Angie's Answers

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was EXTREMELY difficult to work with. Any time I had a concern, he would raise his voice and argue with me. Twice he yelled at me and would also yell to his workers outside in my driveway. The houses are so close to one another the whole block probably heard him yell. It was so embarrassing that I hired a man that has anger management issues. He talked a big game about how he is the #1 installer in the Tampa Bay area, does a professional job, and all his clients are happy in the end. He did not deliver as promised... First, he corrected a seat bench in the guest bathroom and charged me $700 just to retile a 26”x12”x19” shower bench. He is greedy and charges way more than the quality that is delivered. I was asked how I wanted the bench done and he did it the way he wanted it done anyway. Second, he did the tile in the master bathroom. It cost me $4,350 and I supplied the travertine tiles. I decided to pay this amount after a failed install in my guest bathroom by another company. I was promised a professional, quality job. It's so upsetting to know that I paid so much money for uneven floor tiles, chipped tiles installed, and it wasn’t done the way I wanted it. Five times he asked me how I wanted things done and then went and did it his way anyway. The tub was supposed to have a full tile around the outside. He did two tiles that are 2 different sizes just to follow the seam to the shower. That was not what I asked for. The shower threshold was supposed to be aligned with the bathroom floor as it was originally. Instead he made a ledge and now I have to take a huge

down into my shower every day. I wanted the tiles above the deco strip to be diagonal. The estimate said, “Installation straight and offset top.” When it came time to install, he said that it would cost more if I wanted diagonal above the deco strip, so I just did straight

. He was supposed to do a window sill and argued with me that we didn’t discuss that and it wasn’t in the estimate. Why would I redo an entire bathroom with beige travertine tiles, espresso cabinets, and brown granite and then keep a gray cheap fake marble window sill?? We had discussed it. He was just too lazy to make a window sill. I wanted to put granite there and he suggested travertine tiles. He had to come back to replace a chipped tile in the entryway of the bathroom that was also black and stuck out like a sore thumb. He replaced it and in the process chipped the tile above it and made it uneven with the tile above it. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company at all. Also,

’t know what. Shortly after completion, my toilet and sink started leaking.

came back 3 times to “fix” the sink, but it kept leaking. He said the toilet was fine, but it ended up leaking again. He said that the next time he came back he would have to “change the setup” of the sink but he never came and it has been 2 months now. He left me with a leaking toilet that was completely fine before the remodel and a leaking sink (that was leaking before). Beware!!

provided top-notch service from our first encounter through the end of our project. Our bathroom and master bedroom are gorgeous. When we visited the showroom,
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner, and his employees gave us a great deal of personal attention. After listening to our thoughts,
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
showed us an unusual floor material that we loved and then helped us identify a complementary shower tile. Two of his store employees later helped us choose the right mosaic trim. Choosing complementary materials is harder than one might think; the choices seem endless.

was very responsive as we scheduled installation to start the Monday before Thanksgiving. The holiday caused the job to take a little longer than one might expect, but the installers --

Excellent service and excellent company. The crew was very professional and they did an incredible job on the floors. Part of our downstairs area already had hardwood, and the comparison between the hardwood installed by some other company (not sure who... we bought it that way) and
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
is night and day. I have no doubt that the

floors will last a lifetime.
A few unexpected surprises came up during the install (we had to re-level the floors because we have an old house), but
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
stayed true to the original estimate and didn't charge me an extra cent for the labor/parts required to re-level the floors.
I can't say enough great things about this company and would highly recommend them to anybody.

OK mr.
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
came out to look at our house, the hardwood floor specifically to have them refinished. This guy is very professional came on time, gave an estimate within a few minutes of looking at the floors, and after I explained what I wanted the floors to look like. They came out promptly and it took several days to finish the floors from sanding, staining, and top coat. The floors look really good, they were kind and courteous.

This is a good example of how local businesses
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
large home improvement stores. Not that I have anything against large hardware stores (I still use them) but I have to say the service, care and pricing we received at
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was amazing.
We recently purchased a home and the carpet in it was nasty (pet stains an odor). Initially we wanted to go with Lowes since we had a 10% off coupon and we were satisfied with their service until we got our estimate. They had overestimated the Sq footage by over 400 sq ft and insisted that it was correct, so we looked at alternative and I am glad it

us to

Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
handled our purchase and I have to say she went above and beyond in helping us. She gave us a realistic sq.ft estimate and came back with an even better price for a better carpet ($1500 less). To add to this, we had a water leak a day before the installation and
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was so nice that she stopped by, removed the wet carpet and helped us dry the area. The install is also worth mentioning as it went smoothly and everything was clean and in place when we returned home.
I still love my large department stores purely due to the convenience but my experience with
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
has opened me to new options. We are very picky with whom we pick and always go off of reviews. So trust me when I say that I highly recommend
Sonora Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

It went pretty good. The rooms look really nice. After they installed the floor in the kitchen they put up a piece of wrong color wood that was darker than the rest of the trim and I asked them about it and they said they would be out to fix it and put the right trim in. It's been a week now and I haven't heard from them so I am disappointed about that. They didn't clean up very well after themselves and they charged me 3% extra for using a credit card to pay. They did show up every day they were supposed to and on time.

and his team did an excellent job! They worked quickly, and kept their workspace clean. They took all precautions to cover up my wood flooring to prevent damage. Their finish work and attention to detail was awesome as well! I will definitely use them again for any tile work or flooring work I need. I highly recommend them!!!!

, his crew and Pro Source were all amazing. He is professional, prompt, reliable and a really nice guy. What I appreciate most is they worked with me on price to get the wood flooring that I had my heart set on. I love my floors and would recommend him to anyone.
