"I am kicking myself for not reading his reviews on other sites and keeping my money.
's office feels completely fake. He requires he be paid up front in" full and sends you on your way quickly with NOTHING of substance added. He goes on and on about why brand name drugs are so important... Allegedly for our benefit, but given his desk is completely full of pharmaceutical swag and samples (and a comment made about the reps' attractiveness) I have to wonder about his objectivity. He will eat up 20 of your 30(!) minute meeting with irrelevant chitchat and become visibly irritated if you want to actually discuss your concerns. Seriously, stay away.

At this time, it appears that no one has added them to the List by writing a review on the practice. Companies are added to the List by voluntarily registering their profile with Angie's List, or when a consumer reviews their services.

A little online sleuthing reveals that the Reston, Va. Amen Clinic is run by Dr. Joseph Annibali, who does appear on Angie's List. I have GAD. I was born with it and the symptoms slowly unfolded until a diagnosis was made at about 31 yrs. of age. It never goes away & the anxiety must be treated every day. The theory behind it is that I have no "off" switch for anxiety. I can go through life accumulating moments of anxiety until they add up to more than an individual can handle normally. Then begins the need to give anti-anxiety medicine.
My Dr.,
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
Gimeno, was having personal problems and basically abandoned his patients. I learned this only yrs. later from other patients who were also abandoned. His secretary was trying to advise me on treatment over the phone! Not the Dr.! The admitting nurse at
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
had a talk with Dr. Gimeno to convince him to write a prescription for me for an anti-anxiety medicine prior to my coming to
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
to be admitted. Finally she convinced him. It's pretty bad when a nurse has to talk and talk to a Dr. to convince him to write a script for medication I had already been on for years. It worked, but wasn't strong enough. I was switching to a Dr.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
Butler who also wouldn't treat my anxiety adequately and encouraged me to go to
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
. As I was putting up with huge amounts of crippling anxiety, I finally decided to admit myself, hoping for relief.
Arriving at
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
the admitting nurse proceeded to lecture me about her "tough love" in kicking out her 16-yr.-old for some action of his. She was gay & I wondered if what she really wanted her home to herself. She could barely contain her anger. I have no idea how this was related to me, but she seemed to think it was.
I was then strip searched for scars for medical records. One man, one woman. Didn't like the man being present.
I was admitted to a
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
that was locked. No medication or maybe 1 because on a Fri. night the pharmacy didn't have the time or availability to review my medicines and OK them. The rooms are shared by 2 people. I had a bad night when my roomie had a very loud and alternating noise on some kind of breathing machine. I tried sleeping on the floor the farthest away I could get from her, but it was still very loud. I ended up somewhere, I think a couch in the well-lit and noisy central open room.
I suffered through the night & am until a Dr. came to give a talk to us all.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
& behold, it was my new Dr
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
! He seemed to be on staff there as he was often there talking to groups. Now I knew why he wouldn't treat me and wanted me to come to
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
. Incredibly selfish of him to let me suffer weeks as I simply needed the medicine to cover my anxiety, not to fill a place in the Hospital.
Therapies there and choices of going to classes & meetings was very helpful to
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
the time until my medicine was approved. I did learn some new things. Some groups were very good. Most of these people were very friendly. We had some outside time on grass, nothing else.
All major positions were held by lesbians which I found unusual. One meeting was run by an angry lesbian who focused her anger on a group of addicts and addressed no other needs of us many other patients. She took questions but only on the addicts...drinkers, I think.
In a few days I went home. I had worked hard to be & appear calm despite my anxiety prior to being discharged.
Eventually my anxiety evened out. It takes many weeks of slow improvement when it is allowed to be uncontrolled for over a week.
I attended outpatient classes and learned more about different people's problems and also mine. The classes or meetings were usually very good. I also have major depression so I learned more about that, too. Since mostly everyone takes turns speaking, each person gets a small amount of time. This outpatient treatment was being cancelled in the not too distant future. I found it helpful and interesting and hope it's now in effect.
I learned there were a lot of people coping with more serious diseases & disorders than mine. There go I, but for the grace of God.... Everyone seemed like normal people who had some medical issues. Most of the diseases were there at birth. You couldn't blame the individual for acquiring the disease through choice, except the addicts. These non-addicted patients are everyday people who know what's going on in their lives and the world, but suffer greatly from their diseases.
Advice: Try to avoid being admitted on a Fri. night. You won't get your medicines.
Going to all the many meetings and groups can be very helpful. I even went to an AA meeting and learned some good philosophies.
Find out if your Dr. is on staff at a hospital if s/he wants you to go there vs. treating you. My Dr. could have prescribed the same medicines to me as an outpatient, as had my very 1st Dr. did with no hospital admission.
Stay away from the illegal drug activity; don't let yourself get caught up in it accidentally.

