"So far, so good. Problem has not recurred.

"Appointment was set up over phone, very professional.
called when he was on his way. Diagnosed the problem, went to get the part, returned" and fixed dryer in short order. Very professional, knowledgeable, told me what part would cost, even vacuumed behind the washer before he put it back in place!! Then ran test cycle to make sure washer was functioning properly. Will definitely use

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

Since you asked this question over a year ago, I'm pretty sure you've already made your decision but I'd like to offer you some advice.  You mentioned your husband vacuumed the coils and it worked for a couple more weeks.  Chances are the condenser coils were very dirty when he did this.  When refrigerator condenser coils are dirty, the compressor overheats and heat will cause a compressor to fail prematurely.  You should vacuum or blow out your condenser coils regularly.  Today's refrigerator compressors are not made to last like they were in the past.  I remember when it wasn't unusual for a compressor to last 30 years.  You won't see that happen with the way refrigerator compressors are made today.  Regular cleaning of your condenser coils is crucial in preventing premature failure of your compressor.  For more tips, check out my article here on Angie's list titled "How To Avoid Appliance Repairs"

I contacted
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
as the provider my warranty company had selected couldn't come out for 10-14 days.
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
came out and he walked me through everything he was doing to diagnose the problem as to why my refrigerator wasn't working. He also waited patiently while the warranty company kept us on hold so he could explain the issue to them.
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
was very professional and I would contact him in the future if I have any appliance repair needs.

I have used
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
in the past and generally have been happy, but I was not happy with this visit. My problem is with the price.
I discovered the gas dryer was not producing heat on a Sunday night. I called
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
the following Monday but they said they could not send anyone out for a week. I was not able to be home but our
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
was here to let the technician in. The dryer is now working and that is great news.
The technician was here for a grand total of 21 minutes and total cost was $136.30. Parts were only $22.45. Given that the
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
is only 10 minutes from my house, the labor charge was effectively $227/hour. The invoice had $99.95 just for them to show up and then $12.50 labor. I think that is crazy and I will likely try someone else the next time I need appliance repair.
Please note, I have not rated quality as it has only been a few hours since the repair was done. I also did not rate professionalism as I was not present when the technician was here.

Excellent-
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
went above and beyond in fixing our fridge. Right before we were supposed to host a family party, the fridge began to fail (not cold enough) and
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
initially attempted to address the issue with a less expensive repair. When that did not work, he provided us with dry ice to put in our fridge for the party and then did the final repair after our guests had left. He also followed up with a subsequent visit to 'tweak' the compressor (and fix our non-functioning ice maker as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience of multiple visits) and ensure its proper functioning. He also did a good job of providing education on how to properly maintain the refrigerator. In sum, we highly recommend the company and we will use then again in the future when needed.

Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
was great, starting with the initial phone call all the way through to the end. He returned my first call within ten minutes even though I called well after normal business hours. He even gave me troubleshooting tips to try first in an attempt to save me money. Think about that for a second...he gave me advice on how to fix the problem myself at no charge, potentially costing himself a pay day. When those tips didn't

out he was at my house within 48 hours and made the repair. What's more he followed up with a phone call the next day to make sure everything was working properly. I highly recommend him and I will use him again for appliance repair in the future.

My dryer started making a horrible noise. I thought for sure this was the end of the line for it, but before I bought a new one, I thought I'd see if it could be fixed.
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
had fixed my washer before, so I gave him a call. He came within a couple of days. He took the dryer apart and found that the drum belt was hanging on by a thread. He put on a new one, but before he did that he cleaned out years of dust and lint. Didn't take him long and the dryer was good as new. Very happy customer!

Our washer was flashing error code F-21, indicating clogged drain *or* failed pump. We manually cleared the drain plug (twice), so we knew it was a failed pump. Called dispatch 7a Saturday and explained situation, but they said they couldn't send a repairman until 3p-6p that evening. Repairman arrived 6p and within 5 minutes confirmed our suspicion of failed pump, but he brought the wrong replacement pump. Charged us $69 for the visit and said he would try to get the right part then return. Called later that evening to say he couldn't get part until Monday. Called us 9a Monday and said couldn't dispatch repairman until 5p. Guy arrived 5p and spent 25 minutes replacing pump. Said two-day delay in repair was our fault for failing to give him the part number when we reported the problem (they never asked). Charged whopping $345 total: Pump *retails* locally for $168, so in addition to his markup he charged us $177 for 30 minutes total labor even after such an inconvenient delay. Not impressive service, and I felt gouged.

The technicians that came were on time and very professional. Explained everything as they went along and even cleaned the niche where the fridge stood once they had moved it to access the electronics. They even took their shoes off without being asked. Would highly recommend!

I called
Delta Appliance Repair Services Provider Name Locked
on Saturday, explained the problem. He said he'd be there between 9am and Noon. At 11, my wife called to see if he was coming. Turns out he forgot. He said he'd be there in a half hour, which he was, and given where he came from he essentially grabbed his tool box and the parts and came right over. He was professional as he conducted the repair. Dryer works fine. I would use him again, just make sure to confirm the appointment time.
