"The work was performed on schedule with both
and his crew being very respectful of our special requirements. We needed a very strong cement for our front sidewalk due to cars and trucks riding up on the sidewalk while making U ...more turns.
ordered a fiber mesh cement mix for added strength and made the cement pour several inches thicker to avoid cracking under the weight of a vehicle. The workers arrived on time each day and did a nice job of cleaning up the debris after each days work. We are very delighted with the results thus far. "

Sample Concrete Repair Contractors Reviews
"The cracks between the blocks were filled, the cap re-sculpted and all deteriorated areas were patched, filled and otherwise repaired. The material is a type of concrete and not stucco. We did not have them try to match the stucco/color of the house because the height of the walls is so low and we are having the house painted, anyway.
"Although they were delayed quite a while, due to bad weather, and loss of employees, the wait was well worth it. Bill Bencker and his crew did an outstanding job. They installed 280 sq. ft. of freshly poured concrete. They then stamped it and applied the colors of our choice, and applied hardeners and sealers for protection. They also did a stamped ...more overlay on our existing 100 sq ft patio, which gave us a large 20 ft x 19 ft patio that looks like one solid slab. The workmanship, and care with which they performed was exemplary. They were professional in every aspect and I would not hesitate to use DCS again. "
"After the brutal winter of 2013 the gangway and backyard patio concrete was falling apart and was getting dangerous to walk on.
After searching Angies's list , I contacted 4 companies to to schedule an appointment for an estimate.
Of the 4,one never returned my call and another scheduled but never showed up after rescheduling 3 times.
...more showed up on time for the estimate on Thursday and I informed him I still had 2 other appointments for estimates and would contact
him by Saturday.
was who ended up doing the Job and I am super pleased with him work!
He was very thorough and professional . He listen to what I wanted and explained to me all the details such as type of material he would be using and time frame to complete the project.
I must say , to my great surprise everything went as discussed.
The job was completed to my satisfaction, I was so pleased I recommended him to fix my mom's front stoop.
I plan to recommend him often as I'm sure everyone who sees my backyard will be asking who did the beautiful job. "
, he never showed up.
The second time we made arrangements to meet, he called 45 minutes late and asked if he could come in a couple of hours. We said yes. He showed up an additional 45 minutes late for that appointment as well.
When he finally got here, he spoke only ...more to my husband. That was a mistake.
He was not, and never will be employed by this household. "
"When I arrived home I found that only one of the two support beams had been replaced, there was still about 1-2 feet of rough cut concrete around the garage, concrete rubble was still lying everywhere (it looked like a war zone) and the door to my garage was left wide open.
They had already invoiced me, so I called to say there must have been ...more some mistake and that work wasn't complete. Pictures I sent quickly confirmed this. They said they would get out to get the work done and apologized for leaving the door open (literally gaping open, not just unlocked). They confessed they weren't locking the door at night with the key I left them. This was of course concerning for a variety of reasons.
I spent a week going back and forth with the company - meeting them at the house 3 additional times - until they finally finished the project to acceptable standards.
I will add that they were also very difficult to get ahold of after I had accepted their bid. They were, however, responsive once I told them I was extremely dissatisfied with their work and would not be paying them until it was completed as described.
They assured me my experience was not reflective of their usual work and customer experience. "
"After reading favorable reviews on Angie's List., I emailed the company to request a bid. After I did not get a response, I called and left a message. Later the same day, I had a call back from "TV" and discussed what my needs were. He said he would come out on Friday, 7/11, between 7 and 7:30 to give me a quote. At 8 pm, I received ...more a text message from TV stating he was going home from his current work site because he wasn't feeling well and had a headache from the heat and he would contact me to reschedule. I texted back and said I hoped he felt better soon.
After 5 days, I had not heard from him so I texted him and asked again about getting a bid. We agreed to meet today at 6:30. About 5:30 today, I received another text stating he on his way out of town for a 'family emergency'. Hmmmmmmm.....
Unfortunately, my experience with
has been very disappointing and not what I expected.
I have had great service from other Angie's List providers and had submitted glowing reviews. I much prefer to write letters of praise. However, I think it's important to share my experience so that other Angie's List members can avoid the same frustrations. "
"Did what he wanted, not what I asked. The slab for shed was supposed to be 2" in ground & 2" above ground, all 4" were above ground. I wanted the sidewalk with a curve from the patio to the driveway, he tried & tried to make it straight. He was supposed to make the sidewalk & driveway join together where they meet all the ...more way to the street, he made the sidewalk stop about 3 feet short of the street. This left a triangle area of grass between the street & sidewalk. He was also to make the cement so the water from rain & snow would go away from the garage door but every time there is a hard rain it goes into the garage. He left wood steaks from the framing in the ground. Left hunks of cement on the edges of sidewalk when the frames were removed. There was cement in the grass all over the yard that was left either spilled or excess from the tools used. He disposed of the dirt & did not have enough to fill back after frames were removed. And was asked not to fill in with the rock that was underground but since he got rid of the dirt he used the rock anyway so I had to remove it. I had asked him to return & resolve the issues I had but he refused to do so. In the end I had to purchase bags of top soil to fill in the areas he left without any dirt. The job overall looks pretty good except the triangle by the driveway. But his cleanup was very poor leaving me with more money to spend and much more work to do cleaning up after him. He seemed like a nice guy, just needed to pay a little more attention to details and what the customer wanted. "
soil were a combination of cement-like clay soil and natural rebar. The roots are nearly as strong as rebar, so
had to dig a good 8 hours to get it all out. The smaller machine took a bit longer and required more trips over the lawn to dump buckets of debris, but all of ...more the terrible soil, rhizomes, and 30 year old buried construction debris is gone, gone, gone.
He listened to what we needed, and was the only one of 5 landscape-type contractors that understood the nature of bamboo rhizomes. He had dug them out before, too. If you leave any part of the thumb-thick roots in the ground, they can regrow a whole new bamboo plant and the invasive nature begins again. Every other contractor offered to stump grind the top 12 inches of roots, showing that they truly did not understand the nature of the plant, despite having it explained to them.
's got a handful of jobs lined up, but he doesn't begin one until the previous one is finished. That means he's not running off to do something else in the middle of your project, which is also nice. He does his own work, owns his own equipment, and knows which to use when. He's got a great personality, too. Very sweet and easy to talk to, smart and knowledgable of his business.
The pricing is based on how many 10 yard dump truck loads you fill. The cost for using the tiny machine was a little more per truck (750 vs 650 for the bigger one which moves twice as much junk per scooper bucket). This makes for a very up-front and predictable cost. But honestly, the job was such a nightmare, he could have charged a lot more. He spent a solid 8 hours digging, then came back the next day and filled the hole back in at no additional cost. He arranged for someone he knew to deliver 38 yards of high quality loamy soil at a discount (about 30% less than most places sell it). Plus, he helped protect the path from the bamboo to the street (had to cross the lawn and some landscaping path) to do as little damage as possible.
I would trust
to dig up anything we needed dug. He also does dry well digging, post holes, pool removal, tractor-based demolition, etc. "