Although I have always seems to have trouble getting efficient assistance with the front desk staff, I have always considered the office physicians to have very pleasant bedside manner. However, I have found it extremely difficult to even get an appointment with my current physician even when he insists that I report any emergency situations. There was even a few instances that the doctor had to intervene and ask that the ladies at the receptionist desk allow patients to relay messages to him pertaining to situations of emergency, but they continue to deny accommodation. I have even had a pharmacist that refused to have any contact or association with the office due to the office staff's rudeness and unavailability. I find the office staff to be very condescending at times. I have even over been subjected to awkward situations in which they were making negative comments and remarks about another patient while still in my presence. Although the Dr. C is a competent and empathetic physician, I could no longer subject myself to constantly deal with such hassles. As long as there are no hold ups or concerns regarding insurance, medications, and appointments (basically anything), then you are not likely to receive any objection from this office staff.

My first visit with Dr.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
was on 10/3. On that date, I had brought records from my previous doctor with me. Also on that date, Dr.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
prescribed a new medication, which she discontinued via phone on 10/14 as I had a reaction to it. In the 3-1/2 weeks since my first visit, Dr.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
had not taken the time to review my records to see what medications I had been on, although I did provide a spreadsheet "cheat sheet" of them for her reference. She stated she felt like she could not put me on any medication until she reviewed my records and that she had been too busy to review them. Although Dr.
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
asked questions and took notes on both visits, I left from the second visit feeling like the whole thing, both the two visits and the weeks I waited to get in to see her, had been a total waste of my time and money. Why would a doctor set up an appointment with a patient, and then not review the patient's records before the appointment? Granted, I took her quite a few pages of records, but if she didn't have time to scan through them in 3-1/2 weeks, then the appointment should've been re-scheduled. Also, I'm not sure why it was okay to prescribe something the first visit without reviewing my records, but then not prescribe something the second visit. To be honest, I'm not sure what the whole second visit accomplished - I left no better off than when I got there.

We didn't click, and I often felt as if she was bored. She also seemed to contradict whatever I was saying - if I was saying I was holding my hopes in check so I wouldn't feel disappointed if the fertility treatment didn't work, she said I needed to be hopeful (as if success depended on it). When I got pregnant, I said I was excited and was thinking about where to put a crib, and she said hold on, it was way too soon for that. Overall, I did not feel warmth from her, and I ended up dreading our appointments. Also, she was annoyed with me for missing an appointment, but I had rescheduled it and she had forgotten to change it in her calendar. And she told me the name of another patient in her care, which seems like a breach of confidentiality. On the plus side, the prescription she wrote me did help my anxiety. I ended up asking my regular doctor to continue it and also went for walks, did yoga, and read about techniques to reduce stress, which really helped.

When I cancelled the appointment, the woman I spoke to asked why I was cancelling and I was honest and told her that the reviews I had read of Dr
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
were not very flattering and I preferred to continue looking for another doctor and did not want to consider anyone else at their center. She was very polite and thanked me for my honesty and said she would cancel my appointment. Well, imagine my surprise when the following month my bank card showed a $300 cancellation fee from Oasis. I immediately called them and asked for the office manager to call me regarding this.
She did call and agreed to reverse the charges from my bank card. I waited a few days and of course the charge was not reversed. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge and they started an investigation. They did contact Oasis and in the end refunded my money.
Once again, imagine my surprise when Oasis decided to bill me through the mail for the $300 charge! I guess they figured since they could not bill my credit card they would just treat it as any other bill and start sending me bills though the mail. The bill even showed the credit card charge being reversed! I was furious and immediately started researching how to fight such fraudulent medical bills. I found out that the Maryland Attorney General's office actually handles medical billing disputes and immediately filed a complaint with them against Oasis. They were so helpful; I encourage anyone with legitimate consumer complaints to contact them.
My bill from Oasis through the mail was received in early September and as of last week (late Nov.) the Maryland Attorney General's office assured me that the billing dispute had been resolved and Oasis had agreed to cease billing me for a $300 "missed appointment" fee.
I would not recommend this center for any purposes- pyschiatric care, therapy, etc. They clearly are incompetent and unethical. And I would caution anyone in agreeing to any missed appointment fees prior to being seen by any doctor. It is your word against theirs if you cancel an appointment and once they have your credit card they can charge you no matter what transpires.

Senile for suThis woman doesn't listen at all and becomes fixated on one or two items. Example she I had a drug problem due to a 2mg
Durango Psychiatrists Provider Name Locked
of Klonipin; every doc I've met in two cities states this is the ideal does. Said my problem was sedating drugs but they wear off by morning and an add med keps me alert; she never saw me sedated. Last session she proclained "You're not depressed" Claimed drug addict; never listned long enough to hear my back improved and I went off the hydrocodone. Senile and hatefull; I'm going elsewhere.

I have attempted to work with her till this date, but I feel like a lab rat as she doesn't seem to probe much for my problems just stares me down making it hard to communicate my problems and then she just writes a script for some junk medication that she says should help but only makes me feel worse. To me she really doesn't seem to care. She comes to the waiting room all smiles then she sits there with a sour expression on her face the entire visit once we get into the room. It makes me feel like I'm being looked down on and causes me to have problems communicating what I want to say. If you already go to her and get along with her good, if not DO NOT try to start. I'm not sure if her other patients are all women but based on their reviews she treats me COMPLETELY different than them.
