House Painting reviews in San Leandro

were very professional and easy to work with. They did all the work to specifications, asked good questions, and had good solutions to the minor issues that came up when they opened up the back of the house. They were as clean and quiet as possible and even minimized the amount of time we spent without hot water when they had to move the water heater. we've heard horror stories about working with other contractors, but we never had to worry about that. There were no surprises with the
San Leandro Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
; they were here everyday until the work was completed. We never had to wonder about where they were or if the work was getting done. They also worked well with the building inspectors and architect.

Job was very complete. They even repaired a broken window panel and fixed the trim on the garage door (above and beyond) so that the overall appearance of the door was much improved. Several men worked on the job. Neighbors were impressed with how quickly they worked (I was at work so I didn't see them in action). Neighbors were also impressed with the job that was done. Completed a walk through with

. He did some touch up work and said that if there was anything else do not be shy about asking (not too many people say that, and even less mean it but he did).

Absolutely couldn't be happier. They came every day promptly at 8am and were done by 3pm. They helped moved the heavier furniture and cleaned up after themselves. We are so pleased with the job they did and appreciated the attention to detail.

The last time I painted the entire house; stucco and trim, it cost about $3800. So I was surprised when the bids for just the trim were from $2200 to almost $3000. I chose
San Leandro Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
because he was very personable during the estimate and first meeting. His bid was also the lowest and I didn't see there was very much difference. His company also received very good reviews from Angie's List. Unfortunately, while the bid came in fairly quickly, the work kept getting delayed. From various telephone conversations, I think he'd taken on a lot of work and might have miscalculated the time required. Once they got started, one worker (Nick?) did the pressure wash one day and then the painters didn't show up for another few days. The two painters seemed to do very little to prep the wood in general except for a really badly chipped frame at the dining room window. I expected a lot more preparation - scraping, sanding, putty - based on my previous conversation with
San Leandro Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
during the estimate phase. However, I figured they knew their business better than me. When they finished the first day, they'd left cans and bottles around the house instead of putting them in the garage. It wasn't a big deal - not a lot of garbage - but it wasn't what I expected. Also, they'd taken the screens off - expected - but misplaced the metal holders at the bottom. I found several on top of the electric panel, several more in the dirt under the windows and another, obviously run-over and squashed, in the driveway. Again - not helpful or professional. The second day I pointed these out and they said they'd take care of it. I also pointed out the front door and screen door paint was uneven, the putty showed through (it hadn't been sanded) and generally needed another coat. When they left that day they said they'd need to have someone else come back to finish. By then, Bill 'was going on vacation' and Nick was in charge. He did his best and was very personable but it took awhile to get things finished. By then I realized all the windows had been painted shut! Nick did his best to fix that too, but in the process, broke one of my windows. He replaced it by the next day - no charge. Overall, it was a frustrating process. I am satisfied with the paint job - it looks good and so far has held up. But all the interruptions and mistakes were frustrating after I expected a more professional and responsible job.

He did a great job of answering my questions. He was punctual and very professional. The bid was just a bit high for me.

The estimate was the lowest of the 5 I got. They prepped and painted the exterior of the house. They were prompt, thorough and completed the job in the expected amount of time.

I called
San Leandro Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and left a message. Someone called back a couple days later and I scheduled an estimate for August 1, 2012. I live in the East Bay, so I made sure that travel was not an issue (they are in the
San Leandro Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
Area) -- they assured me it was not.
Two women came out for the estimate, they came about an hour late -- though to be fair someone left me a message saying that they would be late. They did not strike me as painters themselves -- so I am not sure how they could do an accurate estimate.
They came, and spent a few minutes talking and looking and said that estimates were running behind, and that I could expect to receive the estimate in a couple of days.
Weeks pass -- I call and leave a message. No reply. I call again, still no reply. I then prepare to submit a negative review on Angie's List, but I start to feel bad. I realize that they probably overextended themselves, put out a coupon that cut their profit too small, and are a small company and are just trying to make ends meet -- so I call one more time. STILL NO REPLY!!!
Do you want to do business with a company that shows up late to an estimate, wastes your time, and then doesn't respond to calls? Imagine if you get halfway through the job and then the same stonewalling happens to you...
I make every effort to conduct all of my business with the utmost fairness, honesty and compassion -- they seemingly do not share my values. I would not use this company.

Estimate was done and very thorough and professional, as well as educational. Salesperson very knowledgeable about paint and process. Owner took over communication when the project began, and was always reachable.

The workers did an excellent job considering our house is old and difficult to paint. The final outcome is beautiful. The staff was professional, polite, and considerate of my neighbors. This was important as the homes on our street are very close together (zero lot line).
A few things they could have done better-
should have been day-to-day communication on project progress and scheduling. It was understandable the crew was working around rainy weather, but one day they showed up to work unexpectedly.
They were respectful of the home exterior and garden but I noticed painting tools were rinsed out on the lawn.
