The sales person,
Amiram, came out to our 80 year old home to provide us with a quote for solar panels. I had been investigating this project for several years and had a pretty good idea on what the costs would be. We were told that the main electrical panel might have to upgraded at an additional cost, however, as we suspected, our existing 100 amp electrical panel was sufficient and didn't need to be replaced. When
gave us the prices they were right in where I expected them to be. After a little negotiating, we came to an agreement and started the process.
A few days later, a representative of the company came by to inspect the roof areas for the panel placement. He was very informative and professional and told us that we had 2 possible locations where the panels could be placed. We called
with our decision the next day.
One week after our agreement, the roofer,
, came out to review the different roofing materials and colors with us. He was very pleasant and explained what they were going to do and what we could expect. Since they had to tear off the entire existing roof, we thought it was going to be very messy, however, the work-site was kept clean and safe at all times. There were a few mishaps during the work, however,
made sure that everything was corrected before he turned the job over to the solar panel installation team.
The solar panel installers were very professional and courteous. They informed us of everything that they were doing and how we could expect the job to proceed. When they were finished, everything was inspected, approved and finaled by the LA County inspector.
I'm usually accused of being pretty skeptical, but this time I'm glad to say that we actually made a good choice in contractors. During the entire process from start to finish, my wife and I felt confident that they would do exactly as specified on the contract. And they have.

In brief, everything went great, and both my wife and I are very happy. Yes, we would go with
again (as no other companies come even close). If you want details in "fast-forward" mode, it goes like this: I read all the reviews on Angie's List; saw
' review of
; read
' blog; corresponded with
via email; met with
("guru") and
("point-of-contact"); got two more bids, one from Solar City and one from another local company; went over to
's house to check out his 5K system; met with
and
at a previous client
's house; looked at
's solar system; and then signed the contract. Yes, I spent a lot of time researching, but the process of researching itself was fascinating (and even fun, but I'm a "geeky/nerdy" guy who finds physics/electricity fascinating). The installation itself was only a few days. It took many days, however, before NV Energy to come out and switch out the meters. Now, let's cut to the chase; let's talk about money: $45,000 upfront (in 3 divided installments, 20%, 60% and 20%) for a house that's almost 5,000 sqft in "living space/indoors," and our system is 14 kw.hr system.
's system is 5 kw.hr system for 1,500 sqft living space (as
retired), and it would cost around $16,000-17,000. The going rate is $3,250 per each kw.hr system. Keep that in mind; anything higher than that rate, you are paying too much. Also keep in mind that that rate is BEFORE you get your federal tax credit. And the federal tax credit itself is also a bit tricky, too, and the best thing to do is to "owe" the federal government lots of income tax after you file your tax return so that you don't have to pay what you owe them, i.e., reduce your withholdings by increasing your "tax table" number from, say 0 to 2. I paid $45,000 for 14 kw.hr system (approximately $3,250/kw.hr). I reduced withholdings, i.e., increase the tax table number from 0 to 2. So I get a lot more on each pay check. I expect to owe more than $13,500 after I file my tax return next year. I will pay, however, whatever I owe MINUS $13,500. So, in essence, yes, you paid a large sum for your solar panels, but you are getting it back gradually in small installments on your paycheck, i.e., you don't have to wait until next year for that 30% federal income tax credit! The next question on your mind is how much is your NV Energy bill? For
, $120 (was $450 last year). For August, $99 (was $420 last year). Per calculation, my solar panels make about $320/month of electricity, assuming nearly every day is sunny. And that's for about 20 years, after which the efficiency goes down gradually. By its 30th year, the panels are expected to maintain at least 60-70% of its generative power, which is still about $200/month. Now about
: you will meet
as point-of-contact person, and you'll recognize what a nice guy he is. Ask to meet
and
White, who joined
(an existing electrical company with a solid reputation) so that they could start a solar panel "division," so to speak. Both
and
are not "in it for money." BTW, I work in a health care field, and I'm not related to anyone related in any way to
.

Other than the multiple times they said they'd come out and do it and we'd wait weeks for them to finally come out, they did a good job and the price for the quality is very nice. Worth the wait! They would get all A's if they would have called or come out when they promised.

Colorado Springs Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
did a fantastic job. He was great in responding to our initial call, troubleshooting our system, corresponding with the manufacturer, replacing the malfunctioning inverters and walked us through how to resolve the issues. He's very thorough. He even took pictures and sent them to us for our files and pointed out some additional issues with our panels. Excellent, excellent experience. Highly recommended. We will definitely use his services again!

Getting the service provider to schedule the work, order the parts, and perform the service under warranty was far too time consuming and difficult. They don't return phone calls, they have lots of excuses (no parts, new employees, new management, etc).
BUT the technicians are great, fast, and good!
And I got so frustrated that I found someone else to do the work, but only
Colorado Springs Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
had the parts! So I was stuck with them.

We are very disappointed in a company that seemed on top of the game, in terms in what was proposed for us (type of installation and location on our property). What can we do? (860) 429-7188. We don't know if

Colorado Springs Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
have been reluctant to tell us what was happening or why; they have given vague promises of future action, but with no specific deadlines or plan of action, and usually only contact us when we have asked them specific questions.
A major part of the payment (about $18,000) was supposed to be paid on delivery of equipment . We understood that this meant the solar panels, but these were not delivered to our house because we have no suitable place to store them. Mr.

We hired
Colorado Springs Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
& Air 5 years ago to install an entire heating and cooling system during our remodel. The service was excellent 5 years ago as it is today. The system has worked very well for us since the installation, we were directed to the best solution for our needs not the most expensive. We called the company out recently to ask some questions and make sure that everything was working correctly. The technician did a complete check of the HVAC system and the vents and answered our many questions and dispelled the many myths about services required to maintain heating and air conditioning. We appreciated the thorough testing and honest answers and we felt completely comfortable having the technician come into our home.

Awesome, On-time and great communication - Very easy to work with and they were able to figure out what was wrong with my inverter when another company, who I won't name couldn't! Have already recommended them to a few of my friends for a full system, wish I would have had them install my solar system in the first place!

I had previously had a leak in one of my solar panels.

gave a 20 yr warranty, with the 1st 12 yrs 100% parts and labor. The man is great, he responds to phone calls and always comes when promised. Additionally after installing my south side panels he checked out my entire system (no charge) for leaks including the south facing panels installed on the by someone else 3 years ago for the previous owner.

I was fortunate to bump into
Colorado Springs Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
at the Home Depot where he was buying some electrical parts. I soon learned that he is passionate about Solar Energy and takes perfectionistic pride in his work. You can tell that he enjoys planning and executing the project for optimal results, including the aesthetics of the

view--All electrical conduits are carefully mapped to be out-of-view. He coordinated with the roofer to optimize the deployment of 21 state-of-the-art LG 300-watt panels with micro-inverters. He directed the roofer to move some vents to make room for the best solar location.

charged about $4000 per kW of photovoltaic system (i.e. ~$25,000 for 6.3kW system). This includes all hardware, Enphase microinverters and a Envoy computer/web monitoring system that monitors the real-time performance of each panel. Only one other contractor came close in price. But besides the great price I found the project to be fun as well as instructive.
