Longmont Home Inspectors Reviews

"This company will become your worst nightmare. Their staff did not notice significant problems like leaking water and moisture in windows, but wrongly reported that the home was missing smoke detectors in each room. The $395 inspection took less than a half an hour. I spoke with management to express my disappointment and they were of no help. I asked for a refund, but they refused to refund all of the money. The real kicker is they broke the phone in the home. They did not unplug the phone when testing the outlets and cause a power surge, burning up the phone. DO NOT USE

responded very quickly to my needs, installing the detection equipment on the day of my call and completing the inspection three days later. This was excellent because I was having difficulty reaching other inspectors and I was under a time crunch.

crawled into the crawlspace to inspect foundation, wiring, floor joists etc. He came out covered in cobwebs! He brought a ladder and climbed to the second story to inspect the roof, finding a problem that needed repair. I was very pleased with his overall service and will use his services again.
"A building inspector noticed it when he was approving a water heater we had put in. I called and asked him to back up his guarantee to fix things if he missed them. He showed up, looked at the problem and denied it was an issue. I called the city inspector who told him it was. He hung up and left, coming back with a fix. I didn't supervise what he was doing since I was painting. His "fix" was to tack up a piece of flame resisitant cloth between the pipe and the wall. When he came up the stairs he made a snide comment on how our stairs were missing a rail and that was code too. He then left. Oh, and he wreaked of booze when he was here. Total

was one of the names that came up that might be a good person to do the inspection. He was able to accommodate me and my schedule. He walked me through the process and then walked me through the home. Very Thorough and detailed. He answered all my questions (in

"I arrived at this new property, and he was sitting waiting for both me and the RE Agent. He indicated he'd gotten done early, but he was still arranging the papers of the report, so I took pictures of the house so that I could remember later what it looked like inside, as the pictures on the web were all of the outside. My agent arrived and he began to go over the report. He mentioned that the furnace was cracked, and that both the furnace and AC looked bad. He said the furnace needed to be replaced, and that the AC probably should be also, but that he didn't check the AC because of the weather. It was cold outside, it had snowed. I wanted to see the AC unit, so he took us around the back of the house. He said both units were probably in excess of 20 years old, and the AC unit was rusted badly.
.He had come apparently the day before to climb up on the roof, as he said he knew we were going to get snow, so wanted to see that before as he didn't want to deal with a slippery roof. He said If I had any concerns or questions not to hesitate to call
Within a few days, my agent and I were trying to get a handle on what to ask the seller to fix. We knew we had the Furnace to ask for and the AC unit looked bad, but since the inspector did NOT inspect it, we couldn't ask for it to be replaced. We looked at the weather report and realized that we would have above 60's temperatures in a few days. So she called him to ask if he could go back and check the AC unit. She left a message as no one answered. I got her message that she hadn't reached anyone, and thought that was weird because his wife always answered the phone. So I decided to call myself. I got

. He got belligerent and angry at my request that he go back and check out the AC unit. He wanted to charge me more money for the service call, but I felt he had avoided checking the AC unit now on 2 places and that was part of the inspection. He wouldn't hear of it and hung up on me. Later I heard from my Agent that he had called her and left her a nasty voice mail message, saying that he felt she was sort of nagging him because I didn't get what I wanted from him when I spoke to him. Nothing was further from the truth. The man just has a nasty disposition and I see why he doesn't want to have people around when he does his inspections.
Ultimately I decided just to add the AC unit to the Home Warranty, as it would cost less than having him return to do the job right..
I felt any report he wrote up would probably not do me any good as his disposition was that bad.
