"I contacted Premier deck and fence to quote my fence and a gate that I wanted to have installed. They stated that they could build gates and fences. I talked with" their guy to quote originally, and he said he would get me a quote right away and that it would be easy for them to do what I asked. I called after a week had passed, and they never responded to my phone calls, emails, trying to get them over services, etc. Then, I just pretended to be a new person. They called me right back. Scheduled to send out their quotation guy. He remembered me and my project and said he would make sure that they quoted my business. That was on 8/20. He told me that the quote department was not working correctly and that he would fix it. Then I got a quote of $26,000 and for a fence that was of
Fir and not Redwood that I asked for. When I sent them a message asking them why they would quote me a gate for $22,000, then never responded to my email. It was put in as a "placeholder". Really, after 3 months you can't even quote a
gate at a reasonable price? These people are completely incompetent. I almost laughed when I saw that they complained about reviews from other sites that were terrible. Well, if you treat your customers badly, then of course they will give you bad reviews. I was very nice to the guy. I have money to do this project. I would expect a reasonable quote. Additionally, if they didn't want to do the job, why didn't they tell me this and the reason why instead of putting together this outrageous quote, after their guy said it was a good job and that he would be happy to quote it.

"A+ work and customer service from start to finish. We had an eight-week wait between the estimate and installation, and that time frame was shared with us up front." Everything was spot on - our planning was thorough, was thorough, the estimate was honest and transparent, the timeline matched what was promised, the walk-through just prior to installation answered our questions, installation was efficient and clean, and the final cost matched the estimate. Throughout the process, we had a team of 3-4 people call regularly to check progress and answer our questions. After fencepost installation, and before completion of the full fence, the company's owner visited our property to inspect the work and answer any final questions. Smooth from start to finish, reasonable cost. We would absolutely recommend
to anyone in our area looking to install a fence. Thank you for your amazing work!

Tips for Dealing With Flaky Contractors

Dear Angie: I gave a fencing contractor a $1,300 deposit on a $2,600 job. Months after we signed a contract, no work has been done. What should I do?

Fences provide practical and aesthetic value, but a badly conceived fence can be an eyesore and a source of conflict with neighbors. With wooden privacy fences, vinyl fences and others, it can be difficult to pick the best fencing option for your home. Consider these tips before making this investment in your home.

Hiring a professional to install a fence can increase the price of your fencing project, depending on size and the type of fence.

I would say depends on several things:

1) what % of the job is $400 ?

2) how good is the warranty - against all types of failure, or what - cedar fences usually fail in one of two ways - tornado/hurricane/waves/flood/car collision takes them out, or the posts (if not treated timber) rot out. The fence itself will change color and get fuzzy as it weathers, but should last 15-20 years in most areas.

3) generally, a fence is not something you would pay for a warranty on - if properly put up and with concreted-in copper chromate or copper napthalate treated posts (the green preservative) should last a long time and not need warranty work basically till the fasteners fail or the fence slat boards split too badly.

4) if I was going to spend extra money on a wood fence, it would be for a good quality penetrating sealer, not steel posts.

Fence Company reviews in Grand Junction

The first day of the job they arrived at 7:00am and took down my old chain link fence. They talked to the neighbors that it affected and put up a orange soft fence to secure their dogs. They removed some honeysuckle from the fence and took out old bushes that had grown through the fence. Another company that gave me a bid said they would charge $10 a foot for removing the honeysuckle and other plants so I was glad that I wasn't charged any extra from

. On that first day they also dug the holes for the posts and used an actual concrete mixer instead of a wheelbarrow. They had arrived at 7:00am and were gone by 10:00am.
On the second day they again arrived at 7:00am and had the entire fence done in 3 hours and it looks great. I will recommend them to everyone I know.

came to my house and gave me an estimate for an aluminum fence. His price was decent and he showed up when he said he would for the estimate. I signed a contract and gave him a deposit for materials. That was 5 months ago and he has yet to show up again. Gave me every excuse in the book as to why he wasn't showing up. Every week he says he will refund my money but has not. Please do not use this contractor or give him any money. He will cash your check at a liquor store and never show up again. I am filing lawsuits and formal complaints with the authority's. don't be fooled!!

was punctual when coming out to provide us with an estimate. He came in several hundred dollars less than his competitors. The crew arrived on time and were polite and efficient. The job was completed on time, and we are very satisfied with the fence. We would definitely use this contractor again.

I am high maintenance and very picky about how I like things and don't spend money lightly which is usually a bad combination. In this case Im very happy with the team and their capabilities. They know what they are doing and I have had lots of compliments on the fence. They are great!

Finished product looked great. Upon close inspection, the builders missed a few nail spots; however, the foreman came back the next day and re-nailed the trouble spots. The whole construction job took two days and one call-back day. My property is on a slight grade, which they handled very cleaning, even on the A-frame gates. The fence has been up for several weeks now and I have not noticed any sagging or leaning. It's a solid fence and I'm glad I went with

From start to finish, it well very well. The sales rep was very responsive, informative and thorough and answered all my questions without a single "I'll have to get back to you on that".
The install was great - I would love to say "except they hit an AT&T cable", which they did, but, in my opinion was not their fault. The fence went in August 31. Morning of Sept 1 AT&T knocked on my door saying one of the fence post holes hit one of their cables. I will say this... I'm not CR's first customer, I'm sure they've done a few fence installs before me and know how to dig fence post holes in compliance with

's markings :). They did call

, who came out and marked the lines, including AT&T lines. The new fence was on the EXACT place where the old fence was (fence posts were not in the same location as the old due to different panel lengths ). My neighbor said he didn't believe they dug on a marked line (again, what fence what contractor would dig on bright orange line on the ground?). And the post holes passed city inspection. All that tells me

didn't accuratey

the AT&T cable. Based on the lines they marked when AT&T came to repair the line, this appears to be a pretty accurate assumption.
Regardless - AT&T had to remove one fence post and two panels and dig an approximate 4' x 5' hole (not sure how deep, 3-4' I would suspect) to repair their line. AT&T didn't give any indication of their intention of returning to fill in the hole, etc. (they actually never said anything to me, just repaired their line and left). I gave AT&T over a week (Googling this situation yielded a 2 week response from AT&T - who wants to wait?) and they never contacted me. CR came out and reset the fence post, put the panels back up and filled in the hole.
No gripes at all about any of this - excellent, no hassle work through and through.

Provided a quote to repair our fence. We decided to fix it ourselves, but

provided best quote of the 3 we received. They were also most professional. Would use/recommend them.
