"The provider was supposed to come at 1:00 today. It is 2:45 and they have not come. I called and texted and just received a text back stating that he was running" late and could come tomorrow. I had to take the day off of work to be here. This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

"I was told they would be coming on the 25th 2 weeks ago and when i asked what time, i was told i would recieve a call. I didnt get a call until
" was at the gatehouse of our neighborhood and no one was home. He refused to wait the 20 min for me to get there to let him in and after asking him to stay again, he went silent. I shared it was very unprofessional and he Hung up on me and wouldnt pick up my return calls. When i called his office, the response was i could/should have called them to get a time. Might be great, might be horrible but one of the worst service experiences i have ever had. I hope Hydro systems finds another vendor as they shouldnt let him represent their company but its there decision.

Bathtub refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

They got in touch with me within about a day of my original order to advise me that they were not available on the days I chose but gave me alternate days to choose from. When I emailed them back to ask them about the times available on those days, they took four days to email me back and tell me that all of those days had now been taken. I emailed them back immediately to find out when they were available, and then another 4-5 days went by before they responded and said they had days in September available. I emailed them back YET AGAIN and asked them to PLEASE tell me exactly what dates and times they had available within a specified window so that I could just pick one of those and they could finally schedule me. AGAIN they waited another 4 days or so to email me back to ask for my phone number, and they said they would contact me immediately by phone to schedule the appointment. I provided them with my phone number immediately. That was WEEKS ago, and I have not heard from them at all since. Their complete lack of responsiveness has been extremely frustrating - especially considering that I already paid for a bathtub restoration. I want my money back!

The service was excellent, prompt, and efficient. I meant to place this review a while ago; I forgot the price. However, the price was fair.

Tried to make an appointment for a quote with
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
At
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
in March, and was given a quote on having refinishing completed on existing shower stall after describing our situation. I explained that the shower stall was a one piece stall including floor, without any damage or existing repairs and that the fiberglass surface was just rough and we wanted to bring back the "new" look to the shower.
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
explained that the quote could change after technician inspected the shower stall on day that work was to be started. Technician inspected the shower stall on the day we scheduled to start the job, and said that a lot of repair had to be done to the microscopic chips in the porcelain and that he could not complete job in a couple days, that it would take several days and the quote would have to be recalculated. He took photos with his phone and sent to office and company called technician back with new quote after reviewing photos. Technician said that it would cost another $250.00 to do refinishing and repairs. We advised the technician that we did not like to be "upsold" by 50%, and his response was, "well, the company wanted to charge another $300.00, but I talked them down to $250.00". We made the decision that
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
and Fiberglass Repair was not the company for us. When I spoke with
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
on the phone initially, I asked for an appointment for someone to come out and examine shower stall before scheduling the actual job, and was told that they do not do pre-estimates. I believe this would have solved the problem if handled prior. We went with another company who was able to do the job without any type of "repairs" to the microscopic chips.

Our master bathroom had a one entire piece fiberglass shower stall that was not well maintained when we purchased house. After shopping for a replacement and finding that the only ones made today were in 3 pieces per wall plus separate floor, we decided to look at refinishing. Our shower stall did not have any pre-existing repairs or damage, just overly scrubbed and surface was very rough. After speaking with
Danbury Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
and Porcelain, we were positive the refinishing process was exactly what we were looking for. We made an appointment for the refinishing, and were amazed at how quickly the process was, how clean, efficient and professional the work was when completed. The cost was very reasonable. They worked between our scheduling of tile company and shower door company schedules. We would highly recommend this type of refinishing process to anyone looking to restore and bring back the "new" condition of shower or tub. We are very pleased with our new shower's appearance and how easy it is to keep clean.

The installer alerted me to the fact that there was a chip on the exterior surface of the tub before he proceeded with the install. He called the company and we settled on a $300 discount for the damage. The rest of the install went fine and the result looked fine. A few weeks later ( I had been out of town) I noticed what looked like scratches on an inside corner of the tub. I called the company and the installer returned to look at it. I couldn't tell whether the flaws were just bits of glue or actual scratches - damage to the surface of the acrylic. The installer buffed out what he could and left me with a bottle of the buffing solution. I noticed later however that the scratches were still there. I called the company back and left a message that I was not happy with what now looked like a scratched and chipped product that I paid full price for. There is a warrantee on the tub so I'm concerned that if a stain develops in the future on either the chipped or the scratched areas, I will not be protected. Bath Fitters did not return my call.
