On the morning of the installation, we received a voice mail saying there were "outside issues" and that we had been rescheduled for February 19th. We had been offered a good deal, and they had convinced me that I was no dealing with the same maddeningly terrible customer service and service quality I had in the past, so this was just fine. I took the day off, got everything ready for them. No show, no call. When I called, I talked to a very sweet, completely clueless young lady from the Phillipines (who was of course IN the Phillipines) who was very apologetic but could not tell me anything.
Then I called and talked with
I just wanted to send you an email to let you know that since our Fiberoptics was installed on 10-24-13, we have been very unhappy with the service. I was noticing that the system needed to be rebooted frequently and the picture was stalling during DVR playback as well as the picture was pixelated. I called to get service a few times prior to asking for someone to come out physically on 12-3-13. He came out and checked out the boxes and had to replace our main DVR box. Once Mr.
Since Mr. Babik has been out to fix the system on 12-20-13, we have been out of town and just returned last evening (1-1-14). When I turned on the TV, the DVR box was already reading Err...I do not know how long it was on Err. We had to once again unplug the modem & DVR and reboot the system. I was also using the remote control to fast forward through a DVR'd program and the FF button would not work and we had to go to the CBT store in the Eastgate Mall to get the remote replaced. The final straw was when I was watching a show on playback today, and the screen just went black, the guide at the bottom was working, but no picture. I once again had to reboot the system. I would say that on average, I am rebooting my system at least once a day, and modem/DVR reboot at the very least 2-3 times a week.
A couple of other issues I have is that there is no caller id block (for my outgoing calls-privacy block), and I have set the caller id to show up on the TV when someone calls, yet nothing ever shows up on the screen. In conclusion, with all my problems with your service and the massive outage last month that took out everyone's service, I am just fed up with the issues. If my issues can not be resolved or at least handled in an acceptable manner, I will be returning to TWC.
AS of 1-31-14, we have switched all services back to TWC but our phone number has never been ported back over to TWC. After multiple calls & getting SR. management involved to no avail, we have had to get a new phone number from TWC & CBT is still holding our phone number hostage and will not port over to TWC.
quoted $78 and I
time I would call to fix my bill, which was EVERY month, I was treated like I
was stupid as they talked in circles and played the blame game with Dish. I am
so happy to finally be rid of them!! Avoid these guys like the plague!
A huge difference with my previous provider beating box stopped allowing me to view live TV or record/view anything on the DVR. Unlike
Channels - while I had more channels when I started with my previous provider, when I switched to a lower priced package, I did
Program Guide - I like my previous provider better - it says "new" right where the series is listed, so you can easily scroll through the guide and record just the new episodes you want, skipping repeats. With
Quality - The biggest difference with TV is picture and voice quality. With
While it's a toss up, my previous provider wins here for speed and also for their Yahoo option e-mail. I liked the fact that they had disposable e-mail addresses so you could easily use one for awhile and if you started to get a lot of spam, you could change it. I never gave out my actual address but used various disposable ones. Also, you could change the colors, etc. of both your webmail and browser home page with them. You can't with
I am not a big internet user, but lately have noticed that every time (2-3 times per week) I want to use my laptop, the Wi-Fi signal is out. My network does not appear, and so I have to reboot the modem, which takes a good 5 minutes and cuts the phone service out while it's rebooting. In addition, several times when I've tried to get e-mail in the evening, rather than morning, I can't. Nothing downloads, and this is from the main Ethernet connected computer. The next morning I notice that I did indeed have e-mail. So, my guess is if you are the type of person who uses the internet frequently, you will have reasons to dislike
As an update, after months of calling about my problematic phone service, a technician came out and told me that my original SMS modem often stops working after awhile. He replaced it and both the phone and Wifi connection have improved, so far.
Because I had a salesperson, I was offered a much better rate than is advertised on line; my contract has a higher price for this 2nd year, but it was specified in the contract, so I thought I was protected. However, they claim they can raise rates even though you have a contracted price. So it looks like even though you might be quoted a lower price initially, since they can change your rate at any point, it's not really such a great deal after all. As previously mentioned,
My previous provider gives you the modem for free and charges for the DVR;

I would say that the only thing "awesome" about Xfinity is their salesperson. If it was not for him, I would have cancelled within the first 30 days of service. If you don't mind your telephone service constantly going out; missing important phone calls; sometimes not being able to be heard on the phone; slow internet; intermittent Wi-Fi signals; error messages when you try to watch your DVR or live TV; on-demand with video pixels; voice not in sync with video on the TV; sound on your TV going out at least twice per hour; as well as having to make several calls per month to
2 years ago they said we would get better service if we upgraded to 12MB. Same issues. The service drops daily. Fine one minute and out the next. The modems constantly reset. They have to come out and replace the modems every 6 months. I request a price break for the poor service and they say no.

Two sentences later she said I could call back if I didn't hear from the supervisor and they could take care of it.
Wait... WHAT? Why can't we just take care of it now?!
For the amount of money I pay for this service and because I have never had a late payment before, I expect to get some decent customer service.
