Long story short. My recently deceased grandmother had china that my mother sent to me. Not only did I receive the packages with 40% of the items broken. They also tried to charge me shipping Again since it was forwarded, when I should have only been charged the amount from the forward. They also, could not locate the packages for about 1 week.
Usually all post offices are just okay not great not horrible. This is without a doubt the worst Post Office I have had the displeasure of dealing with.
The manager spent about 10 minutes taping and securing my package. He felt it would be better to make sure it was packaged properly rather than to show them how it arrived. He attached the label. Basically, he did all the things I should have done at home and didn't ask for a cent and didn't even complain! I offered to pay him but he wouldn't take it.
I have used this store before and received good service but I thought this service was above and beyond the call and that is why I am writing this time. The manager even explained to me how to track the package to make sure that I knew when it had arrived and then I could check to see that my reimbursement followed promptly. The owner is very nice and I consider it an improvement that the previous female employee is no longer there. That employee was abrasive, sometimes rude to customers and not service-oriented. You invariably would hear her complaining about something. When you entered you didn't know if she would nice or nasty that day. It was just so danged inconvenient to change address after so long, that we just worked with it.
Since the owner has taken over, we have seen an improvement in their services. They still have an issue with not having enough staff during busy times (3-5:30 p.m.). Generally, there is only one person behind the counter to ring up sales, mail packages or pick up packages.
The place is clean and neat and it was nice having someone sign for packages.
