"
was punctual, in constant communication and a great help to us! She definitely knows her stuff and was not pretentious. She was mindful" of our budget and wanted to help us maximize our space according to our how we actually use the rooms.

"
and
are a fabulous team. They are gifted in the area of design, excellent communicators, natural ability to listen" to the needs of a client, and transform ideas to a design plan. Their design element is amazing. I appreciated their ability to work within a budget, to offer different avenues to use their services and stay within the price margin. They are respectful of the needs of the client and their is no pressure to spend more than what you have agreed on. They are detailed and you as a client, can receive a spreadsheet with the products, price, links to where to order, as well as different costs, based on the type of service needed. A design board is provided with options as well. They offer a range of services, based on what the client needs. I have used this team three different times, each time, they exceed my expectations. We hired their services to to set up an assisted living apartment for my mom , they were so creative in using familiar with the new, and at the same time, making the apartment functional, and again, offered a reasonable budget plan, as well as a senior discount. The rooms were beautiful, inviting, functional, pleasing environment. In my home, they redesigned a living room, and worked with me to refresh the family room. Through the entire process, their work ethic was fabulous, excellent communicators, always willing to address any questions, or issues that may arise. The end result is beautiful. One of their top strengths that I apreciated, was the ability to listen, observe, ask questions, and design a plan that reflects your needs as a client. We are still in awe of how well they discerned what we desired and brought all the ideas together, and created a gorgeous room for our family.

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

Buyers should be wary of using
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
despite their Angie’s List rating unless you have prior experience with extensive remodeling projects.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
saw an opportunity to take advantage of my 81-year old mom who wanted to remodel a small hall bath and an outdated master bath. Their treatment was abysmal following collection of their initial down payment.
I thoroughly reviewed the contracts and addendums and
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
Page deliberately obfuscated many of the terms, conditions, and details with scribbled notes that no reasonable person could be expected to understand. However, one thing is clear --
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
is obligated to refund $632.25 for overpayment of their contracted price totaling $42,633. That calculation is indisputable. I also tried to intervene on my mom's behalf during this project to no avail.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
unresponsive.
A formal complaint will be filed with the Virginia State Contractor’s board if they
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
’t live up to that
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
obligation.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
began the project on April 22, 2015 with an estimated completion date of May 8, 2015. The project was not completed until
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
7, 2015. That fact alone illustrates how
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
assigned this project a “we’ll get to it when we feel like it” priority given my mom was the only person occupying the house full-time and unable to defend herself and stand up for her rights. The May 8, 2015 date was specifically negotiated so my mom could attend her granddaughters college graduation.
On May 13, 2015,
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
finally secured the leverage he was looking for that guaranteed he could extend this project the next two months and strip away all the leverage my mom, or any homeowner has in a project like this.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
sent his employee, Chase, to collect final payment and my mom dutifully complied believing that by giving
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
payment in full,
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
would be more motivated to complete the job. At a minimum,
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
’s actions are a disgrace.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
never visited the house once during the project following an initial meeting to review contract addendums. Instead, he had some employee taking pictures for him who was also supposed to present my mom with a “book” that never materialized.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
warranted that they were not using contracted workers or day laborers. There were long periods of time when nobody showed up -- two weeks in one instance. Many times, days would pass without any work. My mom had to call
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
constantly to ask if anyone was going to show up for work for the day.
When employees did show up, it was at irregular hours without notice. Other times my mom would call to see if anyone was coming to work for the day and
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
would say yes, and then nobody would show up. All this behavior is consistent with a contractor who misses a deadline by two months and has decided that the only person they are accountable to is an 81-year old woman.
My mom was a virtual prisoner for 3-months during this project since
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
took three months to complete it and did not hold regular hours. She was never able to leave the house and was either futilely waiting for workers to arrive, or sitting around while they were actually working (a more rare occurrence).
Very few workers employed by
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
spoke English. That made it impossible to communicate about any concerns on-site during construction. The one employee who did speak English only made appearances when the workers arrived (presumably to ensure someone was showing up at all and to give instruction) and then they left.
Employees never cleaned the property after each visit. Construction debris (several pieces of two by four lumber) was left in the middle of the kitchen floor for a week creating dangerous tripping hazards and making it very difficult to negotiate the space. When my mom asked if they could be moved somewhere more discreet, they said they were going to be used for the project. A week later she again asked that they be removed and they were. And they were never used for her project.
Construction debris was left on the front lawn overnight for days despite multiple requests to have it removed. My mom lives in a community governed by
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
covenants and they warned her two times during that period to have it removed.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
chose the water faucet for the sink in the small bath. After they installed it, they realized that the existing medicine cabinet doors could not be opened or closed anytime the faucet was on and running water. Initially, they refused to move the medicine cabinet higher up the wall to remedy the problem. After many calls to
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
, they finally moved the medicine cabinet higher but now, even today, refuse to repair or paint the newly exposed drywall as a result of their mistake.
This list only represents a fraction of the indignities
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
imposed on my mom.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
never even visited the house on the last day to survey the workmanship. That is how little he, or any other authoritative figure at
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was invested in this project.
The $623.25 refund is contractually due.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
Page Design should be relieved to set this issue aside because there are plenty of other claims that could be pursued and my mom is looking for a prompt reimbursement for the overpayment.
Use
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
at your own risk. Our experience was pitiful.

Terrene is top-notch! We worked together on a number of projects, most notably a kitchen renovation, and are so happy we did.
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
is a joy to work with. I am meticulous about details and project management, and she exceeded my expectations at every turn. As we selected the finishes, her guidance
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
us to choices that were beautiful, functional, and considerate of our budget. From cabinet configurations to color choices, I trusted her design expertise and opinions completely. She was also brilliant problem-solver when it came to project scheduling. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom remodeling, we sourced paint, hardwood flooring, and carpet from Terrene for all but two rooms in our new house and had great experiences working with
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to finalize those choices. We are very happy with the work we did in partnership with Terrene and highly recommend them!

have used
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
with Business of Color several times, and she has consistently recommended "spot on" color suggestions that I have just loved; colors I would not have known about myself, but that in the end look gorgeous, professions, and simply "work". I highly recommend
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
& have enjoyed working with her. This is a great service that is one of the best kept secrets.

The owner of the company came out. After looking at the first bathroom he told me I needed to be prepared to spend at least $23k for one room and that travertine was really the only way to go. I anticipated spending that amount for two bathrooms plus a powder room. He then explained how some things just come in packages like the new car he just bought. He expected to have to pay $110k but the packages for what he wanted made it cost $160k. He told me to let him know when or if I was ready to adjust my budget. I decided this company was way out of my price range. Nothing on other reviews would have
Stockton Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
me to expect this. I decided to go with a company that was much more responsive to me needs and my budget realities
