room to make your connections -Properly !

The beauty of PEX is that it bends , it is flexible and decreases the labor factor ,although the connection costs are often 100-300 % higher than copper , but again , it can cut labor costs in half  and it is safer to work with,  NO FLAMEs!

They couldn't make the first appointment but showed up first thing in the morning the next day.
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
showed up and gave me a quick estimate; should take no more than an hour and half. He came back later that same day to start working. I took off on my road bike and left him to work. I got back in just under an hour expecting to see him still going strong. He was done installing and started cleaning out the system. 3 buckets of water later and he was done. Took an hour for the whole thing. Professional installation, great guy, finished the job faster than his estimate. Would defiantly use them again.

I called
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
on a Friday morning after my neighbor discovered water leaking onto his driveway from my yard. After some research I was pretty sure that I had a water main leak. I was leaving for vacation the next day so I wanted to have someone out to at least investigate the problem. After calling two other plumbers that could not fit me in for 5 days (and that was the fastest response), I spoke with
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
and they fit me in the same day.
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
arrived on time and quickly assessed the situation and confirmed that I did indeed have a leak in my water main.
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
went over options and pricing and we set up time to have the work completed while I was away on vacation. Throughout the whole process,
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
was a true professional and kept me informed with everything he was doing. After he found the leak, he found that the pipe the builder used was actually defective so it had to be replaced. He even sent me pictures so I could see for myself.
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
set up the landscape crew to dig the trench for the new line (they even had to go under a walkway and my driveway).
Danbury Plumbers Provider Name Locked
called me on the day he was doing the work to gain access to the basement (through the garage) and to walk me through the entire process. He then called me once the work was complete to go over the scope of the job again. The work was done entirely while I was gone and when I arrived home I found that everything was working great and all the mess of the yard had been cleaned up. The only evidence that remained was the trench that had to be dug in my front yard. The bush that he had to dig up had even been replanted and the mulch was replaced over the affected areas.
I would highly recommend

and particularly

hammer the floor up. Digging out a bad main line and replacing it. He is courteous and very professional and has a good heart to help homeowners out anyway he can. Whether it's by advice, giving tips to help you out for any DIY or referrals. I currently have another problem i am hiring him for again. It's a shame though that once my house is put back on the

The services described above were quick, and the plumber spent time educating me on its care. He also took the time to talk to me about caring for the pipes that were connected to the disposal, as well. Fantastic and professional service added to a great deal made for a great customer service experience. It's also worth noting that the plumber was punctual, courteous, professional, and fast. I would HIGHLY recommend this company based on this specific experience. I look very much forward to seeing if they can repeat this performance.

It all went very smoothly and efficiently. Obvious to me that this is a fair and honest company out to provide quality service at a reasonable price. My plumber,
